Ways To Build Your Blog's Credibility

When building a blog, a blogger must prioritize building their blog's credibility. Without it, success won't come your way.Truth is, it is hard to earn and retain the trust of people who don't know you, especially on the internet.

Hard doesn't mean impossible. If others have done it you can do it too after all. Below are some strategies you can use to get your blog visitors to trust you.

Tell Your Blog Visitors About Yourself

The point of it all is simple. People are willing to trust someone who doesn't have to hide anything from them. Your about me page for that reason should be used to your advantage. Your target audience needs to have more information about you. But no, they don't want your biography. Tell them enough about yourself so they have the idea that they really do know you.

Think about how you would introduce yourself to a stranger. Now polish up your introduction.

Choose Your Niche Well

You've heard it before. It's easier for you to create quality content if you know what you'll be blogging about better than the average person. How your blog is valued will be based on a number of factors: Is the content posted helpful? Valuable? Nail those two. This is what will compel your site visitors to come back for more. And you know why they'll come back? Because they believe they'll find the answers they are looking for on your blog.

A simple way to ensure  you are answering the questions is by researching the search phrases and queries used by your target audience. This way you'll know exactly what they are seeking and get them the answers they actually want.

Reply To Comments

There is a possibility that people who read your articles might leave comments or may want you to clarify something they didn't understand. You need to be there for them. Interacting with your site visitors helps them to know you better. Are you the sort of person who actually is interested in helping others?

Fail to respond to questions and you'll start losing not only traffic but also your credibility. Failing to answer a question can be misconstrued as a lack of in-depth knowledge of whatever it is your blog is about.

The above are just a few of the strategies that you can use to build your blog's credibility. There are plenty more I'm sure.

Good points, I couldn't agree more. To add up, the simpliest way to build your blog's credibility is to be pure and honest at all cost. Always ensure to be transparent with your intentions and never forget to value your readers.

Cool. I really appreciate the content of your article. It is a good reminder for aspiring bloggers out there, esp. for beginners or for those who are already doing blogging but haven't any good improvement yet. Basically, in order for a blogger to be on top or to get more readers the bloggers should must possess a good reputation as a blogger or a credibility. It ie very important because if people know you and your credibility as a blogger. People will probably easily trust your work and more readers will be interested in your work as well.

I remember one blogger, he's actually my favorite blogger today because he's very genuine to his principles and his information are legit, he did not actually become a well-known blogger easily. According to him, he's already blogging for about 2 years and he's not yet that popular to social media. But now, more and more people are tend to like him as a blogger which earned him millions of followers in one social media platform... because he introduces himself well to people and he build a good reputation and credibility as well. That's why I like him as a blogger.

Just a simple example.

When you say credibility that means to me about the blogs that pertain to the niche and not exactly with authority but with genuine facts that don’t need to be validated. There are blogs that I have read which makes me tend to check on the facts because I am doubtful. That is the reason why bloggers who write about their experience are the most best read because of their candid stories.

This article is really great because since I really learned a lot from it since I am a neophyte blogger who is dreaming to have a established blog that would help me to earn a passive income. I really agree that we must build credibility on our blogs so that more visitor would be interested to read our bogs and articles. Although it is very hard to established a sense of trust and loyalty to our blogs but I am still optimistic that I can do a great job for it.

Your tips are great for those who want to start their own blog. I definitely agree with responding to comments will help a lot and build your credibility. When you respond to comments, it means that you read their feedback and you care for your readers' opinions. The negative comment is a chance to grow and know your readers. While positive feedback is a motivation and an indication that your readers appreciate your content.

I’d also add and give this tip to new people to the whole Blog thing: never copy-paste. Never. Even if you go and copy some text off the Internet and then modify that text, if you use synonyms and substitute words so if you get checked for plagiarism it comes clean, you’ll still gonna lose in the long run. Maybe someone reads a lot of articles and blog posts, forums online, and sees an unbelievable resemblance between yours and some other post, and he exposes you. Your credibility is gone. Out the window, immediately. And also you’re not making yourself a favor. Being original and speaking in prose is the best thing that you can do.

True, sometimes when a blogger is on his/her pick they got pressured and sometimes lost in words, so they'll copy someone's work which will backfire to them sooner.

Your tips are great and right on point. My tip is DON'T GIVE UP!! It is important that you don't give up on your blog. I have seen many “abandoned” blogs and they create a really bad impression. People start a blog and then abandon it. Don't they realize their name or online user ID is linked to that blog? If I am not going to continue a blog, but I am also not going to delete the blog, I always try to leave a “Farewell Post”. Just in case a visitor arrives, I want them to know I appreciate their visit but I'm not maintaining the blog any more.

Aha yes, that's a great tip. DON'T GIVE UP.
I started writing online as a career in 2010, however, I was able to receive my first payment only in 2012. If I had given up I would have never made money online. I started my blog in 2015, however, I received my first payment two years later. If I had given up, I would have never made money from my blog.

Now that I have joined forums and social blogging communities, and online writing communities, some of these sites gave a good ranking with the search engines and many of them allow me to supply a link to my blog on my profile. I think this is another way to boost your blog's credibility while also building your online reputation.

I am on a lot of forums and I use forum signature and profile link to create backlinks for my site. Dropping your links on the forums where you are active adds credibility your blog. Another way to build your blog's credibility is through social media presence. If you create pages and accounts for your blog on various social media sites, your blog credibility will increase.

One of the first things I do when I discover a new blog is read their about me. It's absolutely a way of connecting with your reader base, and finding ways to best describe yourself without writing an autobiography is huge. I think it always helps if your about me is funny or witty, too - I find that I really connect with those kinds of intros.

If I don't want to reveal my real name, will that damage my credibility then? I write under a pen name. I have no presence on the internet. None of my social media accounts even appear on Google searches. I like it this way as a peace of mind.

Not revealing your real name won't negatively impact your credibility. Lots of people use fake names on the internet after all but though you use a pen name, everything else about you shouldn't be a lie. Just make sure you don't reveal too much about yourself because this too can be very dangerous.

I've found myself thinking the same thing. Even on social media, I see to it that my photos won't appear on Google search. I don't get why people aren't as paranoid as me when it comes to this. Some of the girls I've known are really loose in their social media accounts and they've experience being the target of predators.

It does not matter whether you are using your real name or a pen name. What actually matters is your content. Your content should be useful and informative. However, when you are using a en name try to use a name that sounds more like a human. It will establish authenticity of your posts.

I never put my full name on things like that either, and I've still had quite a bit of success with my writing, including being published in various magazines and newspapers. As long as your content is honest, I don't think not sharing your real name is too much of a big deal.

Though it would be nice for your pen name to be known. I don't really care much that it isn't my own name and that people around me wouldn't know that it was me. I just want to feel a sense of accomplishment.

No, it doesn't affect your credibility. It even excited the readers and make them curious about you. However, you should always think of the right content that you're going to publish, if you write something that is so far from the truth and the readers would know about that, then, right aways, you lose the credibility that you've worked hard for.

Producing informative and reliable content is what compels your reader to read your content and subscribe to your blog. And interacting with them by allowing them to leave comments on your posts and replying will build their trust. They will feel that you are really human and that you care about their opinion. Building credibility really takes time and needs patience. It is necessary to know your audience needs so you can create a content that will address them.

IN order to build credibility of your blog, you should produce quality contents. Quality content refers to well written content that is informative as well as useful. No body is going to read your post if it is something that is circulated online multiple times Therefore, you should also produce unique contents.
Quality is the first criteria in building credibility, producing contents regularly is another criteria. Your blog should always provide fresh contents.

I totally agree. When your readers found relevant information on your blog that will help them, they would like to come back to get more information. That's why being consistent to publish quality content is really important because every time they visit on your blog, they will be looking for something new. If you keep on producing good content, your blog will be the first in their minds every time they look for solutions from the internet.

You publish great contents on your blog does not mean you will also generate traffic. Generating traffic is very important for if you do not have traffic, your earning potential is almost nil. SEO is the proven method to generate traffic. You need to optimize your blog and blog posts for search engines so that your visibility on search increases and you begin to receive search traffic.

I think, even though you want to remain your whole identity as a secret to your readers, you should still have to make time communicating with them. Make them feel as if they are the reason why you're writing. Be selfless, a writer who only thinks about himself and his interest only won't be successful Thus, know what your readers want and would appeal to them, and make it more substantial.

I think engagement is such a huge thing when it comes to the success of a blog. People generally read blogs because they've found something they relate to and connect with. Being able to then engage with the writer of the blogs adds to that connectivity even more.

Authencity of the blog - the blog you will proud to say is original content, new and also own it. Sometimes also not go with the flow trendy topics. Not be just a copy paste.

When it comes to establish credibility originality of the post is very important. The posts on your blog should be unique and original. Unique and original means the content you have published on your blog are not found else where. You should always avoid publishing on heavily saturated topics and create a duplicate contents on your blog.

I agree with you. Sometimes, it's hard to be unique because you may inevitably copy to style of your favorite writer. But, it definitely is rewarding in the end.

Apart from the points indicated, you can make your website credible by always producing quality content to your audience. Try as much as possible to connect with your audience by giving solutions to their problems.

Also, ensure you answer every question asked by your followers or visitors. However, do not just answer a question just for the sake of answering. Instead, give a detailed and satisfactory answer. That way, you will have given your audience a reason to trust you.

I am amused with that line about telling yourself to your readers. Perhaps it is better if you, as the blogger, is somewhat mysterious. When your blogs are informative and well-written I’m sure you will gain a lot of readers and it is not necessary to reveal who you really are. Your reputation may dilute the interest of your readers because they will feel that the writer is either very good or not good at all.

I believe using your name (even a pen name that sounds like human) adds credibility to your work. The readers will believe what you have written when they see a human sounding name rather than something like "ho8xxx." It is ok to use a pen name if you do not want to reveal your identity, however, the name you use should be a human name.

Good tips! I'd like to add a few that I know.

  1. Proofread before posting.
  2. Give credit where credit is due
  3. Ads are nice but it will be even nicer if it wouldn't be at the expense of your followers
  4. Consistency is key!
That's all I can think of at the moment.
