5 things your website MUST have if you want to be successful

Everyone who has a website is chasing success online, it could be you want to gain 1,000 new subscribers a day or you could want $3,000,000+ a year in profits, be we're all chasing something in order to make our lives better.  We all put up websites and add the most common things like a home page, about us page, contact page, privacy policy, terms of conditions, etc. and we think "Alright, now visitors will come and I'll make money!" but that's not how it works.

Being successful online takes a ton of work, much more than just putting up a website, and I'll be going over the top 5 things you need for your websites if you want to compete in the Colosseum of success.  If you can do everything right, you can win everything you've ever had your eyes set on, and you can do whatever you want.  It will take a lot of work, a lot of dedication, and a lot of time but those are standard requirements if you want to be successful online, and here are the other 5 things your website MUST have if you want to be successful online.

Search Engine Optimization
There isn't a website out there that isn't optimized for the search results that are successful.  There might be people out there saying they haven't optimized a single article or page of their website and they're now successful, but their idea of success might just be they're making a few dollars a day online.

If you truly want to be successful with your websites, you MUST optimize everything you can in order to get found by the search engines and indexed for exactly what your website is about.  The better you optimize your websites, the better you'll get indexed, and the more traffic you'll get in time that will help you become successful.

Website Branding
Every website needs a good branding campaign up and running in order to be successful.  I tell people to focus a little bit on branding in the beginning and to focus more on SEO and just building up their business in the beginning.  After they start to see some success then they can go into branding, but they should never push branding down the "To Do" list because it can really amp up your success in a short amount of time if you already have something good built up.

If someone tells you that you don't need branding, ask them why they have a custom logo on their website or blog.  They're likely doing branding and don't even know it, but they're telling you that you don't need it, which tells me they don't know what they're talking about and should be ignored.  YOU NEED BRANDING AT SOME POINT IN YOUR WEBSITES JOURNEY!

User-Friendly Design
Many people think they're website designers or programmers, but they usually screw up the navigation and design that helps their visitors have a better time on their pages.  If you can make your website easy to navigate, load quicker, and overall a better experience for your visitors then you'll be creating a good place for them to come back and likely share with their friends.

If you're not thinking of how a person is going to experience your website, and you're just focused on how they will buy from you, you're not going to be successful.  You MUST focus on user experience and please everyone that comes to your website by having a good design that loads quickly and is easy to navigate.

Pay Per Click Campaigns
You may not have the funds right now to do a huge PPC campaign and spend $300 a day, but you will be able to get to that point if you've already done the points I've mentioned above.  After you're getting some sales and profits rolling in, you need to put that money back into a good PPC campaign and nurture it until it's converting as well as it can.  After your campaigns are starting to be more profitable than when you started, open up the floodgates and spend more per day on your ads, and you will see more sales coming in which will only boost your success 5 things your website MUST have if you want to be successful

Top Notch Customer Support
Websites die from bad customer support or someone that is unresponsive within a chat system.  I usually forget to set my chat system to "Away" and I'll wake up to a few missed chats, but I an auto response that asks them to leave their email just in case we don't get to them in time.  About 50% of the time a person will leave an email and I will reach out that way, which is another way I can convert them into a sale even though I missed their chat lol 5 things your website MUST have if you want to be successful

If you have some VAs answering all of your support tickets, answering your chat system, sending out emails, etc. you will likely have a setup that people will see as high quality and they will constantly come back to purchase time and time again 5 things your website MUST have if you want to be successful

In conclusion
There hasn't been a successful person or website out there that hasn't gone through a few barriers or over some hurdles in order to get to where they are today.  If you dedicate yourself to your website and building it day after day, you'll have an enterprise in just a few short years, and hopefully, you can look back on this discussion and think "I did it and everyone else can too if they just dedicated their time and effort!" 5 things your website MUST have if you want to be successful

You said right about 5 techniques. Search Engine Optimization- White Hat SEO- ON page and off page optimization and all on the techniques are necessary. Mainly SEO is the main policy for making the website popular, to increase the page position on different keyword based on search engine result page, to increase the page rank over all Google and many other search engine and to drive traffic/organic traffic/sales converting traffic to your website or life time. 85% traffic generate from search engine by keyword based and 5% generate by keyword based back link or keyword based hyperlink.

Thanks

The main reason why I am learning SEO in this site is due to the need of the website for traffic. I have no website of my own now but I can definitely use my knowledge in SEO in helping some friends who are website owners. They sometimes ask me for tips on SEO methods and my usual reply is the unique content that they should upload. But connected to the content is the use of the keywords so that I have to explain a bit about it.

I do agree with you on all the points SEO, Good Customer Service, Optimized Site Design, Website Branding and PPC Campaigns can and will boost your authority, give you good traffic that would translate into conversions. It's right it's not easy, it usually take years of time and effort along with investment but when done properly it can earn you a lot of money.

I strongly agree with the listed ideas above especially with having the top notch customer support. Basically, some online businesses are losing return customers for small reasons like their concerns were not promptly answered and some are also thinking that they maybe scammed by fly by night companies.

Any website whose customer support system is not doing okay always run that risk of missing out of a whole lot of visitors as many always go to a website to do one transaction or another simply because of the trust that they have that no matter what goes wrong, they will still have someone to talk to from the support crew.

Absolutely! Customer Support is important more than anything else because it builds trust, it matters more than the price in a way the customers are willing to pay more just to get the right experience they want. Customer Support also builds brand awareness by word of mouth, either good or bad feedback will give a big impact in the business. Lastly, customer support reduces the problems like disputes which is pretty common in an online business.

Many firms that has got a whole lot of negative reviews might be that they have poor interactions with their customers and you know that once a customer notices that you are not willing to assist them, they end up tagging you a scam. So, trying as much as we can to interact better with the customer is definitely one of the ways to improve our relationship with them.

Sometimes, it is not always the customer support who is liable on customer's dispute. One of them is the manufacturer or the product itself. Sometimes, products are faulty or flimsy. Though the customer support has given options to get it resolved, some customers do not like it to be resolved because they have already lost trust. There are also times that limited tools are given to customer support to resolve customer's issues so it leads to disputes.

Yeah, costumer support is usually the drive of a website. It helps in a lot of aspects in terms of running a site. Remember that clients expect good service and one important factor is attending to their inquiries as fast as possible.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NesMarcos
Certainly! Attending to concerns and inquiries impromptu can make a better shopping experience to customers because it will flush away all their doubts and worries to their purchased items.

True! I stopped shopping online on 2 very popular platforms, due to their customer service. My experience was terrible, no one solved my problem, and I felt disappointed and cheated. I tend to come back and keep shopping, when the customer service is great, I even agree to spend a little bit more money on it, because it guarantees I will be satisfied with my shopping and attention.

Definitely. Customers tend to trust those who can give them after sales service/support. They feel more valued

One factor customers keep coming back though they are not fully satisfied with the product they purchased is the connection between them and the customer support. Having a good customer service will build a good foundation of trust. Customers always want to be prioritized and a topnotch assistance on their concerns, so this must always be remembered if a business wants success.

I know for a fact these things work. Not because I can show my own websites as proof. But because I met two ladies who partnered and started their own websites. I watched them go from 2 websites to several websites, including them under one umbrella, and they labeled their collection of websites as a “media group”. I watched them develop and grow right before my eyes. I remember when they started back in 2014 and within less than 5 years they had a great online presence. When I read your list, I can see where they did all those things.

As far as Customer Support, in addition to responding to direct eMails, they created Support Groups on Facebook to respond to questions and address issues. It saved them the trouble of answering and reanswering and reanswering ... Sometimes you get the same question via eMail from about 50 people! It'll wear you out! I also think it would help if most sites had an FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section.

Having an awesome website designing is one of the best ways that we can make our sites unique and attractive from what we have out there. The reason is because I always want to check on sites that are well designed as it is always attractive to work on such.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NesMarcos
A website that is well designed, with interesting products to purchase and a user-friendly should also be in the list. Like example if you tend to sell girls stuff, better make your website pleasant and attractive to a woman's eyes. Having a pinkish background can help for a woman-friendly website. And if you tend to sell boys stuff, then find a color that is attractive for men.

I agree with this customer support point. In many instances when you fail to support the people that visit your site you will lose them easily. I for one cannot go back to a site where my comments are never replied. It feels like the owners do not care at all.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That's true, potential clients that have inquiries expect a fast reply from costumer support. It's because they need to feel important and very much welcome regardless if they will subscribe to a service or just checking out your services.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

They will feel valued and hence even visit the site a multiple other times. Without the proper feedback it is always easy to lose them.

User friendly design is HUGE. I can't tell you the number of times I've navigated away from a website because their design was so bad that I couldn't find what I needed - and usually, I end up on one of their competitor's sites! I'm sure a lot of people have been in that boat before, too, and it really highlights just how important great user friendly design is.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree. Sometimes if the website looks boring, dull in color, not neat at all, incomplete information for each product, etc., these factors will push a potential customer away so having an attractive and a user-friendly website is a must!

Agree with that, and actually for me, the user friendly website is enough for me. The're some websites owners don't even know how to choose the proper theme for their website, this one is a big factor for me, what more if the user friendly website has the pay per click campaign? it's gonna be the best place to stay.

Great tips. I think for me the most important is the customer support and user friendly design. Once your audience find your site through fantastic SEO, you will want to keep them on your site for as long as possible and keep them coming back. I would advise that you be as visual as possible. If people want a product or to get in touch with you and it takes you a month to get back to them, I think you will loose a lot of your audience. Like any niche I'm sure there is a lot of competition.

A user-friendly website will definitely play a big role on any online base business. Website's are a front-line of any company in terms of online factors. Having a website that is well made and enticing keeps traffic on your business and eventually create regular clients.

Top Notch Customer Support is a one factor why costumers stay in your business. We all know that everything will not run smoothly every time that's why support teams are very important to make clients aware and go through problems. Also this team is an essential drive for advertising and keeping your site on its most productive state.

This is true. Even though I don't have any experience in making websites but I've been reading about tips and this five has come up. User friendly design and top notch customer support has been mentioned by a friend who has her own website. I believe that customer support is very important. If it's me, I will lose interest in a website who doesn't answer with my inquiries. I hope to have my own successful website someday, this are very helpful tips. I'm looking forward to learning more from this forum.

Branding is so important on a website and I think people just don't spend enough time on this aspect when building their websites and companies. I have seen a lot of sites where not enough time has been put into the branding side and it's clear to see for the visitors which is not at all great. Spend time on your branding and your site will be successful.

A lot of business owners really missed this part. Branding strategy should be enhanced more before building a website or a company. Brand equity is always correlates with brand strategy because this is the feeling that makes their decision if they are going to buy a specific product. Companies should create and execute a strong brand strategy if they really want to be successful.

I will go for top notch customer support. In our office, there was a time that I was assigned for the customer support of our IT department. The customers are also employees of our company who are the users of applications. When there is a problem, they call on the customer support that I head. When I was assigned to another unit, I was given a testimonial event by the heads of other departments for the top notch support that my unit has provided.

I always advocate for proper customer service in all businesses. The majority of customers want to be supported at all times and with efficiency. It goes beyond just responding to the customers to also rectifying any issues and worries that your clients have.

A user friendly design means a lot to me. I really get annoyed by those super hard to load platforms, that are completely full of videos and adds, and don't allow an easy access. Usually, I just drop the business and leave the site. Very good post with amazing tips and recommendations.

User friendly and a top notch customer support is my top 2 factors. I've worked as a customer service representative and you should always give you best in each of the customers you assist. Some might don't want the design of the site but you can always pacify them and you should welcome their feedback if it's negative or not.

True. That is also my top considerations when I'm using and trying a website, or any type of applications. I still prefer to have a user friendly interface even though I'm used to the very technical one. If we can be able to simplify it, then why not right? But anyway, I believe they should make their user interface into user friendly because the target users are techy and non-techy users afterall.

I love the idea of making user friendly design. You are not only getting the attention of programmers or designers but also those who are in love to design and artistic but not that so techie at all. These will really give our visitor more chances on how to use it because its very easy to navigate it. And because the customer had a great experienced of using it, theres a chance that they will promote and encourage their family and friends to try it too.
