New in a Coffee Industry and need an impact

We are in line with a beverage business which is a coffee drink. Just like other entrepreneurs, we want to maximize our impact and get numerous consumers or potential market. We have been promoting by some social media platforms but I notice that those are not enough to leverage online. We thought about an ad campaign or do you know other ways to increase traffic and boost sales in terms of an online marketing?

Try uploading a video on youtube , discussing your product in a creative way. And post your link below in the comments section as you interact with people in that section. It could help you.

Instagram has been an outlet of showcasing the design of your coffee brand as well as exposure in the form of creativity in your posts.

Well since you already said that you're advertising by social media platforms I'd also suggest YouTube videos, buy ads, forums, blogs, reach out to press or famous online people, ...

When you are using social media as advertisement don't forget to engage with your followers. Don't just post things without responding to any comments and so on. Also, try having contests - people love those.

There are really so many effective ways to increase your traffic and get noticed you just have to use them optimally and to your own advantage.

Thank you for all your responses. If I were to use social media as a marketing tool, should I consider services from digital marketing firms such as Demand Wave or can I do it on my own? The problem though is, I also need to learn a lot of things when it comes to maximizing the social media as a marketing tool.

If I were to do it myself, what should be the first step to take?

Try influencer marketing. For example, find some of the male and female influencers on instagram. And make them market your product. You can reach more people this way. I have found that also social media marketing may definitely help. It just takes more effort on that part. But you can see that coffee is popular on internet so it should not be that hard.

This one is such a good tip. My uncle was a complete rookie when it comes to social media and marketing, so he hired a marketing influencer. He was somehow reluctant to do it, because he was used to the traditional add and publicity, he had help from his family with social media, but in the end they all decided to invest on professional help by an influencer. It has worked out really good so far, his business is growing slowly but in a better way than it was, and it has saved time and effort from them.

I have seen that some of the local functions and the program where you can promote the product. That also helps out. You should be definitely working out with the small brands. And that is one more reason there are always things that can be changed in that case. I guess impact wise you may find that local word of mouth impact is always good.

Yes, working with small brands tend to help out in a course of time. However, in this case, hiring an influencer made that time a little bit shorter. Also, my uncle and his family did some work on their own, as you said, word of mouth, local radio announcements, public small events, but nothing worked as well as the influencer help, it really made a difference.

I think local influencer the better. There are lot of international influencers who can do the same. But it may not be easy. And you can see that people need to be working with the different type of the influencers to see how that works out for them. That being said, coffee industry has lot of competition.

Indeed, coffee requires certain conditions that not everybody can afford, specially time. However, it pays the hard work, so if you put your effort into it, you will sure see the results. That's why it is so important to let people know your work, to be able to produce a very competitive option, and to do the best to promote, like in this case my uncle did through and influencer.

I recently checked out on the dropshipping competition on coffee. It seems like a lot of people are into this. And there seems to be more people likely to come in soon. So it seems the coffee industry has lot to consider on that front. I guess we learn from the experience on that.

There are many ways to skin a cat, so to speak, and you can read the ways in this forum or you can search in the internet. Email marketing is not that effective anymore but it is still a good tool to spread word about your business. Another way is by making an interesting video in Youtube that if it gets viral then your product will be noticed. If you have already tried social media then you might need to be more creative in the promotion of your product there.

Coffee is a crowded field, but this is not necessarily a bad thing, that means that there is a market for it. The best advise I can give you is to find a way to market your product as different from all the products out there. Read the book the $150 start up by Chris Guillebeau ,there is a couple who started selling coffee and they were successful by targeting a particular market, sports men particularly bike riders and hikers. Think about your market, define it, make sure it is available and then go for it.
