I've noticed a lot of people are asking this same question. I don't see how sales drop during the holidays, or "this time of year". In fact, I've noticed an increase of sales. Why would sales drop this time of year? A lot of things go on sale during this time of year, so it's a lot of competition. You have to compete with those that offer services for pennies.

After the holidays, especially during this time of year people seem to spend because they either received money, or are using some savings. I guess it really depends on what type of services you sell, and who your buyers are.

This is a very common question around Holidays. Christmas is at our doorstep and people are either saving their cash for Christmas, spending their cash before Christmas or spend their money just like they've always been doing. On the exact same things.

The reason for freelancers to feel the way you do, is most likely due to the first given reason. That tons of people are saving their money for Christmas. They need to buy gifts and presents, Christmas trees and all that kind of things.. And that makes them incapable of buying services, because their money is limited.

That being said, what I've been doing and what I recommend others to do, at this time of year, is to have huge discounts on their services. Make superb package deals, give away awesome bonuses, launch special X-mas deals etc. - These things are amazing to bring sales!

Both recurring customers and new clients will take their chance of getting something for a huge discount.. Just give them a chance!

Everyone is taking breaks including buyers some people don't have much of money and they have to direct the money blows so to speak. Sellers are probably taking a vacation it has been a very long year. I am here and ready to work as always lol! Holidays do not dictate my schedule so i have an advantage at this time of year. If you need anything or want to build a future sales force using my services your more than welcome. I am level X3 and i have been on seocheckout almost 3 years. Im sure many other sellers are still active as well so please check the market place and message sellers before you order to see how responsive they are. Awesome question i appreciate you taking the time to write to us. Have a Nice Day and Happy Shopping!

Well as a buyer I am keeping all my money right now so I can buy my kids awesome presents! Leading up to Christmas is also a bit of a killer financially for me with my daughter's birthday at the end of October, my sons party was at the beginning of December as his birthday is just before Christmas so I have had 2 months in a row paying for massive birthday parties!

I think there are a good number of people saving their money for Christmas and/ or just resting and not working.

I am going to slow down my work pace for 2-3 weeks soon. I will have to because of school holidays!

Yes, there is less activity and that is understandable. People are spending time with their families, at parties and get togethers, shopping, maybe even traveling. There are more activities and obviously, less time to spend on work. I have taken this into account and set up a status that I will be available only till a certain date as I know I will be too busy with other things to concentrate on work. Besides it is also worth noting that there is less income available for orders if you take into account the fact that many people are spending a great deal of money on shopping at this time of the year.

I think this question has been asked before. I personally always got more orders doing the holidays, especially around the time of the new year I always was full with orders. Maybe because I usually worked a lot more on promoting myself around this time, I have way more free time than usual and clients seem to be very inclined on investing more during this time of year.

But also, lots of people have a lot more expenses in this period, they need to buy presents for the loved ones or maybe they are going on expensive vacations, whatever the reasons, some business owners will wait on making new investments at least until January.

The truth is that many clients celebrate the season as well which contributes to that drop in sales. I think it is a welcome development for us to have that time out and relax our minds for future working opportunities.

I think the amount of sales during the holidays will depend on the kind of service or product that you are selling. Gift items are generally a hot item during holidays and some companies even produce special products for the occasion like personalized key chains and mugs. But for freelancers, I guess it is a slack period during holidays when most of the users are not online.
