What current website features would you like enhanced or improved?

Have you ever wanted a certain feature to act a certain way? Do you have suggestions and feedback that you would like to voice your opinions on? In this FAQ we will discuss current features the site already has that we as users would like to see improved or enhanced. This FAQ is not an official suggestion and feedback requester, this is just to voice your opinions and ideas.

Please do not ask the staff to make a certain feature here, or even post an agreement such as "Yes, this would be nice" with a certain feature or improvement, if you agree with it, just simply "like" or "thumbs up" the post. If you don't agree, thumbs down the post.

Replies such as "yes, this would be good to add", or "no i dont agree with this improvement" without stating why you don't agree or why you agree without explanation will be removed.

All posts on this FAQ would need to be suggestions and/or feedback. If you think a suggestion would enhance the site, you need to say why it would enhance the site, provide an example, and your arguments. If you don't agree with a suggestion, voice your concerns!

Notification System Improvement

How it currently works:
  • Once you get an alert, you will see Alerts (1)
  • You have to click on the alert button to see the alert you have, a popup will appear
  • The alerts are not posted in real time, but received in real time.
  • The alert page has no pagination and only displays a certain number of alerts


How it can be improved:
  • Make the alert realtime, display a window in the upper right corner or bottom right corner with a small box containing the alert details, give option to close the alert, or automatically close alert within 3 to 5 seconds.
  • Show who views your services, profile, FAQ, etc, we only get alerts via action based such as liking a service, or leaving a comment, give user option to turn off views of services, or profile
  • Either paginate alert page or give user ability to clear all alerts
  • Give user ability to go 'incognito' so other users dont know they view their pages, services, etc..

Some time ago on old forum were some suggestion about "sound" signal on receiving new alert and i guess it would be nice to have as well What current website features would you like enhanced or improved?

I hope if there is a system implemented, and if it has a sound this sound would have a feature to turn it off. Because sometimes, sounds can get pretty stressful. Especially if you have about 10 active orders and trying to get things done with the marketplace tab open and all you keep hearing is "Bing Bing!" for new alerts. I would like to be able to mute that little sound, but overall a sound notification can be quite nice too.

Would that be similar to the Facebook alerts/notifications, such as when someone likes or comments? Those are actually useful

Yes, it would be similar. I'm not trying to say yes, clone facebook's alert system but somehow its function would be the same of course.

Yes I think it would be great as I find it bothersome to have to click on Alerts every time and since I am here practically all the time I would be able to increase my efficiency if I had to see alerts in real time instead of having to click each and every time out of curiosity. As you said it is quite similar to Facebook notifications. Moreover it would be great to be able to clear alerts as I must get at least 20 every day.

Yes, this is another hindrance, that pesky alert page that doesn't allow you to clear your alerts. I know that it only displays the latest alerts but it is still too bulky for my liking. We need a clear button now! 8-)
since I am here practically all the time I would be able to increase my efficiency if I had to see alerts in real time


You have no life like me, just kidding! Yes, I am in total agreement with you there as well. I too spend a lot of time here and notification system that I posted would be so beneficial for users like us who love to be as responsive to our clients or even users as much as possible.

Apart from that, I would love to have the possibility to see orders sorted out by their deadline - you know, seeing the one with the most recent deadline first, and others follow, as at the moment they are sorted out by the day they were ordered.

I would also like to have some sort of Notes feature, a place where you can make notes for personal use and reference. It would be helpful for me to keep track of which orders I will handle every day for example, rather than write it on a piece of paper as I do now.

No I meant a sort of sticky note feature for each order. Or in the Manage Orders screen. The thing is I get several orders. For example at the moment I have 13 different orders with different deadlines and buyers sometimes send a message to my inbox rather than a reply in the order response page. So there are bits and pieces here and there sometimes. With such a feature I could see everything noteworthy in the same page and it would make it much easier for me.

oh yes, now I know what you're getting at. I think that would be beneficial as well.. a note section per order for the seller. I can see how this would help sellers, and provide notes so you don't forget..

It could get very chaotic if you have about 20 active orders a day, and clients changing their mind, etc. So I can really see how this would be great.

Yes it certainly would help me a great deal! I really hope it could be taken into consideration. I end up making notes and every time I do this I have to write the order number because that is the only significant difference from one order to another as I get most orders from a couple of popular services, and generally I have more than one order placed by the same buyer. So such a feature could indeed save me time and a lot of possible mistakes and confusion between orders.

I also like that, it will be nice to add notes in each order for our reference without the buyer seeing it. The notes just need to be saved as a message in order page but only seen by the seller. We can save urls, keywords, id etc.. in the order page itself without disturbing the buyer.

Hi Anweb I agree with you. Though this featured not much necessary but, our execration always high and we expect always something special for seocheckout and sound for alert may such great one for notification system. And we know, everything has both side good or bad. Alert with sound may has a bad side. For example, if you get notification very often by sound alert, it may annoying for your freelancing work and I am sure, I will mute when I will do very serious work. And you can use this featured facility by other way, which I am using for my email and I got notification for all email by sound.

Well since i like the sound notifications i made it my own way for some alerts. I actually switch ON to receive them on my email and i am receiving my emails on my mobile phone application which is refreshing frequently and it also make sound on all received emails, so i can react as soon as possible if it's about providing service for my buyer or something else. It's true that i also receive some other spam too, but at list i clean it up more frequently now so my email inbox is always clean too. Not the best option out there but at the moment working good for me ;)

Currently, a buyer or seller has to go to a third party site to file a support ticket. And, some buyers won't think to do that. My ideas would be for some kind of easier way for buyer to make contact with support staff to resolve issues sooner, rather than having to go to third party site, create a ticket, wait for response. While that system is used by many, a more instant way to communicate with support staff within the Seocheckout site would also be ideal.
  • Support based live chat feature that opens chat with support member who can immediately handle issue. It would be like a live chat feature on seocheckout.com and many sites have live tech support on site. I realize this live chat feature is available on Zendesk but it depends on the buyer (or seller, if he has a problem) going to a third party site.
  • Support button that you click to get help (much like when you click the report button to report spam) and you describe your problem on the support form and all relevant information is tagged in the ticket created. Thereafter, that creates a ticket on the current support desk and a support member can respond, without the buyer/seller ever having to leave seocheckout.com to create ticket. Possibly this could be integrated with the current Zendesk software used now for report but it would originate inside seocheckout, the actual order itself. And, I know there could be issues such as ensuring the person who created this ticket could obtain follow ups. And, maybe they could show directly within a 'support dashboard' in each person's account.

I don't know if live chat support would be the best thing for this type of website. Sure it works for many different websites out there, but with live chat on here you'd get questions like "How can I increase my rankings in Google?" and that's not really a support question.

Having live chat would also reduce the amount of posts on the community discussion where people can ask questions like that What current website features would you like enhanced or improved?

You have some really valid points there. :/

We were talking also about having a sales related chat, not related to tech help. And, I would support the sales chat feature, such as where a buyer could click to get support for finding a good buyer. The chat person would not be able to answer generic questions though and would likely just give a macro/canned response for those. What current website features would you like enhanced or improved?

If the chat was targeted to an active order that was not yet delivered or canceled, if they had X amount of time to make a support request this can limit the amount of redundant support inquiries. For instance, active order support, instead of just onsite realtime support. Where the buyer or seller would create a ticket regarding an order, but only have a limited of options, and make a phase stating something like: "If your topic is not listed here, please view the FAQ or send in a site support ticket". Maybe something like that? But this would probably branch off the support into 2 support systems.

I agree that needing to go to a third party website for support can sometimes be a hassle. Therefore, I think having a support ticket system integrated with Seocheckout like the Community Discussions would be a good idea so everything can be done on here instead of a separate website. Also, I know there is a short FAQ on the support desk but I think it will be a good idea to move that over to the Seocheckout website as it is easier for members to see it here. Also, I think more common questions should be put there like “Where can I find my affiliate link?” just so it can be easily found.

Hi Bev I agree with you like some buyer and seller does not like to get support ticket by third party and I personally do not like. But, it is not big problem too. And I agree with your second Idea like live chat support. It should be awesome. And I saw it some big website like payoneer.com and user can fix their problem within moment by live chat. So, I very much prefer your this point. And I do not agree your second point like support system by click on button. Because, such type of very easy and convenient system may be abused.

I've read all the points stated by everyone regarding this but I still believe a live chat function could be something outstanding. For any "how do I level my account" questions, one could simply refer them to the proper Community Section topic. Basically just a copy & paste reply. In my opinion, a live chat, for anyone who's in need of support, would actually be a great feature to bring even further professionalism into seocheckout. It looks good to have one. It is good to offer people instant support. I honestly can't see any major downsides, even though I still understand all the stated points above.

Campaign Builder Option:
Basically you could pay $3, or whatever the price woule be, to have an Seocheckout staff member to pick out what they think you would need in order to hit the top in Google, Yahoo! and Bing. Basically the staff member would be putting together a basic plan of attack to increase in the rankings on the search engines. The buyer could put in their budget of $30, $40, $75, $10,000,000, etc. and the staff member will try to stay under that budget, but put together the best bang for the buck What current website features would you like enhanced or improved?

SC wouldn't really profit off of this because of the time it would take to research the buyers website, put together a campaign and then find the right services for the buyer. I think it would increase conversions a lot since people wouldn't really have to search for what they need and a lot of buyers may be wary of purchasing because they don't know exactly what to get.

A lot of times, when a buyer cancels one order, such as for Twitter followers, the next question out of their mouth (or fingers, considering they are typing it) is "Who provides really high quality Twitter followers?" and then I have to go find a seller who does just that. And, usually it will result in another sale! So the idea of having a live chat for pre-sales is a good idea. This campaign builder option would satisfy that requirement too, for many buyers.

The site would benefit in the long run as there would be more purchases if a person could find the perfect seller/service match, as you said. They would not have to do all that research on their own. Though I don't really know if there should be a charge for this.

The only real downside to this is that it would reduce the time on site and the bounce rate wouldn't be as good. That's mainly because people wouldn't be browsing as many pages since we'd be doing it for them What current website features would you like enhanced or improved?

I can definitely see where any service that would save the buyer some time/headache in locating a useful service would make the site more profitable though, even with the downsides.

I would also like to mention other alerts, improvements, or statistical information for enhanced improvements and little upgrades to already amazing functions the website has:
  • Show who actually liked posts, not just the number of thumbs
  • Show who actually bookmarked your service, on the service page, possibly a little popup window containing the profile image of the user who liked your service
  • Show who is currently responding to your messages, via inbox, FAQ responses, and possibly orders
  • Show the real statistics of your services by including page view graphs (refer to basic image statistical graph below)

What current website features would you like enhanced or improved?

Now i couldn't really replicate javascript in the image, but there should be javascript indicating views, and orders so when you hover above an "order" or "view" label it will display that graph and info.

Sorting services based on country:
I can't take full credit for this because it was talked about the other day and I actually think it's a pretty good feature. This will allow you to find people in certain countries if you need a specific language or you want to pay a certain rate. If I needed something written in Spanish I could look for people from Mexico or Spain (different Spanish, I know). If I wanted to pay a low rate for something of high quality I could search for people from India or other countries where the currency conversion is high on my end but low on theirs. I'd basically be getting a discount by hiring someone over seas because $3 to me would be $10 to $11 to them.

This is a commonly requested, or asked question "How to sort services by seller's country". I agree with this feature, and more search filters because we need to be able to search with more filters attached to our search queries to find that perfect seller.

What other features would be good?

I'm thinking, last active, user level, orders completed, positive ratings, response time all grouped into one search.

For instance: I'm looking for a Canadian seller who is an artist, and can draw me an elk for a game. I want the seller to be last active within 7 days, at least 5 positive ratings, and a response time under 2 days. I do not care about user level so I will just leave that blank.

It would be much easier to find that perfect seller, don't you agree?

An advanced search feature would be pretty great What current website features would you like enhanced or improved? This would weed out a lot of sellers and only leave the exact ones you're looking for. I have, and I think others have, searched for a while trying to find the right seller for what we need done. I've spent 30 minutes searching, reading service descriptions and sometimes not even finding what I need. If we had an advanced search feature that hit all the metrics, I think we'd see a lot of buyers and sellers more happy than they already are because there will be less confusion about the service.

I actually read a post, well a review awhile ago stating that the reviewer didn't stay because they couldn't find the exact service they wanted, or couldn't locate a specific seller. This would increase buyer activity, and I'm sure buyers would order more services if they can actually find the perfect service they want. It just takes too long to go through pages, and pages of services, and the end result being that you couldn't find the service, or just simply gave up. This is very bad in terms of business!

I would like to be able to get notifications of any activity on a thread if I want to, not just in reply to my threads or my comments. There have been some posts that I have nothing of value to add to, or I don't know much about but I find it interesting and would like to know more.

So yes, the ability to follow a discussion thread and get notifications. I think that would be lovely.

Hi Everett thanks for raising a excellent point. I read all comments and I saw many arguments here, what looking more live concerning this post. Overall, as a micro job site seocheckout really awesome. And hope we are very satisfied. And all existing featured are working very good. And Jordan done everything very well. As a nature of human our expectation always high or it may happening be loving seocheckout. I mostly insist on service status option. At this moment you cannot push your service by any current status, what is now going on with you either show up sold out. And, I really expect such featured will come soon, we can push service by any message like vacation going on, sickness etc. Buyer will see on service this message on Order now button. And I think another featured may need to enhance like order deliver section still slow. If you going to deliver order by click on deliver now, it will be hanging for few moment. It should be instant. And large file still not possible to attach in deliver section properly. If you attach large file by zip, it will make error for other hand like for buyer. So, this section should be more update.

Yes, you are correct this is a "micro job" website, but what you failed to mention is that, this site is the BEST micro job website on the internet.
At this moment you cannot push your service by any current status


Yes, technically you can only suspended a service, and this will prevent buyers from buying the service. You can add a little message within the service indicating why the service is suspended, but I agree with your suggestion too. What other types of status do you think would be beneficial other than the current ones you already mentioned? Also, I forgot to add it would be nice to automatically pause your service and have them automatically activated again (like if you're going on holiday/vocation)

What would happen to all your open orders if you shut your shop/services down temporarily? Would a custom message be automatically posted to each order to let buyers know that you will be away on vacation, sickness, etc? That would be useful for sellers have have hundreds of open orders as updating each one would be very time consuming. Possibly that's what you were indicating too.

One feature some of us already discussed about Live Chat when I posted in previous forum.
I think it is necessary feature in todays environment so staff should thing about it to get more sales by convincing our potential customers.

Yes I was one of those who created such a discussion a couple of weeks ago. I know that many buyers would love to have this as it irritates them that they cannot chat real time with us sellers. There are time differences of course, but chat could help to overcome them, and avoid the waiting between getting a message, replying to it, and waiting for another message in the inbox. The live chat should be restricted to orders and solely to facilitate communication between a buyer and a seller. In such a way it would not be abused.

From some point of view it would be nice feature to have for some reasons. I just don't see how exactly it would improve number of sales at our marketplace. Can you explain how it will bring more customers or sales?

With Live Chat feature we can have conversation at the same time rather than waiting for reply each time.
This frustrates buyers mostly that they want to order right now but they have to wait for reply for discussion.
This way we can increase sales & conversion rate.

I do understand how you feel in this matter. The featured slots are extremely hard to get and it's always hundreds of people trying to claim their spot as soon as one featured slot is free. However, you can't just take away a sellers chance to get a featured slot, no matter if they had one for 1 month or 48 months.. That's just wrong and unethical.

I was not aware that one would have to wait as slots are limited. Couldn't you consider other options to make your service more visible and prominent maybe, such as the paid bumps that offer a highlighting feature?

I don't know why people wait for slots to open, it's shocking to me. You are paying $575 for a slot, for your service to be featured. Do these sellers know that they can potentially advertise their service on a third parties website? Why target just marketplace traffic? Sellers should branch out, away from the marketplace, as it will increase orders.

So if you have say $575, why not create an advertising campaign? You'll most likely get the same amount of views, and orders if done correctly. I believe that if you are waiting for a slot you should advertise elsewhere. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

This is actually true and good idea, while waiting for available slot to feature service on front page, for this amount of money you can advertise your services on multiple, yet popular websites and possibly use even affiliate link to your service to bring i more customers and sell your service for 100% price

Something I have noticed is that some sellers are not happy with the 5 day waiting period before an order is automatically approved. I am not too worried about that time frame because there has been a discussion about that and I have added my thoughts there.

But something that has also come up now is how many buyers don't bother with approving an order at all or with writing feedback and they just leave it for the 5 days and then the system automatically approves the order.

I don't think any of that should be changed... but what about offering some sort of incentive to buyers to approve orders as soon as possible, simply because it is nice for the sellers to get their orders approved quickly. But more importantly also offer an incentive for the buyer to give honest feedback on the orders whether it be good or bad.

I think that if more buyers approved orders quickly and most importantly gave honest feedback it would benefit the entire community of buyers and sellers.

When I am looking for sellers I always look at the feedback and go through what everyone has said. It gives me good insight into how people feel about the quality of the services given.

I have often been tempted to purchase a service and didn't simply because I would have wanted to know more about the seller... and not from the seller, from others that have purchased before.

I don't know what sort of incentive would work but I know it would make me happy if I got some sort of benefit. I always check and approve orders immediately when I receive the email saying it is completed and I always give feedback. If the work is outstanding I leave a recommendation.

I'm kinda confused when you mention "approve" the order. What some sellers do is offer bonuses, or extra work for buyers that rate the order, this could potentially give the buyer an incentive to rate the order. I think there is already a discussion mentioning above so we can continue it there if you wish.

An iOS app would be quite nifty! However, it would take forever to program due to all the functions. And then you have to recode functions to fit other languages, and it's a big hassle. But hopefully one day we will have this app!
