Forums and blogs named Facebook

I've seen some blogs and forums online using the word Facebook, which I'm sure is trademarked. Do you think a site using Facebook as part of the domain or site name is likely to get sued or have legal action taken against them?

Facebook would crack down on a trademark infringement blog or forum. There are not as many around anymore. You don't hear about the lawsuits, but I'm assuming there would be some.

I would rather not spend a year building a high traffic site based off the Facebook name only to get sued out of existence. Just best to focus on the Facebook phenomenon by mentioning the site in your page title but leaving it out of the domain name.

I would think that FB would not put up with that. I do not feel it is right, so they will most likely get sued.

I am thinking that if you have a page with facebook in the name, you will have yourself a lawsuit pretty fast if you are not willing to change it.

Facebook is very jealous and protective over their name. Though I'm sure there are some site owners who will risk it anyway just for the temporary fame.

Knowing FB they would eventually sue these forums but not until they've gotten a lot of followers or members. In my experience FB cracks down on illegal sites when the site is starting to grow rapidly. Got booted several times.
