Disappearing friends on Facebook

Did you ever meet someone on Facebook you really liked talking to and one day they just didn't come back. And, even months later they are still gone? Why does that happen?

Some people just stop using Facebook for no real reason or they get busy and don't have time to get online anymore. That could happen if they are dealing with family and friends offline.

Most of my friends in Facebook are my relatives and personal friends. Some of them would quit Facebook for a while and I will only know when they come back and post to explain that they were away for a time. I understand that some people create an account just for the heck of it and has no specific use except for pastime. And when they have no more time to spare then they abandon their Facebook account.

Not to sound discouraging, but some friends might have unfriended you or simply started other accounts.

Just from my own experience, I've had times when Facebook was very important for me to keep track of friends who don't live near. And, then other times, I'll be so busy with family and work that I rarely if ever check Facebook. So maybe it's the same for others.

Maybe your friend had another account that was banned previously and now they can access that account and have no use for the second one.

Sometimes life calls people away from Facebook to deal with family and job situations and you need to be patient. It helps to know these people on places other than Facebook so you can keep up with them when they disappear.

And, lots of people don't put the same emphasis or importance on Facebook friends and contacts as they do people they know in real life. So if you just know someone on Facebook, don't be surprised if they suddenly disappear for weeks, if life gets too busy.

And, did you buy these likes or are they coming from your real friends? These likes may not exist and could just be part of a system malfunction.

I had this friend. She was a girl of 21 from Armenia. I met her on a certain writing site, she found me on facebook and we became good virtual friends, for couple of months, we chatted, we even called each other. However, suddenly she disappeared. I don't know why she disappeared, maybe she was dead (accidently) or got tired of using facebook (it is very likely that she was also chatting with other people).

Every end of the year, I check my friends on Facebook, the number and the activity. For this year, there’s not much changes. I think there are 5 who have deactivated their accounts but there are more who were inactive for the last few months. From what I gather, some Facebook users create a second or even a 3rd account that they use for a different circle. Maybe those inactive on my friends list have their other accounts that they use hence they are missing in action in my network.
