    When you optimize your site for Bing, are you also optimizing for Yahoo Search, considering how Microsoft's Bing is now serving up search results for Yahoo?

    Does each search engine have their own set of SEO rules?


    They're all separate companies so they'll definitely have different ranking factors but overall they will be very similar. I would say anything good in the eyes of Google will most certainly be good in the eyes of Yahoo/Bing/Other major search engines.

    Generally I'm ranked better on Bing and Yahoo than Google... Yahoo and Bing give more value to EMD and consistency in link building doesn't have as much negative effect on them as in Google's eyes.

    But... I'm getting little to zero traffic from Yahoo and Bing compared to Google, so they don't have value to me.

    Which one do you set to optimize for then? I assume that Google is the one you are optimizing your SEO for.

    Bing and Yahoo are very user friendly, more geared toward the actual site user who is looking for good content. For this reason, it's easier to rank well if your site is content rich and actually provides high quality material the user will want to see, rather than catering to the search algorithms of Google.

    Yahoo is powered by Bing so I think when you optimize for one you optimize for the other. I find a comment made here interesting. Being ranked highly on both yahoo and Bing but have no traffic. I think yahoo and Bing are empty streets. However when doing SEO one should try and find out niches and Countries that are popular on both search engines, and adjust their content to both.

    I have read so many discussions about the SEO for search engines that what SEO work you do on your site will be applicable to all search engines. However, the resulting search lists will be not be the same mainly because of the differences in the algorithm of the search engines. In other words, the search list result of Google will not be the same as the search list of Yahoo and Bing as well.
