How long does it take to build audience for an affiliate blog?

Let's say you started a blog about Amazon products in a specific niche. How long would it take to find an audience for such a niche affiliate blog?

Depends on everything. Like, are you working full-time or can you do your sites full-time? How good is your niche and keyword research? How are you promoting them, with a site? How is the on-page SEO? The off-page? What colour is your hat?

Also, are you counting the length of time it takes you to learn everything you need to know to get it right by reading SEO blogs etc? I've been studying SEO blogs like source-wave.com and backlinko.com in my spare time for about 3 months as a hobby, and though recently I just started hitting the SERPs for my keywords, I haven't yet made any money. But that was just my learning curve, at least I'm on my way. To make the site took about 2 weeks (I'm a newbie, so it took ages), and to rank on page 1 it took another 2 weeks. I'm expecting it'll take another few months before I start making any significant passive income that I can actually enjoy, but thats just a guesstimate. Amazon might be faster because you have cheaper products, the products I'm selling in my niche site are all more than $3k each so its not so easy to make a sale (but all the traffic is in buying mode). If I was selling cheaper stuff, maybe I'd have made a sale by now? But I like it.

One thing about Amazon - the customer has 24 hours to buy something and if they don't, what they buy the next day won't mean anything to you, you won't get paid (thats not so bad with cheaper, whimsical products I suppose). Some other aff. programs have cookies that last a few months (like my current project), while Seocheckout lasts forever (my next project!). That might be worth thinking about when looking for affiliates.

This depends on so many factors, not least of which the competition already in your niche. Also, what type of content are you putting on your blog in addition to the advertisements for the products? Are you including full reviews? All this could increase your chances of earning a sale from a visitor.

This totally depends on the individual involved, because two people can market at the same time but one is not doing the right thing and is not driving enough traffic while the other has do much traffic.

So definitely two individuals can't function same so to me time if achieving traffic depends solely on the people involved.

Yeah... I agree with the above post. It considers all the factor as listed above.

If you market aggressively, then you can build audience pretty fast, and if you don't do enough promotion and marketing, it will take time to build an audience. How fast you can build audience also depends on the content type. If your contents are properly optimized, for instance you have done on page seo, off page seo and technical seo, then organic traffic will build pretty fast. If you are an influencer on social media and when you promote your blog in social media sites, you can build audience easily. If you don't have too many followers on social media, social media campaign might fail.
