Well, one efficient way is by making a twitter account and a Facebook page for your website. That way, you can promote those specific pages and get more followers and more likes. That way, your site is being shown out on some of the top social websites in this generation. As long as you continue to promote those 2 pages, you are sure to get more visitors and possibly more income.

If your marketing strategy doesn't have a serious social media component you should probably consider adding one. While most people in the U.S. still use traditional search engines such as Google to find what they're looking for online, users -- especially younger ones -- are increasingly discovering websites by way of social networks.

Twitter and Facebook are some of the largest Social Media sites, so I would start there by gaining a bunch of friends and likes on Facebook and Tweeting and Getting Followers on Twitter.

Start blogging every day.
Build an audience through consistency and capturing people’s attention via email and RSS subscriptions.
Increase the “stickiness” of your posts by optimizing them for search engines.
Wait.

The hardest part for me, admittedly, was #4.

The hard truth is that the age of a blog determines a lot about its credibility and worth to the Internet.

But that was before social media. That was before millions of people were connecting with new people everyday to exchange information.

Open up Facebook and Twitter account solely for your website, nothing else to it. Make sure that this social media sites are meant for business, not friends or family members junk tales. Yes, blogging at forum sites or write short summary of your site at other sites help to garner external traffic to your site. You cannot expect to get huge traffic overnight unless your content is useful, informative and had been running for a few years. Remember to follow other members so that they will follow you too.

Here are some of my favorite ways to drive traffic to my social media accounts:
Share useful and informative posts
Have a photo with your each post
It is better if you create infographics
Share your posts on pages you moderate, groups you have joined
Do cross-sharing, for instance, you can share your facebook link on twitter
Link your social media account to your website or blogs
Use your social media links as a signature on your email or forums.

Getting traffic from social media is not really difficult. You can post on your timeline about your website for your friends and followers to see. And if they are interested then they can effect traffic by clicking on the link that you had included in your promotional post. However, you need to be creative somehow. Not just a simple post to say that is your website. You need to be engaging in your marketing so the readers will be curious or maybe intrigued. When that happens, they will surely click on the link of your website.
