SEO in 2026: what is actually working for you?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been trying to figure out what actually works in SEO right now. With all the recent changes in search results, things feel very different compared to a couple of years ago.

I’ve tested a few things like basic on-page optimization, content updates, and internal linking. Some pages improved, but overall results are still inconsistent.

It also seems like search engines now focus more on content structure and intent rather than just backlinks.

Curious to hear from others — what strategies are bringing you results lately?

Are you focusing more on content, links, or technical SEO?

Piggybacking from social media that consistently ranks in Google (Reddit, Youtube, Facebook). Those 3 sites are always in the top results of pretty much any search inquiry, so just make sure you have a presence there for your keywords and you're golden. I make money from it every single day.

Great question — SEO has definitely changed.

From my experience, content + search intent is working best right now. Just keywords or basic on-page isn’t enough anymore.

What’s working for me:

  • Topical authority
  • Good content structure
  • Regular updates
  • Internal linking
Backlinks still matter, but quality > quantity now. Technical SEO is important, but mostly as a foundation.

Content and intent definitely matter more now, no argument there. But I'd push back a little on the idea that backlinks matter less - what changed is how they need to be structured, not whether they work. What's been working for me is treating it as layers instead of one flat pile of links: a smaller batch of solid Tier 1 links pointing directly to the site, then a bigger supporting layer feeding those Tier 1 links rather than the site itself. Keeps the link profile looking natural while still building real authority underneath it.
