5 Automated eCommerce Emails You Should Be Using

If you're running any sort of eCommerce website you will need to use these 5 automated emails to help boost your conversions and keep people coming back.  If you're not using emails to bring people back to your website/store, you're likely losing a lot of sales and could be doing much better than you are right now.  As you know, emailing works really well to convert people into customers but it does take some time.  On average it takes 6 emails before someone will make a purchasing decision and come back to your store/website.

You're in luck!  With these 5 automated emails, you will have a majority of the emailing completed that takes to convert someone into a sale!

Now, let's talk about the 5 emails that should be automated.

A Nice Welcome Message
This is the type of email that should automatically be sent out when someone signs up as a member of your website or opts in to your newsletter.  It should be a nice little email letting them know the best spots of your website, where they can find deals, what your contact info is, etc.  You'll basically be giving them the hot spots of your website as well as some things they might be interested in (quick upsells lol).

Another thing you'll want to add to this welcome email, and all of your automated emails for that matter, are links to your social media accounts so people can follow you where they tend to be more active.  Giving them links to your facebook page, Linkedin profile, Instagram page, etc. will give them the option of where they want to follow you.  Once they follow you, they will likely see your posts at a later date, and that's just free advertising.

Have an Abandoned Cart Email
A tricky little wat to get people back to your website to make a purchase is to send out automated abandoned cart emails.  When someone registers on your website/store, adds items to their cart, goes to checkout, but decides to back out and close the site you pretty much lose them.  If you have remarketing set up just right, you can now send them an email letting them know they still have items in their cart, and that sometimes gets them to come back and make the purchase.  This wonks roughly 10% to 15% of the time, so don't expect to capture every abandoned cart, but at least you'll be capturing more sales 5 Automated eCommerce Emails You Should Be Using

If you have the ability to give out discounts or coupons, send them out with the abandoned cart emails in order to convert more people!  The person will get the email, see they can save on shipping or get a discount, and think "Ok, I'll buy now because it's a little cheaper overall!" and you've just captured another sale!

Send out a Cross-Selling Email
When someone buys an item on your website/store there are likely things that are related to that item.  You can capitalize on this by sending out automated "Thank You For Your Purchase" emails and have some "Related Items" listed in the emails that will likely get people thinking "Yeah, I think I could use one of those!" when they see the related items in the email 5 Automated eCommerce Emails You Should Be Using

This works about as well as the abandoned cart emails, so don't expect to bring back 100% of your customers, but it will capture a few additional sales here and there so why not use it 5 Automated eCommerce Emails You Should Be Using

Important Date Emails
Everyone has a birthday and most people have some sort of Anniversary, so why not send them a special little email saying how happy you are for them?  Oh, you added a nice little discount in there for them to use because it's their birthday or they've been a member of your website for 1 year?  GREAT!  People like to see these types of emails because it shows you're taking the extra step to remember them on their special day.

You customers will start to follow you more, because you're paying attention to them, and this will create brand loyalty and they will always come back to see what you're offering or they will follow you on social media and see your posts regularly.

Re-Engaging Emails
Sending out this type of email will help get those unresponsive subscribers and make sure your lists are healthy.  People who don't engage with your emails at all might actually be hurting your deliverability.  If no one is responding, your delivery rate might start dropping, and that's never a great thing to have happen.

Now, if you're sending out emails that help those people re-engage with your business, you're going to fight a winning battle that is email marketing.  What you'll want to do is filter out anyone who is actually responding so you have a list of people who are inactive when it comes to your lists.  Now that you have a list of inactive people you will want to send them a nice email letting them know you'll be removing them from your list because of their inactivity.  You can figure out their inactivity by if they're opening your emails or not.  Remove anyone that isn't opening this email, clicking links, responding, etc. because they'll just be hurting the emails getting sent out to the rest of your list 5 Automated eCommerce Emails You Should Be Using

The more often you send out emails, the sooner you can send out these types of Re-engaging emails, so you need to judge this for yourself.  If you're sending out emails every week, you can probably send out this type of email every 3 months.  If you're sending out emails once a month then you'll likely want to send out this type of email once a year (every 12 months).

In the end, if you're using emails to talk with all your subscribers and buyers then you'll definitely want these 5 automated types of emails to increase your authority and keep people coming back.  Send out nice messages, reminders, abandoned cart emails, and even remove people from your lists from being inactive after sending out a re-engaging email.  Keep your lists healthy and everyone will be happy in the long run 5 Automated eCommerce Emails You Should Be Using

I did a quick search and found a WooCommerce Abandoned cart plugin, which was developed by WooCommerce, and it was $219 lol 5 Automated eCommerce Emails You Should Be Using

I then did a quick search over at CodeCanyon.net and found some that were much cheaper and have some great reviews 5 Automated eCommerce Emails You Should Be Using

Here's the results for my search "Abandoned cart wordpress"
https://codecanyon.net/search/abandoned%20cart%20wordpress

Here's one of the cheaper ones that has some good reviews
https://codecanyon.net/item/woocommerce-abandoned-cart-recovery/24089125

Here's one that has 4,000 sales and a 4.5 out of 5 star rating

If you can afford it I would go with the one that has 4,000+ sales since they seem to be better. They're a little more pricey, but you don't have to pay a yearly subscription like the Abandoned Cart Plugin developed by WooCommerce lol. You'll get updates and be able to use the plugin from CodeCanyon on any website you want 5 Automated eCommerce Emails You Should Be Using
