What is better for promoting a business: Facebook or Instagram?

If you are an influencer in Instagram then I guess you can promote it better there than in Facebook. But I think Facebook is more appropriate for promoting a business since there are Facebook Groups which you can harness to your needs of support. You don’t have that in Instagram and the only attraction of Instagram are the photos that you are posting. Aside from that Instagram is a boring social media.

Using social media as a type of advertising could be an advantage to others who doesn't use it. It also target a wide range of customers because you are targeting the entire world and most of us have an access to social media. If I would choose what should I use to promote my business, I would chose both Facebook and Instagram, why would choose one of them if you could use both as a way of advertising. I know some who uses facebook but didn't use Instagram so still you could reach those people who doesn't have an instagram. You should also look for other social media sites like LinkedIn and use it too to promote your business. The more you advertise, the more customers you are targeting.

Yes, everyone has Facebook account. It a source of joy and happiness. It also contributes busy hours of employees inside the office. They're doing tons of monitoring activity on their account than finishing their work. It only means Facebook is life. ( Ha.Ha.Ha )

The most advantage is that more people are on Facebook than on any other social media. So if one to do the game of numbers to get wider coverage and get whatever it is out there then putting it on Facebook will work alot better.

Really Facebook owns Instagram? I have been using that platform but don't know who owns it. Perhaps, I'm not that particular or I don't mind since I just want to use that application. Yeah, Instagram was bought by Facebook and it popularity is overwhelming. Infact friends I know have actively move away from Facebook to Instagram than other platforms.But Facebook is still doing creditably well.

I think it is better to use Facebook in promoting our business because most people are using it everyday for different purposes. In some places of the world, Instagram is not popular and being used very often that is why I would really choose Facebook because it is more easy and convenient to use.

I think it's best to use both platform which is Facebook and Instagram. Promotion is a great advantage since it has a large number of users and it has a wider scope. Products or services will easily be recognize and access it with ease. Using social media as a medium of promotion is a convenient and hassle free in terms of it's usage.

Both Facebook and Instagram are effective in promoting one's business. If you can promote in both social media then go, but if you are only going to choose one of them, I think Facebook is better than Instagram. I prefer Facebook because it is more often used. Facebook offers us services way more than Instagram. Facebook has marketplace, you can post without pictures, share videos with higher time duration by which Instagram cannot have. With these features of Facebook, it has undoubtedly more active users than Instagram, therefore, you will be able to reach more people with Facebook rather than Instagram.

Usually I'd go with Facebook, because it's a lot more user friendly and popular. I even used to think that Facebook beats Instagram in terms of popularity, until recently I figured that it's not true. The youth is usually on Instagram, as I have noticed.

It depends on which audience. If you are looking for a more general audience, Facebook is better because it has the biggest userbase of any social media website. Instagram is still a good social media website to promote your brand if your audience is a more younger generation (<25 years old).

I am more inclined to say Instagram since I am more familiar with it concerning marketing and stuff. But you can't set aside Facebook since it is the one who has the most active users out of all the social media platforms out there. Why select between the two? Just employ both and get the best out of them.

Facebook's got the bigger audience here but since Instagram is now owned by Facebook, you can easily crosspost so you can use both and I recommend it. I would prioritize Facebook though if your target audience is not the younger people.

I'm not gonna let you choose which one among the two you have to go for. I would rather suggest you go promoting your business to as many social media sites as possible. While Facebook and Instagram are on the run for numbers of users worldwide, it will not hurt to advertise product on multiple platforms.

I think I answered this before but I'll answer again just in case. Well, base on numbers, the platform that has more users compared to all social media sites is Facebook. So if you're going to promote your business it's best to take advantage of Facebook Pages. Having more users means you'll get more possible clients. I'm not sure but I think you can pay for a premium to be shown on user's timelines. Of course, Instagram also has that option. Still, Facebook is the best platform for businesses.

You can now connect your Instagram account to your Facebook and have whatever you have posted on Instagram show on Facebook as a way of promoting it. I'm not quite sure now but I think advertising on Instagram would reflect on facebook which would mean killing two birds with one stone

I think it is much better if you use both of them. Yes, Facebook indeed was the most popular social media platform and has the most number of users but you really don't have to choose between the two. Instagram is also a good platform to promote your business. Choosing Facebook over Instagram is good but Choosing both of them for your business is much better.

As I always say, try using as many resources as possible, don't limit yourself to only one. You certainly can use and SHOULD use both. Instagram has grown in importance, I myself haven't noticed that until now, so I see it as a valid opportunity to promote. There are many other social media sites, in my opinion, FB, IG, and Twitter are the most important ones today.

I agree with you. It's wiser if you use both of these platforms plus all other resources that you can use for your business. That question is like asking what will you gonna pick if you saw a Php 1000 bill and a Php 500 bill? Other people says that they will pick up the Php 1000 bill because it is much bigger but the true wise will say, I will pick them both.

To answer your question, I personally think Facebook is a better site to promote any kind of business. We all know that almost everyone has their accounts already registered on this particular site and I also think Facebook has a larger range of users than Instagram. I like Facebook because if you use their paid ads they can be quite effective. You can also use Facebook groups to promote your products and they can be quite effective. However Facebook rules are changing. Some times they don't allow links that promote products. I think we all need to learn to use Instagram. Instagram is better as a visual tool. So if your product is in fashion, art e.t.c you are better off on Instagram.

Yeah, the ads on Facebook are a lot more superior, and able to catch the eye. Instagram's design is too overwhelming for me, don't know why. But the greatest source of ads is YouTube, if you ask me.

Facebook OWNS Instagram. To me, it's not really a question of which is better. I'm going to use both because they're linked. It's very easy to post to my Instagram and then click the share button and repost to my Facebook profile or page or group or to a friends' timeline. That's a double promotion. An added plus is that I can easily reshare from Instagram to Twitter. Which is better? Facebook or Instagram? I see no reason to compare them.

Honestly, both have their benefits - if you can utilize both I think it's beneficial to do so. I don't think it's necessary to pick and choose. The success of the advertising sources may be wildly different for different kinds of businesses, so sometimes it can be a matter of trial and error. You could always do a week of advertising on both platforms to see how they perform, and then adjust your advertising budget and plans from there.

Aside from its popularity, Facebook has tons of features that are not on Instagram such as fast widespread sharing of a single post and being able to comment on every picture of a post. I have never really used Instagram for marketing so, I can't comment on their effectiveness of marketing and promoting. I would like to hear other peoples experience with Instagram.

Facebook is good to reach a lot of people. However, it is important to test multiple items to see what is working to make the sales needle move. Reaching 2 million people who don't buy anything isn't of any value, it has happened to me.

Now, I do very small cost advertising tests and when something starts selling I then increase the budget slowly. Tip: Always do small increases of your budget once something starts to sell because there is always a limit to total amount of customers, even on big platforms with millions of users.

With any platform you can either have good success or total failures. Go slow in the beginning and slowly grow your business to minimize potential losses.

I have found instagram to be more fun to use. The reason being there are lot of pages sharing small amount of data. I can tell you that there are some really good pages which have enough followers. You may definitely need to be making use of that. And reach more people and who knows you can even be a better influencer in the due process. I'd recommend you work on instagram for quicker visibility.

I believe Facebook is better, at least in our country, because of the number of people who are using it. If you are new to advertising business in social networking sites, then, Facebook is the easiest place to start and learn the craft. I would say it is the easiest because you would not add much effort since you already know how to use Facebook. But if you have incredible photos of your products and you feel like those photos could be your stronger suit than words, then Instagram is the way to go. Instagram more or less works on Photos more than words and using eye-catching photos of your products or services could spread the word about your business easily. Lastly, if you have the time to make wonderful videos then you should use Youtube as well. There are plenty of advantage of using Youtube, because besides the ability to sell your products and service there directly, you could also monetize your videos if you get a lot of views.

It depends on what kind of demographic you're trying to attract. Facebook is more user-friendly and is better used for the age groups which are known to be a little less familiar with the use of the internet. It's not unusual for older users to have a facebook which they use to keep in touch with friends and family.

Instagram, I think, is more for the younger folk, or the people who are very fond of photography. I've seen shops run on Instagram, and while there are more facebook businesses, it might just be a matter of time before Instagram catches on.
