I always give most of my clients the benefits of doubt when we are dealing on any business that they want me to execute for them. The reason for that is for me to do the right things as long as they behave better. I have trusted them and in most cases, they have replicated the trust as well.

Nice one. Such are the customers that give us motivation and keep us going on this freelancing journey. They can keep their promises especially when it comes to the payments and hence you never have to waste your efforts.

I prefer to have 3-5 stable clients, who are trusted and honest, rather than 20 randoms who might cause me some trouble and waste my time. So I agree with you completely. Quality over quantity.

I think generally speaking I do, unless I’ve heard negative things from trusted individuals. I think it all comes down to exercising common sense when it comes to trust in any relationship whether it’s business or personal.

I have always given people the benefits of doubt ,the fact still remains that we can't trust a total stranger but we just have to do business with them and believe that their humane side will prevail. Some humans are just horrible when it comes to integrity but we just have to move with it.

Yes, I still do like to think that ideally most people are good rather than bad. I think the humans that lack integrity are a small portion but people often talk about their negative experiences more than their positive ones, so maybe that's why we hear about them more.

That's a great mindset. Well, we must not have the same frequencies with the negativity or else it will affect us. We have to vibrate higher

The thing is, I'm a very open minded person, and open hearted. I hate scams, treachery, and I always try to see the good in people, even though it was abused previously by some. I'm too lazy to bother myself with predicting schemes, because I hope everything would be honest and straight forward.

You always need to check up on potential clients. It would be best if you find people they used to employ beforehand and ask them for an opinion. If there are any red flags, like they were late with payments, or similar, just look for another client...

I think as freelancer, we don't really have must choice when it comes to whether were going to trust our prospective clients. We are the one looking for job, in most cases, giving them the benefit of the doubt is something we have to hold on too. We could't not judge a client right away unless of course we've know them for a long time. Freelancing is a job that requires engagement from people we don't really know just for the purpose of doing a task they are going to pay us for. Of course, if there had been negative feedback heard and you are already facing a payment issue with a client after work has been that's the time to consider it a red flag. Say never again to scam.

I think that in the freelancing world it is very hard to choose on who among those clients we will trust since we are there to take risk since we can only determine if they can be trusted or not after doing a few deal or transactions with them. For now I don't choose my clients as long as they are interested and willing to make a deal on me then I would accept them no matter how hard the situation is as long as I will make a profit or benefit from it.

I try to just move on with any business proposal and believe that the other person will keep to the bargain. If we are to go by not trusting anyone then we will be losing customers and clients. Even in a world full of very dubious beings we still have very honest people. So I try always pray to meet my type that will pay what they ever agreed to pay.

Well, depends. If my client is part of a company or a large known group, I do a little bit of research first. Check out Glassdoor reviews for the company, I try to compare the pays compared to other companies (too high or too low is a red flag), and if nothing is suspicious, I go right in.

If my client is an individual, that's a completely different story. I have no choice but to blindly trust him based on my gut-feeling.

It's always best to give a benefit of the doubt even in business. I know things are uncertain but we need to be certain at times. It is difficult to be in a battle without safety measures. It's always nice to know the client and know their real intentions. You can always feel a person is sincere or not thru conversation or presentation of thoughts. One must always be careful not because they're a potential client.

Do you trust your prospective clients easily: In business you should be open minded person amd always put in your mind that your are the one needed them the most than they need you. You need give then the benefits of the doubts for them to be more comfortable to have a business with you. But it is also your part as a business man to be aware of different kind of people that you have to face and dealing with.

I prefer making a little background check out of my own when I don't fully trust someone. If I don't feel the other party is completely reliable, I'll step out and tell it to them. I wouldn't risk my effort and time.

While I do put a lot of trust on potential clients right away, I also do background checks and seek reviews if there's any about them before finalizing or accepting a deal. Making sure that you are gonna be treated professionally and be paid fairly are the only safety precaution we have as freelancers.

I usually do trust a prospective business client easily but whenever I’m in doubt or feel that something is wrong, I do a background check or observe the client first. Yo can see if a client is really serious and legit.

I'm new to the business of offering services. I'm happy if a client even notices me. LOL. I'm like: What? You can see me? What would you like me to do for you? Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

Not totally, but I do trust them. If I don't, I'll lose motivation to perform since that's what will be on my mind all the time.

I think I always trust people too easily. I might have doubt, I still always try to choose to believe the beauty in people. Moreover, I think I don't really lose anything, but perhaps time and effort in developing the software. Even if I really don't get the payment at last, I just take it as an opportunity to learn and work on something. I actually didn't receive payments for several times, though I felt frustrated at the beginning, I just take these as lessons and learned to handle the similar cases better.

I think most of the time it's okay to trust others. But the thing is that there are some places where people can't be trusted. And one has to be seriously make efforts to understand the person around. I think on that note I'd say that one should be thinking twice to trust the client. It's better to think before trusting anyone though.

It's hard to give your trust to someone you don't really know because a lot of scammers in social media will get your personal information to use in scamming people to hide their real identity and some will want to get money from you. But when you are a freelancer and working as a virtual worker, trust is the main qualities you will need to be successful. You need to build trust between you and your client so that everything in business will run perfectly.

I don't. I don't think that anyone does especially because, we are now all dealing with clients from all countries. When you are talking to someone that is across the world, you really don't who that person really is. It maybe that the person is not a good a person or they can scam you. These days its really not that easy to tell. I think the more you interact with the person, the more you develop a relationship with them and you learn to trust them.

I don't trust people easily and that includes clients as well. It's always better to be careful, specially when you're working. Not only are you investing your time, but you're investing effort as well. I may not fully trust people but I do have respect for them. Staying professional is also the key to make sure that you maintain a good relationship with clients despite the lack in trust.

I think the point is you have to start trusting the people first. Before you can work with them. You have to assume they are good. And then make sure to start the work. There are always chances of person going wrong. And you may have to work a bit more on that note for managing the business. You can see that business clients also need to trust you. So this goes both ways.

Yes of course, because I implement a pay first rule on my selling site. They pay for the item before I deliver it. When it comes to services it becomes a bit harder though. That's why it's better to work on third party sites for payment security reasons.

I have used freelancing sites so there hasn't been much need for trust. With freelancing sites, the client has to pay for the service before it is rendered. The site admin holds on to the payment and once the service has been provided they site admin releases the funds to me. I always hold on to all communications between myself and the buyer so that l have proof of what was agreed on. I know that if there is any dispute, I won't be at the losing end because I always deliver.

I am generally cautious when it comes to online transactions, but like what the other people said, it's easier if the system dictates that the client has to pay first before the service is rendered. This system is less risky on the part of the service providers.

Trust is very important in any relationships including business. Making a deal with someone without trusting each other is like a stranger making a marriage proposal to a random girl. The scenario can have different endings but one thing is for sure, there is no chance that the girl will accept the proposal. It is very important to develop a relationship between you and your prospective clients by improving your reputation that will make them trust you more.

I think when it comes to this, searching their background is one of the key because you can tell already if he is true or not.

Trust is important in maintaining a harmonious relationship between a client and the freelancer. It is a two way relationship where both of the parties should exert some effort in building trust and confidence towards one another. This way whatever the project both of them are working into. The execution of which will be easy and ideas will promoted leading to a more creative and fruitful client-freelancer relationship. If we are talking about trusting a prospective client, freelancers have no choice but to take risk if he wants to build a several number of clients. It is out of their control whether the client can be trusted or not. But it is in their control to only make quality outputs and taking the later strategy is a sure way of building a list of clientele.

Well, trust is a really big thing nowadays as the world is fill of scams. But, as a primary rule in the business, you should always make sure that you don't treat your customers or clients as criminals. Unless they show you disgusting maltreatment, then, you should really respect them.

When it comes to persons that I do not know very well trust is always precious and I give it importance. I have met almost all kinds of people in my life that I have learned to value my trust. When I was younger I would give my trust to someone who looks decent and meek because he looks to be a good person but it’s not always the case. For a potential business partner I am more cautious and wary of the indications that I may be taken advantage of.

Yes, I always trust them. I still believe there is still humanity left in this world. That good people are still out there more than the bad ones. And plus, you will never know when you are dealing with a suspicious client if you haven't encountered one. It will be a waste of time and effort but you will still earn experience and be wiser next time.

I give my prospective clients trust, though I always make sure to be careful. While I do believe that many businesses and many people are legitimately making good on their end of a contract, we have to understand that the bottom line is still to make a profit. People can and will abuse your trust most of the time if one is not careful. It's always best to protect yourself, but being paranoid is also detrimental since it will keep you from working your best.

Take everything with a grain of salt. If you get scammed even after all your precautions, it's not a reflection of your weakness. It's a reflection of the other party's lack of good morals. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about that unless you want to take legal action.

One of the downsides of being a freelancer. especially one that works with an online clientele is the issue of trust. You have to trust people you just got into contact and in business with for the first time. It also happens in most cases that you have to get your work approved before you get paid. This means the client holds all the cards. It's the price you have to pay especially when you are just started out. Some established freelancers who have their work to show for them always take an advance payment before they accept a job. That's where you should be headed.
