What's your favorite writing pen color?

Before the dawn of technologies like computers, laptops and smartphone, it's was pen that was used to write anything you desire to write on paper.

Black and blue pen are the most commonly used tools for writing in those days. It's not that pen aren't used to write anymore but freelancers are more into computer typing.

Between black and blue pen, which one do you prefer to write with?

Blue for me. I guess years of using the blue ink in school made it grow on me. Occassionally I use black as well. Sometimes it's more about that which is available to me at the moment. But if I had to choose, I'd definitely go with blue.

I prefer black because this is the standard when your writting a letter or anything related in writting. Because can you see clearly when your using it and usually the background of the paper id color white.

I also prefer black because it's more formal than blue and also black is easily seen even in low light than blue colored ink.

luv2xacosta
Yes, the same with me. I also think that it's a lot more cleaner and formal as well or maybe because ancient people use black ink since it is easy to produce before compared to blue ink.

Steve5
I think so too. Ancient times have used black ink for recording important information. It's not really about the stuff we use to write. What matters most is that the knowledge is preserved. It's understood well enough to be read by future generations.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I prefer it as well. I find it hard to write using other colors when the paper is really white. This color also blends really well with the background. The fine strokes are easy to read.

I can see how it's attractive to some. It can have a light to dark shade of blue. In a way, it's relaxing. I just find it too noticeable when I'm writing. I'd like to work with my whole focus dedicated on the words I'm writing. Not the color of the ink.

I also encountered a school before that also asked us to use blue pen instead of black. This might also be their way to distinguish the writings of the teachers from the writings of the student. Although I have experienced the same thing, I still prefer black pen to use when writing.

Black ink is more preferable for writing. Especially, if you have lots of pages to go through. Other colors tend to strain the eyes. The usual culprits are overly bright colors like neon and glitters.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ajahcuizon
I agree. I am also not that comfortable in using other colors of pen. I tend to get distracted with the other colors making me stop reading.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Me too. I feel like it slows us down. Black ink is very easy to ignore since you're used to seeing it. It's also dark in terms of color. Other colors are often bright and uncomfortable to look at.

Just a thought, wouldn't it be great if someone invents a pen which has a personalized ink or imprint which identifies it to its owner. A pen which can only be used by its registered owner.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
It's an interesting idea. But it's unlikely to happen. The way I see it, we're more likely to see less of ink pens in the years to come. Much of our writing is done online and not through paper.

I also choose blue ball pen. It is because it is my favorite color.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I'm okay with the color blue. But it can be too distracting at times. Also, it's hard to read the longer you look at it. Maybe it's the lighting and the way it reflects on white paper. But it certainly is pretty.

I like writing using black ink the most. There's this kind of black ink which really looks nice in a glossy kind of way, it's jet black and looks silky.

I like your description. It really is attractive when you put it that way. This is probably why many scholars used jet black ink. It looks professional and reads easily.

I think I prefer black pen since it is the most commonly used color of pen during my previous years of study and until now that I am already working. I am already used to it and I really admire it because it looks good for my writings whenever I am using a black pen. I feel like I am more motivated to write when I ma using such color because of having a simplicity effect while writing.

I agree. It has a simplicity effect giving our writing a relaxing to the eye effect. I also grew up using a black pen mainly in all writing so I got used to it.

I used blue color ball pen during my younger days because we are not allowed to use black colors. It gives clear vision on every writings I made. I can see my classmates answers. It was a big help. But now, I use blue, black or red colors. Whatever is available at the supply room. I need those color to identity my work writings.

We got used to blue pen as it is almost the national school writing pen. This means that I am almost wired to use it anywhere.

I would prefer to usd a black pen. Although blue is my favorite color, I see black as my friend when it comes to writing. I find it relaxing to the eye and clearer to see because it is the opposite color of most of the paper. I am much comfortable in using a black pen than using a blue pen because I can see it clean and clear.

Well i have always used a black pen whenever i do write something on paper. I guess Blue pens are more popular than black pens but i have never liked to use blue pens since my school days. I think that when you write with a black pen your writing looks more attractive and professional as compared to the blue pen.

Black pen is the best as long as I am concerned as I have made use of it in numerous occasions and it is pretty cool. The thing is that you get to appreciate the black color when you take a look at the things that you have written.

In our country, black pens are more important than blue ones. Our teachers always remind us that black is used for formal writing and formal documents, so it's best if we train ourselves using the color in writing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Exactly, we have the same issue too. We are supposed to use black in everything that is legal, or educational, because that's like a formal rule. So, everywhere here you will see black ink in documents, checks, bank statements, college, school. But, I would put some color on papers, I know we can't make a Carnival on papers, but some different color like green or orange doesn't have to be a big issue.

In my life as a student and as someone who already has a work. I never bought and asked for a blue pen when I write anything. I love the color, but, I don't like seeing it as the color of the letters that I'm reading. I guess it's a psychological factor, but I really can't focus with what I'm writing or reading when the pen used on the writing is blue. Black is more formal and more appropriate to the eyes and to the brain. Well, that's just in my own opinion.

Disclaimer though: I have used blue ballpen in some cases when I don't have a choice,Lol

Black Ink Pens are the norm in work and business. I mean it would really look funny if you sign your signature on official documents and other legal papers using a blue pen right? A black ink pen looks more formal and business like.

Black is my preferred choice, but I know some places don't like that - since it can sometimes be hard to tell if something is the original copy or a photocopy when things are in black! I just think it looks neater though!

I like to use black pen's now instead of blue or other color pen's. Actually when I was a child I want to have a blue pen or other color pen and i really want to have a pen that has all color on it when I was a child but now I don't. Maybe because of maturity i'm not saying that it's so childish having ballpen's that has other color. I'm just saying that we have a different taste in terms of things we want. But me I preferred black pen's nowadays.

For me black sets the mood of being formal or/and mysterious. In serious matters, we often use black pen over other colors because it looks more sophisticated. History set the idea of using black color in writing like using coal and so as the ink. A blue pen on the other hand looks mild and cool, which i think more suits on writing a funny story or a happy thought. I interchange them sometimes according to my mood or depending on what I am going to write.

My favorite is always been the blue color. And the thing is that pen often have their own color variations. I have mostly the blue and few other color patterns that I have seen so far. In such context I'd say that blue is my favorite color.

I use several pen colors, depending on the situation. Mostly it's blue or black. I usually use blue if I write something prolonged, like an essay and etc. Black is for notes mostly.

Black. I always liked black better than blue, or any other color for that matter. Black is classic, simple, lowkey, and straightforward. Also, some documents would require to be filled-up using black ink, hence black is the default safer option.

I prefer using black inks on important documents and I tend to stay away from blue. I didn't like the way my writing stood out because of the blue ink it was like a slap on the face. But after almost an hour of cleaning blue ink from my fountain pen I know have a strong dislike for any blue ink. On personal notes I like using purple or pink! Yes I know those aren't part of the choices but I just thought I'd share it! What

I prefer the black colored pen. I like its simplicity and usefulness in writing. Using other colors can be somewhat distracting and off-putting. We need to be able to write as seamlessly as possible. Sometimes the obvious choice is the right one.

I used to own a fine point pen and the color was “wine”. I loved it! It wasn't like a BRIGHT RED!! But it wasn't dull and boring like blue and black. At one of my old jobs, I had a supervisor whose favorite color was purple.

I prefer blue because you actually remember more information when you write with a blue pen than with a black pen. Also blue is less harsh on paper and causes your eyes less strain.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
Interesting - I'd never thought about it from an eye strain perspective but I think it makes sense. Sometimes if a photocopied sheet is black and white and then I'm writing in a black pen it can be hard to differentiate the text!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Janie1994
Yeah, it's one of those tricks to help memorize more information and not strain yourself too much. It's also the only other pen color accepted on border forms when you enter a country (black is obviously the other pen color). It's important to use other pen colors- maybe try red when writing on a photocopied sheet- but I'm fond of thr classics.

I like black. It is clear and easy to read. Blue ink reminds me of school in the days when you had a fountain pen and carried a bottle of ink or cartridges to fill it with. It conjours up images of ink blots and leaked blue all over briefcases and red marks that said whatever I wrote with the blue ink was not right at all.

My favorite color pen that I use for more creative notes are gray, light, sky, royal and navy blue.
I am used to make creative notes wuth these colors because they are my favorite colors and everytime I read my nites with these colors I memorized it faster than with black. I'm not sure but I have read on the internet that memorizing is mire effective when you read it on a blue written ink.

It does not really matter to me what color the ink is. I do like to write in colors, so a cool shade of blue is refreshing, or pink. Or even green. What I most desire for in a pen is how the ink comes out. I hate it when I press down and a huge ink dot is there. That is very aggravating to me.
