    Using social proof to increase your conversions and sales

    When you're browsing your favorite eCommerce website you will likely see a social proof app or plugin showing what people have purchased already.  These apps and plugins are there to show you others have already purchased what you want and this will increase the chances of you making your own purchase.  The beauty of social proof on your website is you're proving to strangers that you can be trusted since others have already purchased.

    Social proof can be used on literally any website, no matter the niche because you can tweak it to however you want it to show up.  Want to show some reviews you've gotten from past customers?  You can do that easily with all of the apps or plugins.  Want to show what people have previously ordered?  Well, this is what a lot of people use it for so you're in good hands with the 2 below options I'll be covering!


    Using Beeketing Sales Pop with WooCommerce
    When I was doing my research for some of the best social proof plugins and apps, I came across Beeketings option called Sales Pop.  For this plugin to work you will need to have WooCommerce installed since it syncs to your orders page and shows everyone that has purchased.  If you have an active website this is a good option, but if you're only doing 1 sale a week it might not be, and this is because sales get stale over time.  No one wants to purchase from a business that got 1 sale this week and 1 last week, they want to purchase from someone that is consistently getting sales because that's what the successful businesses are doing.

    It's not a big deal though, you can input your own sales from the past and show them as recent sales to increase the chances of capturing a new customer. 

    Using MoreVago if you aren't using WooCommerce
    If you're not using WooCommerce then you'll likely find your way to MoreVago when interested in putting social proof on your website.  MoreVago just requires you to put a small script above the </Body> in order to show all of your reviews, past sales, etc. on your website.

    I actually use this service on one of my SEO websites that sells services for under $350 and it works pretty well.  I saw about a 20% increase in sales, which easily covers the price tag of $29 a month for this service, and I'm glad I installed it Using social proof to increase your conversions and sales

    Social proof of sales will boost trust
    People are adding social proof to their websites because it boosts the trust of your business.  Most people will open a new tab and look up reviews of your website, and if they don't find any they will close your tab, and this means you just lost that potential sale.  Now, if you have a social proof plugin or app on your website you will be showing your visitors what others have already purchased, loved, signed up for, and other various actions on your website.  If someone sees that a stranger has done something before them, especially the thing they want to do, the new visitor will be more at ease with their purchasing decision.


    In conclusion
    By adding a social proof plugin or app you will literally make more money overnight.  The more traffic you get to your website each day, the more money you will make.  Think about it, if I were making $3,000 a day from my website and I got a 20% boost in sales (like I did already), I would be making $3,200 per day.  That additional $300 a day is $313,000 a year for something that only cost me $29 a month lol.  I wish I was making $3,000 a day but I'm not... yet Using social proof to increase your conversions and sales

    This article is a big help, and indeed a well shared. I would have to agree with, 'Social proof of sales will boost trust.' Since there are a lot of online businesses popping up once in a while especially in social media platforms, I can honestly say that potential customers are sometimes depending on social proofs. Needless to say, it basically helps them at an ease with their purchasing decision.

    I agree. There are some customers who rely on the reviews of other people. If they saw that they can trust you, they will definitely create a transaction with you. With a lot of online businesses out there, you should be one of those businesses who can create traffic transactions with trust. Social proof of sales is a good way to show the world how trustworthy you are.

    I would not have to disagree with you on this. I, myself, as a customer, I always depend on reviews that real customers leave on social media pages. I patiently read and make sure that I am pretty sure with the business status before I place my order online.

    Same here, I also depend on the reviews of other people before buying that item. Usually, I read some blogs or watch some review videos to make sure that the product is worth it. Also, I would check on the seller if he/she is trustworthy since I already experienced a scam before.

    There is indeed a high risk in being scammed when purchasing online. A lot of online businesses are practicing fraud/ scamming. Nonetheless, we buyers, should be very cautious all the time. Checking on seller's profiles, reading reviews and feedback will definitely help us avoid scammers.

    The review is very potent because I also check the reviews although I cannot say that I believe the review at face value. Last week I was looking for a new camera as a gift to my husband and I had been checking the sites with a review especially with the comments of the users. Those reviews helped me a lot in making a decision on what to buy because a camera is not cheap and I have to be sure of what to buy.

    As long as your social proof are very convincing, I'm very sure that it's going to be very effective in getting people to participate and patronize in your business products and services.

    Nobody wants or appreciate dealing with fake or scams, so offering them a good deal with proof that you are legit will definitely have them trusting you.

    Yes. The method is proven method and the method is true. But unfortunately after showing the proof on my website about my previous orders- I am not getting the new orders. May be this is not ideological but this is very much true. I hope this situation will be get remove soon. I shall start getting order again.

    Its true- if I show the proof than I shall get more and more orders and the new clients will get a faith about to buy the products from online.

    I have seen people making use of the twitter cards and the facebook posts inside their wordpress post. And they used that to increase the credibility of the page or post. And that is often practiced by many as well. I mean those who want to build their own pages and websites they often tend to do that. And something like that is expected when you want to promote the brands.

    I could not disagree anymore. There are indeed a lot people using Twitter cards and Facebook posts inside their word press post because it honestly increases the credibility of the page. Promoting and establishing a business with the help of social media platforms are greatly helpful.

    I think except the landing page where they use the screenshot instead of the link to the actual draft of the twitter card and the facebook post. Most of the landing page usually prefer to have the only the button to click for the product. But overall I think adding credibility definitely helps out in many ways.

    They're are definitely going to help you make huge sales. To me, there are things that you shouldn't be overlooking when you are into some form of business and this app is one of them. When you have them on your site, they help the people that visit the site to make purchases make a quick decision and not be confused.

    I have used it and have also seen lots of online business where they are used and I can very much guarantee you that it's very efficient and effective in helping you to promote your business sales with the use of social proof and social media.     E-commerce sites such as Jumia and Konga that are in my country have been making use of this plugins to assist their customers to make a decision of which product to buy and the ones that is good to be left alone. One other thing is that you are also going to see the need to get better at the sales that you make since the customer will see that actually, you are selling those products as well.

    I know both Jumia and Konga but have only used Jumia to make few online purchases. The online store has some great deals which they offer at affordable prices and there delivery services is among the best I have seen so far in all the online stores we have today in my country. The only thing that I don't love much about Jumia is its too much bombardment of ads to my mail.

    Social proof of sales not only boost trust but also if you are an affiliate marketer and you see the vendor showing off the products that are selling you have a better idea of what to promote at your affiliate marketing website. If people come to your site and buy the products, it still makes the seller happy.

    When I want to buy something I always check for social proof. I always make sure that someone has used the item and has benefited from the item. I look for reviews from real person. Therefore, I believe that when I am selling, my buyers are also looking for social proof.

    It's basically like a transparency window for customers to see if the vendor is legit. Lots of online social media vendors do this. They'd take a picture of their client's testimony and sometimes even the package itself already wrapped up. They'd even require the customers sometimes upon receiving the package to take a photo so they'd post on their feeds.

When people get to see more than 100 people who already used the products and deemed it necessary to drop back to the site and give good reviews about how good the product is and how they are satisfied with it, anyone who comes to check out such products and services will be easy to trust the seller or affiliate marketer.

    Reviews posted on the website is also good, however, it is difficult to trust those reviews because they might be fake or manipulated. As a freelancer, I have been paid to do reviews and I always gave 5 star reviews. Here lies the importance of social proof. If you see that someone you know has used the product and says it is good, you can always trust their judgements.

The issue of paid and untruthful reviews is one problem that has plagued some of online business and its all the fault of some of these business owners who are looking for any possibility of getting increased sales. So, clients have to just careful dealing with any online business.

    I really agree with you. Some reviews can be fake or manipulated. I think the best reviews are coming from the persons you know very well and can tell you the truth about the product. They won't let you use a product that is not really good.

    Woocommerce goes very well with WordPress, I have seen it used on several sites anchored on WordPress and it looks very good especially when you are good at what you do.     I do reckon this kind of marketing works as even I have bough an item or two from these so called social proofs. It's just more convenient knowing that other people bought this item too and other related items that compliments what I'm currently looking at. It just makes the shopping experience more faster. Plus "a lot of people bought it so I guess it's good" mentality is great.

    I totally agree with this because you ca never fool people these days. Once you have proof, theres always a chance that people will buy it and ask question on it. There this one time, I was interested about buy a bow really can find where, good thing my friend from my social media post it that they got for that day. So what I didi I contacted my friend and asked if the materials are good and they said its fine. So I purchased 2. Now I always buy to them as their loyal customer.     When I make a purchase, I also check the number of the customers who tried the product. I read the nagative and positive comments. I don't care if there are still negative reviews, as long as the number of positive reviews is greater, I will purchase it. I believe that some negative reviews are not true and just want to ruin the name of the product. I also believe that there is no product in this world that has no negative feedback.

    I agree that social proofs of sale are really effective to gain more traffic. It is like showing your customers that they can trust you and your transactions. It will create trust between you and your customer that wil lead your business into success. Also, other patforms could really come in handy in boosting up your earnings. That's why you should also consider on purchasing a small amount of investment to sites that could really help you gain more traffic.     Most people may not readily buy something from just any website. Providing social proof is what they need to show them that they have nothing to fear because others already have bought the product or service from that site.

    As for reviews and testimonials they too lend some credibility to your site but lately there have been reports of people hiring people to write fake testimonials and reviews so prospective customers might still be a little wary even if they see positive reviews on your site.
