Why going to or speaking at live events are great for your profits

Not many people like talking to potential customers over the phone, and they really don't like public speaking, but going to or participating at a live event has tremendous benefits for you and your business.  If you want to be a guest speaker at one of these events, you'll likely have to get on the radar of the hiring manager who books everything, but that isn't too difficult if you can figure out who they are.  Publish a massive amount of high-quality content on your own website or blog, send them an email and say something like "If you ever need some additional speakers, please contact me at (email here), and I'd love to chat a bit about what we could work on".  You'd be surprised how often they will respond and likely set something up with you on a small scale as a sort of test run for their bigger events!

Now, you don't even have to speak at these live events in order to boost your profits, you just have to attend and talk to individuals one on one in order to start pushing yourself as a professional.  You can hand out business cards to people you've talked to, or take it one step further and actually be a sponsor, which will get your business cards in every goodie bag that goes to the attendees Why going to or speaking at live events are great for your profits

Below are a few things you need to think about when it comes to attending or speaking at live events, such as:

The younger generation likes live events
Not everyone gets drawn to these live events, but the younger generations tend to flock to them like they're the event of the year that needs to be attended.  If you can target the younger generations, you can likely build your clientele full of people who will be loyal to your services for much longer than someone who is older.

Live events are great marketing channels
If you're speaking at these live events, then you already know they are great for marketing purposes, but you don't always have to be the one speaking in order to get publicity.  I mentioned the sponsorships that will get your business card or flyer in all the goodie bags, but there are also options to sponsor other things that will get your banner on stage when people are speaking or you can get added into all of the emails that are going out to the attendees.

If you're going to learn, you'll likely see all the promotional options in effect, and you might get some ideas of how you can use them for your own purposes later on when you made more money and want to attend next year Why going to or speaking at live events are great for your profits

Events can now be measured for performance
If you're handing out business cards or getting them placed in goodie bags, you will want to put some sort of discount code on there that can be tracked to that specific event.  This will show you how effective your marketing was at that event because you can see how often the coupon code is being used.

If you hand out 100 coupons, and 10 are used, then you have a 10% conversion rate which is actually pretty good.  Now, if you have a team of people and you hand out 10,000 business coupons and only 50 people respond.... well, that's not that great and now you know you either need to tweak your approach or exclude that event from your list of things you need to attend next year.

Big brands are setting up events for marketing purposes
There are massive brands around the world spending millions of dollars on events just to get people to attend and see all of their own branding.  You'd be amazed at how often you see a company branding themselves at their own events in order to boost profits in the long run.

You can do this on a smaller scale, and boost your sales gradually, just be sure you know what it costs to rent out a ballroom or event center before you start advertising the event lol.

They're not going away anytime soon
These big public events and gatherings are extremely fun to attend, and that's why they're not going away anytime soon.  Most of the time there isn't any violence at these events, and if there is it's likely a very small percentage of the people who will then be banned from future events, so these massive get-togethers will only get better as time goes on.

In conclusion
These big events are going to be great for your profits because you can brand yourself through advertisements and promotions or you can simply talk to people one on one and boost sales that way.  You can not only learn a few things while you're at these events, you can build your clientele list, and that's a win-win in my book Why going to or speaking at live events are great for your profits

Live events are always amazing networking opportunities. You can make more connections in one night a convention than you can in a whole week of cold calling or sending emails to strangers online. Never underestimate the power of breaking the ice.
