AMP for E-mails and Gmail

Recently Google announced at a conference that AMP and emails might become a thing, especially for Gmail.

What do AMP-based emails bring new to the table?
Well because the email hasn't really changed for years now, AMP might be a real revolution, integrating new features like:

  • Updates for content in real life.
  • Direct interaction between content and user.
  • You won't need to exit your email app or browser windows and in theory, this will up your productivity level because almost everything can be done from the email itself.

So whoever said a few years ago that the email would die in the future was hugely wrong, myself included.
I now believe email is here to stay; it is one of those things that things that make up the internet and nothing can function without it online.

Even though Google clearly once to monopolize everything online with this AMP project (and other projects), I don't think Google necessarily dose a bad thing by starting this AMP in emails idea.

Currently, AMP for emails is open source, and programmers are encouraged to test and develop stuff with this new technology.

What do you think about news coming from Google and overall AMP project?

Well it's good news for people who's into email marketing now using Google's amp technology one can open links automatically using a stripped down version of html amp webpages. It's Google's answer to Facebooks I think 'instant pages' ? But anyway the faster to load and open a page the better. Accelerated Mobile Pages should have been the norm ages ago.

Mobile browser is now holding the majority over the computer browsers that internet sites are seemingly in panic to adjust to the present norm. AMP is getting to be a necessity since sites should be friendly to mobile browsers. And now Gmail has implemented its own AMP so that the emails will be automatically adjusted to the design of the mobile pages.

One good aspect of Google as a team that I've noticed is that they keep working round to ensure that their customers grt the very best when it comes to service. This new feature of email will ensure that many get to benefit in the way they manage their email list.

It seems like a good project. Because emails as it is are not responsive. And we have to zoom for some of the time. And google to some extent can help. But not a long term option with the google. I guess in that context you can see that email needs to have some way to make things responsive. Even if the text based mail is send it should be readable. Not sure how google plans on doing AMP with that.

Sure this is a good news for a freelancer who works on a lot of windows and application, I can 't wait for the implementation of this project. Whether google's intention is to monopolize everything that is okay, some people say it is a product of C%%I$$A (you know what I mean right) I still don't care as long as it makes the life of people easier.

Pardon me for this speculation but I think that AMP is a way to deviate the people’s minds on Facebook. To be blunt, Facebook is more of a giant now that even Google is no match. Take note that Google+ failed to match even a fraction of Facebook so they are thinking of a way to topple the big guy. And if the email is revived for communication then the Facebook messenger may be losing some users. But personally, I don’t think there is a threat to the supremacy of Facebook so Google should think of another gimmick.

I will have to oppose with your point "Facebook is more of a giant now that even Google is no match." Facebook of course is a giant, however, I don't think Facebook can match with Google. Well Google failed to topple facebook and facebook messenger with Google + and Google Duo. However, Google has many other products that have a large market share. Webmasters can use Google adwords, adsense, analytics, even blogspot and youtube.

I think it's really a good news for those who's into e-mails. I'm always using my emails because of my job, and some interested site I visited. Emails is the most descent and reliable source of information coming from your client or to anyone. I hope that their next update is for some spams messages. I'm tired of receiving random messages.

I had never heard of AMP prior to this discussion, but anything that would make email more expedient I am all for. It sounds AMP is an improvement in current email technology and something that you might want to consider using when you are doing business online. It is something I will have to look into further.

Could someone please care to explain what AMP is exactly? I read the topic but I still can't seem to grasp what it actually is. Is it something that would basically allow live updates with emails so turning it almost into an instant chat?

This is a perfect move by Google in making sure that they have bigger market share. The team has been doing an excellent job in the sense that you hardly get to a point where there will be talks of the customers not getting the kind of treatment that they want. So, I'm optimistic that the Amp move will make voices heard

I'm fine with Google's AMP project. Even though I don't have a mobile device, I know that the rest of the world does. So I just better adapt! I'm looking up discussions at this site ad around the web on this topic.
