How to overlap your marketing and optimization for the best results

When you start working with a website, you always think about how you're going to bring in sales, but you never really think of overlapping techniques and methods to bring in the best results.  I've been doing online marketing since 2003 and have been one of the many people who focus on one marketing tactic or optimization method and forgot to overlap things to help boost my success.  You don't have to feel bad about getting too involved with one thing, it's pretty normal when we're learning about something, but we need to catch ourselves before we start to slip in other sections of our business and begin to create problems along the way.

When it comes to overlapping your marketing and optimization, you need to think of SEO and PPC, because those will be 2 things you can do at the same time and be successful in a shorter amount of time.  That's why in this discussion I'll be going over how you can overlap the two in order to get the best results possible.

Optimize your website and content for best rankings
This is a pretty obvious thing, but many people pass it up, so you'll need to stay attentive when it comes to optimizing your pages for better rankings.  You'll need to go over your Titles, Descriptions, Images (alt tags), your content, your navigation, your interlinking, and be sure your website is responsive (mobile friendly) in order to stay competitive in the rankings.

If you're not focusing on all of those, you'll likely have a much harder time topping the rankings and you will likely come back to a forum or blog saying that SEO is dead and doesn't work.

Set up a PPC campaign and target exact keywords
A lot of people run PPC campaigns, but they target broad match keywords, which isn't as easy to manage.  Think about it, your putting your ad on something that is related to the keyword you're bidding for, not the actual keyword you want to show up for.  This means if you sell an iPhone repair service, and bid on "iPhone 8 Repair", you could show up for any type of iPhone repair related keyword and you might not be fixing the original iPhone or an iPhone 5 and that means you're wasting money on a click.

Broad targeting isn't a bad thing, but you shouldn't think of doing it until you're already successful with exact match targeting.  This is because you want to make sure everything is perfect before you start taking chances.

Add dozens of unique and optimized articles to your website/blog
Content is one of the best things you can do which doesn't cost you any money because you can write it all yourself.  You can outsource your content creation to a credible writer if you don't know what you're doing, and they can hammer out a bunch of articles for your website.

Your content will need to be optimized so the search engines understand what you're writing about, which is pretty normal, so be sure to tell your freelance writer you need this done if you do outsource your content.

Publish content on high authority websites
Similar to the content on your own website, you will want to post optimized content on 3rd party websites to boost your own authority and rankings, which will bring in more sales.  By getting your content, and links, on big publications within your niche you can get more people noticing you online through the actual websites you're being published on as well as the increased rankings that are now sending in traffic.

Contact niche related websites and partner with them
Not as many companies are doing this, and I'm not sure why, but it's a great way to share traffic and customers.  Obviously, you won't want to partner with a backlink company if you are also a backlink company, but you could partner with a content writing agency if you're a backlink company, and you won't step on anyone's toes when it comes to client acquisition How to overlap your marketing and optimization for the best results

In conclusion
Everything I've written above can be done at the same time, likely within the same day, and massively scaled upwards.  Work on your website, set up a PPC campaign and target exact keywords, partner with niche related businesses that don't exactly do what you do, and add plenty of optimized content to your website in order to boost your rankings for long-tailed keywords.  If you can overlap all of that, you will make more money through your website and bring in a lot of readers at the same time How to overlap your marketing and optimization for the best results

I think some of the high authority niche sites may not allow the guest posting. But they can be approached though. It can be good in terms of SEO. Also it can be a good idea for building the brand. And some referral traffic can be sent your way like this. And that is something we should be thinking in that case. I think it's good to try that approach for those building the authority website.

I think that many sites allow guest posting, but I guess it goes on a case by case basis, some might and some might not so I guess you need to find out the policy on guest posting before deciding you want to do that on a particular site.

I guess sites like say livestrong.com etc don't allow guest posting. As they have army of writers of their own. And they are authority with some of the niche. And they get a lot of traffic. So it depends on how the guest posting system is placed. As of now I didn't find anything that strong to be honest.

Yes, if a site has their own writers they use it makes sense that they would not allow guest posting. I really think it has to do with their particular set up as to what and when they may allow guest posting.

I think sites or the blogs with limited writers or solo blogger. Those are the people who are going to accept the guest posting. Because they constantly want to improve their content. And they want to reach more people and the content in due time. I guess on that note you can see that marketing projects require better domain authority and approachable guest post section.

Yes, I agree with this. It defintely makes sense and it is a theory that I think will be proven over time, if it hasn't been already.I haven't looked into guest posting that much, but I know it is available on some sites and not others.

Yes there are always some level of challenges. Like for some niche it may work out. And for other niche it may not work out. But you can see that people try to find out what may work in such case. And it seems to be that in general guest posting does bring traffic.

I am confused with referral traffic because I had read in one discussion that referral traffic from obscure or bad sites can harm your site. I don’t know what that really meant that’s why I am asking it here. But with the subject of this discussion, I guess big sites with authority will not accept your guest posting because obviously you are just riding on the popularity of that site.

Referral traffic comes in different ways. For example affiliate marketing and social media influence links are coming into referral traffic. So here you have to track them before you can think of quantifying that data. I'd say that marketing is not that easier from what I have seen.

Adding a dozen optimized articles is not difficult although it is not that easy either. For a blog to have a dozen new articles will take time if your update is on a weekly basis so maybe you can make uploads twice a week. Anyway, I know that it is an advantage to the website if the articles have unique contents with substance particularly important and relevant information. And when the search engine checks your site, it can cause to have a higher ranking. But it takes time, mind you.

Yeah, it is important to stress out that success does not happen overnight and even when you get there, you need to have the motivation to stay there and be consistent to maintain your position. All of this takes time and resources, and you need to have the patience in order to maintain a blog and produce quality articles every week.

Partnering with a niche related website is an effective way for me in attracting new clients and this is the first time I've heard that it could lead to SEO. Great Article!

Yes, and also if you guest post on someone's website they may in turn guest post on yours. It is something that should be rather simple to do. I would make sure that you have a host of friends you can post on their sites and vice versa.

Precisely it's like 'I'll scratch your back and you scratch mine.'. The best thing about it is there's no downside and it's very easy to do on both sides.

When you optimize your website and web contents for search engines, your website position on SERP will substantially improve. When your website and web pages appear on the top search results, you will get organic traffic, Organic traffic converts better. However, you cannot rely too much on your SEO effort because over the course of time your rank will fluctuate. In order to ensure that you get regular traffic, you need to market on search engines as well as social media.

Ensuring that we add some great contents to our site once in a while is one of the best ways that we are going to make things work perfectly well for us. I have taken a look and come to notice that website owners that always try as much as they could when it comes to updating their sites with fresh contents now have the upper hand when we are talking of getting ranked higher in Seo.
