How to keep your best websites from getting boring

In the world of website marketing, the websites that can keep things from getting boring tend to be the ones that live the longest and get the most attention.  You can do various things, such as: adding fresh content daily, having a fun atmosphere so people engage with you more, sending out great newsletters to pull people back in, having seasonal discounts and offers to keep people on their toes when it comes to save money, and many more!

A boring website might make a sale here and there, but they will never be the king of the industry like all of us try to become.  Sure, you can set up some PPC ads and write up a few articles, but you'll never keep people intrigued about what your next post or service is unless you keep it from getting boring, and keep it fun!  In this discussion I'll be going over how you can keep your best websites from getting boring, because that's a business killer.  You will want to do various things, such as:

Always update with fresh content
People see adding great content to your website as a way to boost your search engine rankings because you can target more keywords with your targeting.  Another reason unique content is great is because it's fresh and people want to read something they've never come across.  Think about it, if you were to start reading something about a niche or industry, and you've never read anything like it before, you'd likely remember that website and come back time and time again to see what was going on.  You'd likely check for facts when reading this content, and if you find people talking about little details of the entire article, you will then see them the main website as a source of great information, and you'll come back later on to see what new blog posts have been published, I know I do lol How to keep your best websites from getting boring

Fresh content keeps your website from getting boring because the longer you're blogging, the more content you eventually accumulate, and the more content a person can sift through.  If they get to the same article 3 or 4 times, they will see your site as pretty boring, and they will not come back.

Be fun and people will engage with you
If you have a fun personality, you need to show it through your design and content, then people will begin to engage with you on social media and even on your blog.  People will want to talk with someone that is easy going and fun, so if you can portray yourself as that, you can usually keep your pages active and that means more money in the long run How to keep your best websites from getting boring

A boring website will be one that has the comments of blog posts shut off, mainly because they don't want to talk to anyone, which gets the readers to also shut down on the website and not want to come back.  Let them speak!  Don't be afraid of what they're going to say, you never know where their words can take you How to keep your best websites from getting boring

Send out great newsletters to pull people back in
If you're already doing the above points, and killing it, You can start sending out newsletters to bring people back into your content and get them to engage a second or third time How to keep your best websites from getting boring  People who sign up for your newsletters want to hear from you, they aren't signing up to them because they want you to send them something once a year, so take advantage of their willingness to get emails and send them updates!

Of course, you can't really abuse their trust in your newsletters, so don't send them 10 emails a week.  If you start to just spam them with every new blog post you make, they will unsubscribe, and that's never a good thing for list growth lol.

Set up seasonal discounts and offers
This is actually one of the best ways to keep your website from getting boring, because people will see your new promotion or discount and see it as a fun little thing you come up with during the holidays.  You can do this for literally any holiday, and you can even geo target your drop down notices so certain holidays only show in specific regions of the world that celebrate that specific holiday.

You can keep it fun with the images and wording on the seasonal discounts, which will be taken as a fun little thing you didn't have to do.  People won't always sign up with you, but you will keep them coming back and then they will also share your new promos How to keep your best websites from getting boring

Adding a custom 404 page
When I first started doing this, it was more fun for me because I was creating a bunch of things that I loved, but I finally settled on one 404 page and use it for a lot of my websites.  Ok, I'll tell you what it was because I'm excited to talk about it lol.  If you ever played Zelda, you know who Link is, and you might know where I'm going with this already lol.  Well, Link was the main character in Zelda (yeah, his name wasn't Zelda) and I had an image of him dead on my 404 page, which said "Dead Link".  Get it?  GET IT!?!?!?!  A 404 page usually pops up because you clicked on a dead link lololol How to keep your best websites from getting boring How to keep your best websites from getting boring How to keep your best websites from getting boring

Ok, now back down to earth lol.  Custom 404 pages will make people feel like they found a page that not many people land on, because they don't usually, and you'll be creating a custom experience for the user who enjoys the custom page to a common 404 page that says it's an error.  Try it out and let me know what you come up with How to keep your best websites from getting boring

In conclusion
There are dozens, maybe hundreds, of ways to keep your website from getting boring and I suggest you try out at lease a few.  If your website is deemed "boring" you will see your traffic start to fall off and that's never a good thing for sales.  If you rely on your traffic, you will want to keep them engaging with all of your amazing content, so give them a way to engage with you and don't shut off your comments on your blog posts or social media pages How to keep your best websites from getting boring  If you can do all of this, you should be able to build up your website better than your competitors who likely aren't doing even a single one of these How to keep your best websites from getting boring

Great post here--I never thought about using a 404 page myself. That is a pretty cool idea. I also very much agree with your point about always updating and developing the content on the page so that it is crisp, current, and relevant. Your tone in this post is "fun" and upbeat, and your point about being "fun" for your audience is also a good one--I think it is always a good idea, even when times are tough, to try to project a positive attitude. Everyone has their difficulties, but our customers and not coming to us to hear about ours!

Yeah, I usually have an upbeat attitude when I'm writing up content, and that's likely why people come to read whatever I type up lol How to keep your best websites from getting boring That's also just my personal writing style, which is different than what I do for clients because they all won't like the fun and easy going style when they want the content to be more "corporate" like and have big fancy words in it lol How to keep your best websites from getting boring

A positive attitude, even when you're bummed, is something that you have to portray in your writing because people can't hear you speaking the content, so they need to understand the emotions while they read through everything. If you're upbeat in the content, the readers will be more excited to read it and leave happy How to keep your best websites from getting boring

When I was a contributor to a blog, the blogger told me that he was lacking in time to write his blogs so he needed help from other writers. He said that a blog should always be current to mean you have to upload at least 3 times a week for the benefit of the readers. Once you miss your publication schedule some readers may not come back anymore. With the new content, the reader can at least find something new.

I have over a dozen blogs and websites. It is difficult to update all of these websites and blogs with fresh content regularly. However, I try my best to publish fresh contents once in a while. I also try to bring traffic on my posts by sharing on facebook pages and twitter. I am yet to make most from Pinterest, however, I am also using Pinterest to share my contents.
I also try to encourage engagements on my websites.I have never considered using 404 page but I think this is a good idea.

The more websites you put up, the more work you're putting on your plate each week. Try not to launch any more websites until your current ones are bringing in traffic and sales. That way you won't burn yourself out and begin to realize all of your websites are starting to slip.

Custom 404 pages put smiles on peoples faces if you do them right. No one likes landing on a 404 page, but if it's funny and envokes a positive emotion from the visitors, they will notice you took an extra step to make sure they had a good time on your website How to keep your best websites from getting boring

Content and design are key in this really. Keep your website continuously updated with fresh and new content. Also tinker with the design or overhaul it every few years. Adding new integration for social media, video and related items works well also. Makes your site more interactive.

I think regularly changing the content also helps with the site not getting boring. And one has to add the money into the website and for that reason design also plays out. You can have the good design and the content. You can see that having good logo and funny content also helps out. As that way the content gets inside the mind of the people. That's something many people can't pull off in such case. I'd say you can surely find some really good websites that can be help in that case.

I doubt I could create great content daily. Maybe one a month. It really absorbs my energy with research before writing

Having fresh contents every day might be good but there is also a drawback. This is not only tiring but also might take you to a saturation level when you can no longer write, or chase away your regular readers as there are "too many posts." I think publishing one post every week is a great way to make your website relevant and not lose your regular readers.

yes I agree with you, once a week is better than daily. Readers may get sick and tired of looking at your blog and updating non related or personal stuff might put off the interest in reading too. Update only the questions that people are seeker for. Give them the answers.

Daily updates are a great way to bring in thousands of new visitors each week. You don't have to push your new content in front of every reader, but having the fresh content for them to willingly go through is what you should do. You don't have to send out emails each and every day linking to new content because THAT is what will annoy them and you will begin to see your traffic slipping.

I don't send out email to my followers. I write recipe blog, so I just update my new recipe once a month although I cook everyday and bake every month. Funny thing is I don't have anyone commenting just follower.s

Fresh content is extremely important. No one is going to visit a website or blog that still only contains old information and content. No one wants to know about things that were only relevant in the past. Update your website or blog regularly to make sure that the information presented on it is accurate and relevant for today. Another important thing is design, if your design feels a bit outdated, then redesign your site a bit.

Having fresh contents on your website is important, however, equally important is updating your old content. You should also emphasize on updating your old articles, especially the articles that have lost relevance.

I think those are really neat ideas but I certainly don't have the technical expertise to do something like create a 404 page. It just isn't in the cards for me. I think it would be one of the things that I would have to turn over to someone else to do.

Fresh content is no doubt important. There was a time when I was so busy with my offline business and I couldn't post on my blog that often. As a result the traffic to my blog reduced and with it my earnings. People are always craving for something new and interesting. If you can't satisfy the needs of the visitors to your blog then you will be the one to lose. I love interacting with the visitors as it is fun to answer their questions and also learn from them.

Fresh contents creates room for more discussion on the forum and this ensures that things get enjoyable and fun for all members in the forum or blog. With few and old contents available in the forum will definitely make it a boring association for everyone and with no distant time, most people would stop visiting the forum because there is nothing to talk or discuss about in the platform.

Also adding few promotional specs in the forum like a competition which would get the members in making a few bucks is certainly going to make things get heated up in the forum. I've never seen where forum members say no to making a few added cash, so therefore it would make the forum more enjoyable and fun for everyone.

I have notice that stores in the mall and even the entire mall itself are having those seasonal discount offers. Every 2 months at least, the decorations of the mall will be changed and that is the indication of an upcoming sale where every store have their discount offers. It is like a festival that serves as a magnet for customers. If your website has something like that then I’m sure your business will get more sales because your followers will be invigorated.

Updating the website is a must. Obsolete website are boring because what you see today are also the same yesterday. Adding something that can attract the interest of person are very good way to maintain your site and also it make it more productive. Suggestion page are also a nice section for you to know what your viewers are thinking.
