Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees

Hiring a freelancer to come in and do the work instead of hiring a full time employee is what a lot of companies are now doing to save massive amounts of money.  Think about it, you could hire someone at $35 an hour and have them on the schedule for 40 hours a week and that would come out to roughly $3,600 a month.  Now that's not a lot for big corporations, and they'd likely pay more, but this is just an example so stick with me lol.  If a corporation was paying an employee $3,600 a month to do basic tasks, they might start thinking of how they can save money, and that means outsourcing could be removing you from your position.  It's a sad thing to think of, but if you're the boss and had to make a decision like this to save money, you would start outsourcing the jobs that were easier and took less experience to complete, and that's the $35 an hour starter jobs.

A company can outsource work to the Philippines and pay someone with experience $450 a month, yeah that's right, they would save $3,300 a month because now they're paying around $3.88 an hour and they now have someone they don't have to train.  I myself outsource work to the Philippines because they learn English from kindergarten all the way through high school, which means there isn't a language barrier to deal with like if you were to outsource work to India where they only learn English for when they want a job when they're older.  I actually have a few business partners in the Philippines that started out as freelancers, but I loved their work so much that we started up our own services and share the profits Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees  Not having a language barrier with someone and paying them much less than I could a person down the street is always an amazing thing when it comes to an ROI Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees

In this discussion I'll be going over why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of a full time employee, and those reasons are:

Free up your own time to focus on bigger things
Bringing on a freelancer will free up a lot of your own time, which means you can focus on the bigger picture instead of focusing on a single thing that might actually take up most of your day.  Think of SEO, the process takes a long time to learn and even longer to actually implement correctly, so if you were to outsource this task to a credible freelancer with experience, you can fre up hours of your own time each day and focus on lead generation or creating quality content for your blog to help out the freelancer that is doing your SEO Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees

If you don't have to focus on every single thing that deals with your business, you will be able to take a step back and see how everything works with each of your systems of people.  Your eyes will open up, and you will see vulnerabilities or weak points in your entire process, and now you can make your business structure even better than you thought it was Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees

Freelancers might know more than you do
I like to think I'm smart, but only because I know that there are people out there that know more than I do, which is what you should also be like.  I was always taught to strive to be the best at anything I do because there is always someone out there that is better than I am at something.  If I wanted to be the best, I had to constantly practice and implement what I learned in real life situations or at jobs.  If you think like this, you will easily be able to find a freelancer that is better at something than you are because they focused solely on one thing related to your business and can do the job better than you can.

You can't let your ego get in the way of making a decision to bring on someone that is smarter, and possibly better, at something than you are.  There is an immense talent pool out there, and if you don't want to tap into it, you're just holding back your own company from being great.

You can get them for cheaper than hiring a full time employee
A freelancer is usually much cheaper than bringing on a full time employee because they're doing situational work and not doing something for you each and every day.  If you have an employee, you can't really have them do a certain task and then fire them when they're done, that's how you kill a company through bad reviews lol.  Instead, you'll be hiring freelancers that will come in and do a certain task, or a few of them, and get paid for the work then leave and possibly come back in a month or even next year.  Think of them as people who are there to save the day when you can't do it yourself, they're your batman Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees

Bringing on a freelancer will save you a lot of money compared to a full time employee because they are not only cheaper per hour, but you don't have to pay them during down times like you would an employee.  Your freelancers get the job done and move on to their next project while an employee waits for work to come up and gets paid during the between times, which can hurt your bank account.

You have access to a larger talent pool
I touched on this briefly above, but there are a massive amount of credible freelancers out there that can do the job you're needing done, and they could be much smarter than you at the same time lol.  If you're not tapping into this massive pool of talent, you're just being dumb and untrusting of people you can't see face to face.

It amazes me at how many large corporations still have thousands of full time employees on payroll when they could easily go 100% remotely operated and save hundreds of thousands of dollars, or even millions, each year just on payroll Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees  Obviously, if you're a "Made in America" type of company, you'll want to avoid bringing in hundreds or thousands of freelancers to do the work for you because you want everything "In House" which would be within the borders of the US Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees

In conclusion
Freelancers are there to do the jobs you don't want to do, or the ones you can't do on your own, because they know how to do it and are willing to take less money than you normally would pay an employee to do the job.  Freelancers power the internet services, even if you think you're working with a solid company that has everything in house, they're likely outsourcing to freelancers so they can have a better ROI as well lol Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees  Tap into the vast pool of experience, knowldege, and talent by bringing on some freelancers to save you time and money Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees

I think the biggest advantage of hiring a freelancer over a full-time employee is definitely the fact that it will cost you less. Freelancers tend to accept jobs at a much lower wage compared to somebody that's looking for a full-time job.

Also, it's easier to hire freelancers and then "let them loose" after the project is done. If you hire somebody for full-time it might be tricky firing them if they don't fit the criteria later on.

It's not just about wages, but also about saving on taxes, insurance, stress and many more things. so it gives business owners to choose higher priced freelancers with good experience and quality and yet save the money.

Definitely, and you can hire someone at their normal full time salary if you target countries like the Philippines Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees

I can literally pay someone with a degree in marketing $750 a month to do work for me. That would normally cost me $75,000 a year here in the USA Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees

So the money I save by outsourcing my work actually puts me in the position to hire someone better than I could here on US soil lol Why your business needs to consider hiring freelancers instead of full time employees

It is definitely cheaper to hire a freelancer for the work instead of an employee because an employee is given a fixed income and regular work while a freelancer can work on a contract basis only which means you don’t need to pay when there is no work to do. Besides the freelancer charges less maybe because of the competition that as the client you can haggle for a good price for the job.

I think hiring freelancers has its merit but sometimes you want to build a bond-friendly and bond-rich work environment. In order to do that, you might need steady employees instead of a revolving door of freelancers. I would suggest if you're going to bring in freelancers, stick to 2 or 3 specific ones for your specific needs.

This is actually great tips for business owners and i always suggest hiring quality freelancers instead of part time employees or even full time. Once the business owner get in touch with reliable freelancer, it's easy to do good job, save money on payments and taxes, plus it's less stressful. Nowadays it's so much easier to deal with this kind of business relations and it's easy to find good freelancers anywhere in hte world, plus it doesn't have to be local person at all

It doesn't have to be a local hire true but it should be someone you can reach quite easily.

I have full-time employees for my brick and mortar business, however, I have never hired full-time employees for my online business. I hire freelancers as needed. I business is small and makes little money. Having a full-time employee will give me a lot of financial obligations. Well, if I have a full time freelancer, my business could grow little big, however, what's the point when I have to pay him full time salary. I might have a fulltime employee some day, but currenctly I am find working with freelancers.

@vinya The only full-time employee an online business needs should be the people or person who keep the site and all its bells and whistles running. That way if it crashes or develops a glitch, it can be fixed immediately... so things can run smoothly again. Time is money after all.

True. However, it is also difficult to run the online business when you are dealing with too many websites. I have two ecommerce sites and four blogs. I am not earning a good revenue because I have been unable to give time. These days I am more focused on working for clients. If I do not work for clients, I will make no money. I have to focus on working for clients because that's how I earn my living. My motive of launching these sites was to earn enough so that I do not have to ghostwrite for clients.

That seems like a bit much. Some people would consider downsizing and pulling the plug on the less successful sites of the group, or if possible... merge a few of the sites together.

I think freelancers can be a good fit for the tasks which are small and take time. And I think instead of paying people full time this can be adding up more into the work force. And that in itself can be really good. I would say that working all the time and getting paid more for less work. I guess freelancers are lot better in that sense.

I agree. Not all tasks done in companies need highly-trained professionals. Sometimes individuals with enough skills can execute the necessary jobs for the company. This is probably why they've started to hire freelancers more often.

Yes and automation is going to reduce the cost of many professionals. And on that point you can see that it'd be not much reasonable to make use of the full time employee. I personally find the freelancers better. But some of the time you have to hire someone who is into small tasks and charges good.

I see why they're appealing to most companies. They really are flexible and cost less while still getting the job done. And it's also probably because they won't have to worry about providing additional benefits. Like bonus salary and health care.

I think the biggest benefit is that you can pick and choose different freelancers for the various jobs that you need to be done. For example, your employees may have a fixed set of skills. If you need something done but none of your employees can do it, you need to spend extra time and money finding someone that can do it. But if you hire freelancers, all you need to do is to just hire a freelancer that can do that particular job.

From my experience and observations with freelancers, they are always good at their job because it's what puts cash into their pockets and giving excellent service is what they live for which puts them in a position to being referred to other jobs that needs their expertise. But when you do a horribl job as a freelancer, that certainly marks the end of you being given any job again by that same person.

I guess full time employees will demand benefits and a certain compensation that will interest them to work with you. If you hire freelancers, not only you don't need to give them some benefits but also you can set your own price/payment for a certain job and you can easily find a freelancer that will fit into the description of the work that you're hiring. Freelancers are more flexible and very resourceful since they manage to find a decent job online that is really hard to find. You can also call them anytime you needed their service and that will never be a problem to them.

The evolution of freelancing has made the world a better place that we can now get the works done for us at a cheaper rate than what full-time employees can charge at the end of the week/month. This has enabled most of us that are still beginning in the world of business to do things that will make us spend less unlike when we employ staff on full-time basis.

I think a lot of companies really do try to dodge hiring regular employees as much as possible because they are more expensive and have a higher maintenance to keep up with considering all the regulations they have to put up with from the government. This is why I do think that this might be a better option indeed. I guess many people look down upon this business tactic, but I personally think it's just the natural path of the market and I don't even own a business so I'm on the other side and I still agree with businesses. Maybe I'm just missing something.

I agree that freelancers are cheaper in cost compared to an employee. I know that part because I am a freelancer. And although I am diligent when it comes to commissioned work, I cannot say that all freelancers are diligent and with quality on their mind. When you hire an employee, you can get more quality because the hired employee has confidence that he has a sort of security of tenure. You can terminate the services of a freelancer anytime but for an employee, you need to give him notice of at least a week.

No one is a master of all knowledge, this is why it's very important to outsource the jobs you don't have any clue on how to take care of to freelancers who would do an exceptional job for. Having a full time employee on a job is good but it's more costly to maintain a full-time employee unlike making use of a freelancer who you only pay once the job given him or her is completed.

Right, And you have a lot of options to choose no obligation to others who worked for you, all you have to do is to choose the best work. less tax also I think. And also you're right about they might be know better than you, maybe they have a lot of experience for being freelancer because they are not working in just one company.

Having the option of selecting the best among those freelancers that wants to work. The thing with hiring at specifically period is that it can enable the boss to have a closer look at the business and see where to improve and where not to improve. This is the reason I cannot overlook the benefits of hiring a freelancers in business.

From my time working as a freelancer, I've come to learn so much about many things in life that when I want to work for a new client, the question is not about can I do the work, but can the client be able to afford my services. This is the basic thing that makes a freelancer to be ahead of most business people as we try to look at how they can get to move the firm forward.

Hiring freelancers is a great way of getting work done without worrying too much about expenses because you are guaranteed to find someone with the necessary skillset you're looking for with a fair amount of experience for less than actually hiring employees. You can also be more flexible and try to hire those with a lower rate, since there are really good people looking to gain experience through freelancing and they really deliver with their work.

I completely agree with this. freelance working is the the work of the future. The era of hiring an office full of staff and paying them a salary is over. Its more convenient to hire freelance workers who in most cases have the experience. you can also call them when you need them. You don't have to train them like normal office staff, because they have specialized they probably have years and years of experience.
