A lot of people think you need to spend hundreds of dollars to acquire a regular client, but that's not true at all.  In fact, I've actually acquired a client for less than $2.10 and they've been with me for close to 10 years!  Now, $10 doesn't really buy you much these days, you can't even go to Starbucks and get a coffee with a muffin for less than $10 lol.  Going out to eat usually costs much more than $10, unless you're going to McDonald's and ordering off of their dollar menu.  But even if you do that, you'll have to be very strategic because $10 doesn't get you much ever there!

Think of it this way, would you pay $10 to get a client who purchases something from you that profits you $10?  If you said no, you're going to fail at anything related to websites.  There are plenty of us out there that pay more than $10 for a client, but we know they'll come back a second or even a tenth time to make a purchase.  So, in reality, we lose money on the acquisition but profit a lot in the long run.

Before I go off on how to constantly bring in traffic, and make a sale from them all while not profiting from the first sale, lets go over how you can acquire a $10 client and keep them around for a long time!


Reel them in
For this, all you need to do is set up a Facebook page.  I know you're now thinking "Oh, another Facebook marketing gimmick!" but this isn't one of those How to turn $5 into a loyal client every time 

You'll need to set up your page in a way that it will attract only the right people and push away the tire kickers.  You don't have time to answer 1,000 questions from people who have no intention of purchasing, so write up some high quality content and get super targeted with the ad you're about to set up. 

Your ad targeting will weed out all the tire kickers and only bring in the right prospects.  Now, you might not get them to purchase on their first visit, but that's not a problem at all! 


Re-targeting with Incentivized Opt-Ins
This is exactly how it sounds, you're going to use the Facebook pixel on your blog or website and set up a re-targeting campaign along side your main campaign.  This campaign will only show to those people who have already been on your website, so you know they were interested in something at some point. 

Re-targeting is a great way to get people to come back to your website and make a purchase.  There are entire businesses that credit their success to their re-targeting campaigns because they work so well.

With most re-targeting campaigns, people just think "Hey, I'll get a different ad in front of someone that was already on my website and make a sale!" but it doesn't work like that all the time.  What you'll want to do is offer them something for free such as a consultation or even a free eBook.  People love free stuff, so show them how to get that free something and they will likely opt-in to your newsletter How to turn $5 into a loyal client every time


Monetize your emails and posts
Now that you have people coming to your website for the first or second time, you should have monetized your emails and pages in some way so you can turn a profit.  People will click on your ad and go to your Facebook page or directly to your website.  After that they will either purchase something from you or, like most, they will leave and continue on their day like normal.  Your retargeting campaign will begin to kick in and you will now get those interested people coming back in, and hopefully purchasing something or signing up to your newsletter.

You don't have to spend a fortune on advertising in order to be successful. I always say - use small bits and amounts of money to fish for strong keywords and terms. Once you catch a few - that's when you start gradually spending more.

Yes, I agree, you can sometimes catch fish with a few bread crumbs so using the same analogy you can probably convert sales with just spending a little bit of money. Not everything has to be big and over the top. Small expenditures can be as good as big ones sometimes.

People are always appreciative of the little we do, we don't need thousands of dollars to reel in people with as low as 5 dollars or less it can be a sure bait to bring in clients that would profit us in the long run.I tell people don't always think about the profit of the now, it just being short-sighted.Think about the future, it is then we can think of gaining big with this ideology one is bound to succeed.

Definitely the Facebook group is one good pasture that never runs out of green grass. But how to reel them in? It is easier said than done because only those with interest to your group’s theme will be active. That means your theme should not be too common but not too rare either as to make it easier to gather members to your Facebook page. And when everything is stabilized then that’s the time you start your spiel on your business purpose.

I agree and you don't even really need to spend anything if you really didn't want to. As long as you have a good finger on the pulse of what the people want and you are able to produce it consistently enough then they will continue to flock to you for their content. Even when there are already lots of content providers out now there still is a good chance you will be able to provide something unique since we all have our own original ideas.

I think it can be really hard to retain the loyal clients which are paying 5 dollar. And one has to be working for small to high cost. Because small clients won't be paying high amount. And that means you could be spending the time elsewhere in that context. So better to spend the time wisely as well. I guess loyalty is not going to be easy if people are paying low most of the time.

RE: Point 3 ~ I'm not sure if there is a charge for the service now, but a while back I created an eMail using Wise Stamp. You can put monetized links in your signature. I also used the signature feature offered by Google gMail and MSN Hotmail when I set up my eMail addresses and put a link to a page that lists my various monetized websites and blogs.

Ah, that can seem a little spammy in general. Usually for all my business email signatures I just include a link back to the website, and if it is a mass mail, a link to unsubscribe from the emails.

I do not believe I have any $10 services to offer for my clients, or potential future clients (PFC as i call it, since i like to abbreviate everything apparently How to turn $5 into a loyal client every time ). However, this would probably help someone that is just starting out and offering low priced services.

To me, a $10 service is cheap and generally not worth it or I believe it is not worth it. I want the highest quality as possible and I am willing to pay for it. However, I can certainly see why a person would buy a $10 service as I see it happen here constantly and there are generally no real complaints about them. But for myself, I tend to stick to what I know and what is quality. If I could actually offer a service for $10 it would probably be to install a PHP script or something, but I offer that for free for my own services anyways so it is really no point to offer it for anything else.

Your guess is right that those offering services for $10 are probably just starting and just wanted to get the feel of the business. I am also thinking that maybe I would offer my services for that low price because I have to build up my client base and for starting in that field of writing one needs to show his worth. It is like a newly graduate with no work experience so you get any job that will hire you just for the sake of having the needed work experience.
