How to build organic backlinks (sort of) without spamming

When you get into website design and marketing, you will always come down the road where you need organic backlinks to help boost your rankings in order to bring in new clients. It's enticing to just spam away and get links from any website in your eyesight, but that's not the best thing you can be doing. You can't just get a backlink from anywhere, you need to be strategic when it comes to this because remember, this is your business and you need to be a professional.

Spamming your links wherever you can usually end up hurting your website and not helping it out. I've seen plenty of newbie webmasters spamming their links across hundreds of blogs, that weren't related, and then complaining that their rankings actually dropped. The rankings tend to drop because Google and the other search engines know what you're doing, they're not as dumb as you would like to think, but you shouldn't worry too much because you can always devalue the links with the disavow tool.

When it comes to building organic backlinks, you are probably thinking "Someone else is going to come to my website and like it so much that they place a link on their own website to show me some love" which is what an organic backlink is, normally... You'll need to think outside of the box a little bit if you want to overtake your competition quicker. Sure, you will probably get some people sharing your website with their friends, family, and followers but that's not going to be as quick as you'd like, so you have to take things into your own hands and do it How to build organic backlinks (sort of) without spamming

What you need to focus on when it comes to "natural backlinks"

Guest Posting
This type of backlinking has been under the microscope of Google because people were topping the search results simply by building guest posts. The thing those people were doing was getting guest posts on high authority websites and it didn't matter what the niche was. They would just get backlinks from any high authority website and get enormous benefits from them. Over time, Google switched up their search engine algorithm so that people who weren't getting high authority AND niche related backlinks to their websites wouldn't be getting the boosts they deserved.

What you'll need to do is contact every blog and website you can, that are in your niche, and ask them if you can post a 1,500+ word guest post. They will know what you're talking about, you won't have to explain what a guest post is lol. You will likely have to give them writing samples, or just list a few samples you've done in the past (even ones on your website) in order to convince them you're a good writer and will only add quality to their website.

Normally you'll get turned down or simply ignored, but there are the few websites that will respond back to you and love the idea of you coming in and writing for them. They see it as you're adding plenty of great content and not getting paid for it all for a simple link back to your website How to build organic backlinks (sort of) without spamming Some of you are saying "This isn't organic or natural at all!" but it is in a way because this is how the search engines will see it How to build organic backlinks (sort of) without spamming

Forum Sticky Threads
This is a method of getting continuous traffic to your website or service because it will always be at the top of the category or section of a forum. You can do something like this on seocheckout, and you will get plenty of potential clients coming to your service, but that's not going to help you with your SEO at all lol. What you'll need to do is go to big and small forums related to your website and see if they offer sticky threads to anyone wanting to pay for them.

If the forums you're looking through don't offer sticky threads, you will need to contact them and see if you can pay them for one How to build organic backlinks (sort of) without spamming A lot of forums are set up to stick threads with a click of a button, but they don't use it for some reason. Some forum owners don't want sticky threads, but those owners probably haven't had some cash thrown at them for one lol.

The beauty of asking for a sticky thread when they aren't available is that you might get it for a really good price. You might pay $75 a month on one forum with a decent amount of traffic and then contact another forum that has the same amount of traffic but doesn't offer stickies, and you can pay $25 because they don't know how to price it How to build organic backlinks (sort of) without spammingThe beauty of sticky threads is that you will get traffic directly from the forums, you'll get seen by the spiders more often when means your content will get indexed quicker and you will be seen as more of an authority by the viewers as well as Google because people will have conversations on your threads How to build organic backlinks (sort of) without spamming

Getting Interviewed
Interviews are what the little companies aren't getting, so if you have some out there, you'll be seen as a big company and that means you're an authority How to build organic backlinks (sort of) without spamming The great thing about these interviews is that they will be posted for everyone to see, and you'll be gaining a backlink from them.

What I love about getting interviewed is that it's almost always 100% positive and that means it will only help build my authority. When people trust you, because of your interviews, they will be more willing to share your pages with their friends and family members. This means you will just get more chances of gaining natural backlinks from random strangers, overtaking your competition within the search engines How to build organic backlinks (sort of) without spamming

Purchasing Ad Space
If you're going this route, you will need to purchase strategically. If you go on a big ad marketplace or use Facebook and AdWords, you won't be getting a huge benefit from the ad. What you'll want to do is contact forum, website and blog owners to see if they offer any sort of advertising.

If you can get on a "Partners" page, that's even better!Having a dofollow ad spot on your page, that can't be traced back to a purchase, you will only see benefits when it comes to increasing your rankings. Google will see that you're a partner of this authority website and they will boost you accordingly.

In Conclusion
Organic backlinks can be built by random people or by yourself. Even though you're building your own links, they can still be seen as organic if there's no sort of paper trail. You can have interviews popping up all over the internet, guest posting on niche related websites/blogs, purchasing sticky threads and purchasing ad space. As long as you are getting some nice dofollow backlinks, and you are doing everything right, you will benefit from them How to build organic backlinks (sort of) without spamming

I think organic backlinks are well known as quality links. If you are going to get any old spammy backlinks you can get your hands on they are probably not going to be that beneficial to you. I think take the time to get quality backlinks.

One way of effectively using organic back links is in your social media accounts. Having or creating a YouTube channel explaining your site and having your links there is a good thing to do.

That is a really good idea. You might be able to get fans for your site from there as well. You would get authentic links from this site and be able to utilize them well. I think it is something most would want to think about and to use. I like that idea.

Do you mean to say that you will be using video for promoting your website? I have read one discussion with a similar topic that it seems to be successful because internet users are now turning to videos. Even blogging is having a paradigm shift that vlogging is getting in fashion. Vlogging is actually blogging but not the article type. Vlogging is using video hence the name.

yeah, most of us is desperate to get more and more organic backlinks but many times we are on "thin ice" when it comes to quality, while we choosing where to add link. All the time we have to research and make decisions if it will worth or could it be negative effect to place some link on some website. There is some popular websites with solid amount of traffic, good authority, but marked as "spam" in some way and adding link there could be good in one way but also bad in another... So be careful people

I do guest posting. I have also been interviewed and got backlinks from the interview. However, I never thought about generating backlinks from forum sticky threads. This is really interesting. I am a paid forum poster for numerous forums and every day I spend about 2 hours in posting on forums. I also see a lot of sticky threads. I will try to contact the admin and see if I can use this option. Thanks for the great idea.

That is an interesting idea indeed and if you can piggyback on some of your forum work and use it to your advantage you might find some of the help that you need with SEO without having to look too far.

Guest posting is something that I'll definitely be looking into. I guess that the process is sort of like a job application. You have your resume/portfolio on hand (it obviously being your website and content) and you just keep applying to places until you land a job. It might be tedious but I'm sure it'll pay off.

"Some forum owners don't want sticky threads, but those owners probably haven't had some cash thrown at them for one lol."

I think this could be due to a number of things. Maybe some forum owners just don't want their site to be seen as a place that provides advertisement to other sites. Maybe they fear the site will take traffic away from their forums. Who knows.

I think the approach for the guest posting works. The reason being you both agree to share the traffic. And both of you are compensated. So the guest posting works lot better that way. I am sure you have seen scenarios where the backlinks work out properly. And then things may not be always good enough. And that is what one more reason to plan content marketing with the guest posting approach.

I find guest posting as one of the best ways of building organic backlinks because the guest post or guest blog is a legit part of the website and since it is with an agreement with the admin so it cannot be considered spamming in any way. However, the most difficult part is in finding a website that will allow you to post your content, be it a blog or a forum or even a business website. Most of the website owners that I have come across wouldn’t allow that maybe because they already know the purpose with the backlinks.

By helping other bloggers to get featured on your website is also big help, I read about this one before, the article said because of this you have to have a blog with good visibility and at least decent google rankings.

Backlink building for any website owner is bound to be successful so long as the links are on the right sites and pages, and they're in high traffic and high visibility areas on those pages.

What I do so as not to waste anytime is share my posts / content with my links in 20 to groups per day, I'm a member of hundreds of groups and I use a different block of 20 groups each per day for 7 days. This always gives me good traffic. I don't have to solely rely on putting my backlinks on other websites. Actually using Social Media is way better in terms of traffic and conversion.

Having your site listed on as many directories as you can can also be a good way to build backlinks. There were claims that having a blog listed on a directory like Dmoz (which I'm not sure if it exists anymore) would get your better rankings. Another benefit of having your url in directories is they will draw some traffic your way.

Nonetheless I do believe guest posting is the best way to build backlinks whilst establishing yourself as an authority in your niche.

Getting interviewed is a very effective way to get some quick backlinks. There are also other methods such as "writing testimonials", "reporting broken backlinks", and "infographics marketing".
