Where do you place your ads?

My placement patterns are beneath the navigation bar, near the top of the page. Two in the sidebar, and one or two at the bottom of the page. Always 728x90 and 336x280 or 300x250 adsense sizes. When it comes to non adsense ads, I follow the same blueprint.

I put them on the top, side and bottom of the page. I am not sure that those are the best placements, as I haven't gotten an exceptional amount of traffic or conversions but they are useful to me. I think! I haven't actually placed any ads for awhile though as I had them on my older blog.

I don't know a lot of people don't like to see too much ads on a blog when it not a PTC site so I placed at most 3 ads on a page.I believe it has been bringing more clicks and conversion. I placed on the top,below and in between a post and it just work great.

Yes, I think spreading them around a bit will allow people to see more of them and be able to click as they are able. It is simply a matter of getting and attracting attention no matter where they go. I think this is a helpful strategy.

ABOVE THE FOLD!!!!!

I always look for ads that are above the fold. This means you get your ads on the websites homepage, or subpages, in a spot where it's visible without the person having to scroll anywhere. This increases your click-through rate and in turn, increases your profits

I'll look for 728x90 ads first and hope they are above the fold as well as in good spots in order to increase the CTR. You can't just put a 728x90 anywhere no the page, it has to be above the fold in the header or just under the navigation menu. You can also add it just under the first paragraph of a post or at the end of the post if there is a lot of traffic to the website or forum.

I also like purchasing 300x250 ads because they are much taller than the 728x90 but not as wide. I can use bigger images in these banners and get them seen easier by adding multiple frames, with images, into these ad spots. I will usually try to find these ads on websites offering the placements below the first post, as a pop out like a newsletter capture ad, or at the top of the right/left tower navigation menu. These ads tend to get a good amount of clicks because they stand out due to the images on them, which I love

I'll also be looking for some 125x125 ads because they tend to be cheaper and you can use them for testing purposes before you invest more into the bigger banner spots. I can get a nice little, animated banner up on these websites, above the fold hopefully, and monitor the CTR they are getting.

If you're really worried about your ad placement, you can always try to get a heat map of the page, or pages, your banner ad will show up on. This will show you where people are viewing, and scroll around, on the page so you can get an idea if your ad will be seen or it won't be. Most heatmapping services require you to add some scripts to your code, but there are 3rd party services out there that can monitor peoples scrolling habits on websites and give you an idea of how the website gets viewed. I like working with people that offer heatmapping images because they know what will convert and what won't. Since they know what will work best, they offer ad placements in the hottest spots of their websites so you get the biggest bang for your buck

I am adding banner ads on top header, right sidebar and in the content of posts on my sites.
I think they are the best place to have banner ads and they will attract visitors to clicks on.
Anyway, banner ads can be blocked by adblockers if you can not bypass this.

I placed my ads on Facebook, Google AdWords and Craigslist. I created a page on Facebook, customized and boosted the page with the Facebook ads package. I have been using Google AdWords for the past ten years for all of my online adverts. Currently, I created a campaign for my website and ran an Ad on a pay-as-you-earn basis. Craigslist is a US based classified Ad posting website. I also posted some ads there and result has been fantastic.

I put them on top or at the upper side if available. In that manner, viewers would instantly see my ads. It's a basic strategy. You position your ads where most viewers would prey their eyes on. But the most important element of your ad is the Title Teaser and the content.

This is the right way. I think almost every one of us would do the same. Though google tells us not to. But the reality is that using the ads on the top gives us more conversion. And it also helps with various possible options for the affiliate conversion. I'd surely make use of the ads this way.

I place ads after every three posts and sometimes after the featured post. But that was for a very short time until the ads got removed and so I am not sure if my method was effective.

I think placing too many ads can chase away viewers because the ads consume more data and might take up most space on the screen especially while using phones. Two to three ads per page should be enough and effective.

An advertisement after every three posts seems a bit excessive to be honest. Was it on the homepage and were the posts like extracts or could the user see the whole post? If it was just extracts then having an ad every three posts would definitely be quite excessive. That would be a problem because it would just drive people away from your site

It was the exact opposite from what you are imagining. To be honest the advertisement was few and the site was neat. My site is very spacious and having an ad after 3 posts was okay since only nine posts can be shown on first page before you click the next page. Meaning it was having only 3 ads and nothing more.

Above the fold on the page seems to be working. Many people make use of the affiliate links inside the content. The reason being that seems to be the option that works out for many who want to make use of the ads on the right places. You can see that using ads on the places where it may lead to the wrong position on pages, it can add up in due time. I think some of the ads can be placed in the sidebar. And that does work out in many ways for people. I personally think that ad placement in any other way is not worth it.

I have placed 728x90 in the header and footer... I have tried variously sized in the sidebar... but the most effective has been Adsense's in-article ads. They fit seamlessly into the article and people seem to click on those more than any others.

Oh, the footer? I never tried placing any ads there. Can I ask what sort of response you are getting from that particular ad?

I have always read that the most visible places are the best so the footer was not my top choice. For people to see the footer they have to scroll all the way down to the end and not everybody does that.

I've never bothered to put an advertisement in my footer either. I just don't think it would be the most effective place to have an advertisement because of how little time people spend looking at that particular area. Like you said, I like to put them in areas where users are much more likely to look at and the footer just doesn't seem to be that place.

With my current website, I have been very careful because I don't want to add too many advertisements to ensure that the end user still has a good experience of the site and doesn't want to leave. I have placed two advertisements on the homepage, one is between the blog post links that appear and the other is in the sidebar. I have placed advertisements in various places and most of them is on the sidebar.

I put ads on header, footer, side bars of my homepage as well as inside page. I also put ads just below the title of my content, in the middle of my content and on the bottom of my content. These are the right places for my ad units because these spots have the highest conversion rate.

Placing an ads is crucial, specially adsense ads if you looking for good click trough rate. I have my ads in header and sidebar, but best CTR i am getting from ads placed within article it self, so it gets mostly noted by reader, while header ads and sidebar advertisements are very common and overlooked by readers. There is many tutorials about this advert placements but every blog should test it eventually because not all designs, niches or topics are the same, also not all audience is the same either.

I also placed ads at the top of the page and at the footer part as well. Also, it's quite good to place ads in between your articles since viewers are reading the contents of your site so most probably they will see it visibly and the ads must be relevant to what the content is to increase the likelihood of being clicked.

I'd like to thank Google for removing the maximum number of ads allowed to be put in one page. Publishers can now put an unlimited amount of ads on a page wherever they want. What I do is put one at the right side bar, then one at the bottom of the post title. Then I put two or three ads at the body of the article. Of course, the number of ads that are put in the body of the article will depend on the length of the article. If the article is long, I may put about 3 ads in the body. If the article is a bit short, I only put 1 ad in the body of the article.

You also have to try putting on the top of the content for it can be effective as well. I've not tried the side bar ads placement, but it seems it is going to be a good choice as well. The goal of an ad is to ensure that visitors get to see and click on them with ease.

Thanks for the advice! I've put a responsive ad at the top of my articles (just below the post title) using the ad injection plugin. I don't think it's very viewable on laptops since it stretches out into a banner ad. But on mobile devices, it looks pretty good. It turns into a 300x250 ad which fills up about half of the screen of a regular smartphone. This definitely increases the chances of the ads getting clicked on by visitors to my site.

I would have to say that placing ads on the top of a content has worked really well for me and my friend that is into ads placement for clients has also confirmed that it is the best way to place ads on websites that you know can bring a better experience for you and the services /products that you're marketing. So, on the top is the preferred choice for me.

I place ads on the top of my website and at the side bar. I monetize my website with affiliate banners, Google AdSense and contextual ads. I equally have Amazon ads enabled on my website. All these are managed within my website and are performing wonderfully. I placed up to three AdSense units on my website with three affiliate links together.

I place at most 3 ads on a page. A leaderboard by the header, one on the sidebar then another immediately below my post title or in between the post if the article is a very lengthy one.

The important thing to note is that, ads placed on a webpage shouldn't be too much and overbearing to the point that it irritates a user. I dislike pop up ads too.

You aren't the only one. Pop Up ads used to be almost everywhere a decade ago and long before that. As the web has changed though, so has advertising. Now - you still see pop up and pop under ads. But not nearly as much as years past.
