I agree with you social media is one of the most effectives ways of selling things now, from make up to food, it is really diverse and people are really taking seriously to mantain actives their accounts and with regular posts now, that as you said, could be use in the future for profit. In fact I got a friend who use to be really active in her account and eventually she turned that account into a business by selling sandwiches! -like gourmet sandwiches- it's a bit unusual but she managed to make it work and now she makes a living on that! It is an excellent idea that can give you money, especially if your are in the trend of posting everything you do, eat, wear etc!

Those social media sites are definitely important nowadays. I have been able to grow my business by advertising on several social media sites. Some of my friends helped me to grow my Facebook page. They suggested their friends to join to page. I also made some friends from other countries and I am thankful to them too. They have equally helped me.

Facebook ends up being the most user friendly and effective option because it's a tool that has a very high reach of people (more than we can imagine, to be honesy). But it all depends on how you are going to use it because when used the wrong way, it will bring you more problems than solutions.

P.S: It's always good to be able to count on friends, isn't it? Build a reputation in social media for future benefits

I totally agree with you.

Currently, it's impossible to ignore the social media sites. I mean, even if you don't like them (as incredible as it may seem, millions of people don't even want to get close to them), you have to learn how to use them to their advantage in some way (or you are already out of competition).

So, yes... Build a reputation in social media for future benefits is something extremely important. However, not everyone knows how to do it the right way.

Businesses are definitely starting to focus a lot more on social media and that is really important. The increased use of social media, especially amongst the younger generation, gives a lot of different opportunities to businesses if they manage to use social media correctly. Building your reputation using social media can definitely be helpful because it can increase revenue and it can bring you, new customers, as well.

Yeah, but the problem is in the build up, building up reputation is no child's play, it is easy said than done. And when I mean reputation I mean real reputation with a particular class of people and not some funny meme page. But when you successfully pulled it up, it will give way to many opportunities.

It's useful to know, though, that on Facebook, only a small percentage of viewers, possibly less than 3 percent, will see your posts. In that case, you will have to boost certain posts and that will cost you. However, the price isn't that much. Anyway, how many free posts of Twitter go thru? What about Instagram?

That is extremely true. And that is the one downside of Facebook I guess because it can only be used for communicating with your current users who have already liked your Facebook page. And their advertisements to try and target some users who haven't liked your page already is quite expensive. Twitter is probably the best place to do if you can manage to get some of your followers to retweet your posts.

Utilizing social media properly is absolutely a "must" in today's society. I believe there are something like two billion people currently on Facebook, and I think that is literally just about everyone in the world with internet access. That is absolutely mindboggling. That being said, it would be foolish not to utilize that fact and make a presence for yourself through social media in order to benefit your business. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are three social media platforms that are absolutely necessary in order to market yourself and your business. Even the biggest names in the industry are doing it.

I think reputation based profile definitely helps. It helps you to collect the leads later on. And it can be good option before you start selling something. That's the thing people are doing these days. So it's something people should approach as well. I have found out that social media takes time to get hold of. And every single follower is not going to be an easy task for many of us. So you should learn from it and develop following based on that.

I totally agree with you.

However, I think the problem turns out to be the lack of tact for some people when they have to work with it. They tend to underestimate the power that a good reputation has before they start navigating through more turbulent waters (aka heavier / more consistent competition).

Chances are that 8 out of every 10 businesses have social media accounts or affiliation because Social media in recent times has undoubtedly become the the most important tool for growing a business and advertising the said business products.
I completely agree with your post and points defined. To have a successful business or grow a user base in line with any business, social media is the key to achieving the set targets.

This is true if you are going to be using your social media for promoting your business. In the beginning, I had no idea how to use social media, but while learning how my account grew older. After almost 5 years I still have less than 1000 followers. I would say about half of them are real followers. But those real followers who have real followers and are willing to share my links. Some account holders may have 5000 followers. But even if only 500 are genuine, it's still good for promoting your content. I also find Facebook groups to be great for promotion.

Every month something changes. The thing is that making connection with real people online is harder. And then getting the following is even more harder. You can't be annonymous. I learned that lesson this year. I think genuine followers and being real are two things. If we don't stay anonymous then we can expect real followers.

If you're going to stay anonymous then you don't want a public following. If you want to be private, that's fine. But I don't follow any person that is anonymous. What I do is for home business purposes. I have no need to be secretive about what I'm doing.

Yeah. I think staying anonymous has it's set of benefits and issues. And some people prefer to follow real people. So that's a good point. I think some people just work on multiple brands. And so they prefer to stay anonymoous. And I think it'd be reasonable to understand how the reputation building takes time. I have learned that some people stick with one brand so they choose to stay personal online.

I joined facebook for personal networking with friends from my real life and families. later, I connected with my writer friends, clients and customers. I joined twitter because everyone told me that I should join this social media as well. That was back in 2010. Now I have a facebook account with half a dozen pages and there are hundreds of thousands of followers on these pages. I have associated these pages with my websites and products. It is now easier to promote my works. I am also present in other social media sites as well. The future of marketing lies in the hands of social media.

Yeah, you are right, the importance of setting up a social media account can not be over emphasized, although it's really another thug of war to build up a reputation, but when you have passed the struggle and successfully set up a reputation, you will benefit and reap it's fruit in a long time, if you utilize it well.

I agree. I used to ignore social media sites but I learned that I should try and be more open because it is helpful. If I try to launch a business, I won't have to start from scratch because I'd at least have a personal account in most media sites that I can use to funnel some traffic into the new accounts I would make that are dedicated to just the business alone. The only problem I have with this is that I'm not always keen on mixing my personal account with my business accounts but these days I think that's not so advisable anymore.

I do not attach much value to my recognition on the social media. One needs to constantly be on the scene for followers to remember your presence. In other words if you slacken your work on the Net you will be easily forgotten.

It is how you advertise your business and how good your business is matters more than how many followers you have.

This is very true. What people do on social media says a lot about them. It is also easy to interact with other professional people from your field of interest. If they see you have decent post, they might even call you for an interview.

I've been building my pages and groups for years and i now have a total of 14K members from 4 of my groups. Unlike other groups which grows their members by letting other members add their friends, my groups relies only on member requests, ensuring a very high activity ratio. A group of 2.4K members with 1000+ active members is way better than a group with 20K members with only 200 active members.
