Top 5 benefits of making a group on Facebook for your website or niche

When someone sets up a Facebook page for their website they expect it to be a dedicated sales funnel of high quality traffic that leads to dozens of conversions every day.  Unfortunately, this is far from the case because it takes time to build up your presence on social media.  Most of the time a page on Facebook falls into the abyss of other similar pages and gets almost no traffic at all, which is unfortunate.  To make your page really work out for you and your business, you'll need to run some paid ads, which will get your message right in front of specific people who have a higher chance of converting into a sale.

It's almost impossible to create a successful business page without running some sort of advertising.  The only way to get instant success with your page is if you already have a huge email list of subscribers or you're already successful with your website and you can funnel traffic.

Recently I created a closed group for people interested in eCommerce and in the beginning it was only to test out a few things, but it turned out to be pretty successful.  Facebook groups provide several benefits other than giving you another outlet to advertise.  In this discussion I'll go over the top 5 benefits of making a Facebook group for your website or niche.

1. It's more personal than a business page
Have you ever landed on a business's Facebook page?  It always lacks something, and that something is engagement!  People see business pages as an advertising outlet for companies to promote whatever they want, not interact with their target market.  People won't usually post on a business page because it will only have one person interacting with you, the business owner or social media manager for that company.

For that little reason, this is why Facebook groups fills a void.  Your potential customer can come in, comment, get responses and you can even have something on the page that helps them out... a.k.a. your consulting website or whatever Top 5 benefits of making a group on Facebook for your website or niche

Most people won't come in and comment on a business's post, but if you open the flood gates and let people make their own posts on the group page, you'll see a much larger engagement than a business profiles page Top 5 benefits of making a group on Facebook for your website or niche  People want human engagement, not someone who might pitch them a method or system for a price.

2. Drives peoples attention to your call to actions
In groups you can pin a post to the top of the results for any page you're an admin of.  This is a great thing to use when you have a large enough group of people who routinely come back to your page and talk.

Don't get too spammy with this, you don't want to push people away by making your group look like one big advertisement.  You can post something like "If you'd like us to feature your group on this page, PM us your domain name and we will look into it.  If you're a good fit for our group, we will be in contact and figure out what you'd like to post."  This way you're not just pinning your own stuff and you're actually giving a chance to other website owners within the group.  Even if you only plan on pinning your own website to the top, you still need to make it look like you're giving everyone a chance lol Top 5 benefits of making a group on Facebook for your website or niche

3. Polls get immediate feedback, which is awesome
Facebook groups are a great place to get some immediate feedback on whatever you want.  If you're building the group from the ground up, all the feedback will be extremely valuable and you can use it to make the group even better.  If you're creating a poll, you can ask anything you want.  You can ask what people would like to see in terms of content or what you should change about the group itself.

4. Groups are good for announcing offers
My eCommerce group I mentioned earlier was great for announcing offers.  The group consisted of a bunch of entrepreneurs and long time business owners who all have one thing in common, they had websites and wanted to make money through them Top 5 benefits of making a group on Facebook for your website or niche

I paired this up with the method I briefly mentioned above where you can ask others to message you for a chance to get pinned to the top of the page, and it took off pretty well.  You'll need at least a small following for this to work though.  The more followers you have, the more engagement you'll have on the offers you're announcing.

Usually I'll offer something for free as long as they signed up for my newsletter.  And we all know the beauty of getting people to sign up for newsletters Top 5 benefits of making a group on Facebook for your website or niche  Sales Funnels!!!!

5. You can build up your trust by providing free valuable content
Everything I talked about above required one little thing... trust.  Without some trust, you won't have the engagement on posts, shares or polls and you won't drive any traffic to the pinned posts at the top of your group.

Providing value to your group members will build trust among them.  If you're commenting on posts, liking posts, and doing whatever you can to build trust without spamming your links... People will come back and post, comment and like the same way you're doing to build trust.  It's like a snowball affect, the more people you help out, the more they will help out when you're not online Top 5 benefits of making a group on Facebook for your website or niche  It's like a free social media manager who helps others out lol.

In Conclusion:
Building a Facebook group is a great way to build up trust within the community.  You will need to spend some money in order to build up your group.  If you don't open up your wallet a little bit, you can just kiss your success goodbye because you really do have to spend money to make money.  Remember, in the end if you don't have any trust, you won't last long Top 5 benefits of making a group on Facebook for your website or niche

Facebook is making it almost impossible for business pages to organically show up in feeds. If you want to be seen, they are going to make you pay. The solution is creating a Facebook group, which they have not place the same restrictions.

I didn't even think about it like this so thank you for mentioning this. I might create a Facebook group now because it would just make better sense since there are almost no restrictions on it compared to a Facebook business page.

Do you mean to say that Facebook is controlling the display of the Facebook Pages that you have to pay in order to have it displayed on the timeline? Maybe Facebook is cashing in from that scheme that there is a fee for having your Facebook Page displayed. All the while I thought Facebook Page and Facebook Groups are just the same in their nature that it is free and easy. But now you are saying that Facebook Group is better.

I think that is a great idea and one that has been done and worked successfully for many people. I would like to make a personal page for my blog. I think it is a great idea and one I would enjoy. It is simply one of the ways to get the traffic you need.

This is actually really clever and I wish I knew it months ago when I first opened up my Facebook business page because right away, I'd probably just focus more on establishing the group. I currently have two Facebook business pages and one group (for the blog and affiliate) and I have to admit that it's far easier to reach people with the group. You think that they'd be pretty equal right? But they're not. For the business page to get the exposure you simply have to invest in advertising and it's annoying. That's why I agree with you, Razzy, that making a group is the best!

I agree--this is really cool. I used my personal facebook site for years and just networked form there; then, I hit 5000 followers, and maxed out, so i started opening up "fan pages" for my work and sites. This tip about maximizing the group potential for promotion at my fan or business pages at facebook is great, and, like you, Tronia, I think I am going to look into this. You talk about the importance of "establishing the group", and I think that that is crucial in order to continue the success of our brands and services! Once again, another useful, helpful, and practical post here at Seocheckout that I can apply towards my own personal success and enterprise.

In fact, I have a Facebook page for my business. This is where I usually market my products and also interact with my customers. Facebook has definitely helped me in growing my customer base. My success on Facebook is mainly due to advertising and my friends also helped me to grow my page.

I think the great advantage of these pages on Facebook is really the interaction that it promotes between / among members. This is one of the most important aspects and it works as something that really can make all the difference.

I think that you really mentioned why so many people like social media in the first place--that immediate feedback! I know I am guilty of this. I love posting my blog, then advertising it on social media, then going in a few minutes and looking at the stats to see the fast reaction there from readers. Other than direct conversation, I can't think of anywhere else where I do get such immediate feedback for something I am working on that quickly. Facebook has helped me, too, in growing a readership, and it is because of facebook, I am pretty sure, that I have been able to sell some ebooks and print books to those interested in the things I've been putting together.

All the tips in the post are great as long as you keep in mind two super important things: time and patience, because you'll definitely need them to manage things in your own way (even if you have other people helping you)... And who knows: a little bit of luck too, hahahaha. Top 5 benefits of making a group on Facebook for your website or niche

I have found out that making the groups on facebook adds up on the social promotion side. And it can be something you may want to take a look at. People are spending a lot of time building such groups. And they can be your future customers. So you may seriously want to invest into them. I guess for those who can manage this type of traffic can get leads for the course and the projects. So in that context you can check out what may or may not work for all as well.

I believe that having a Facebook Group is very beneficial. I made the mistake of creating a Google Plus community instead. Got tired of deleting spam and deleted the community. Reviewing and deleting spam comments was unnecessary work and it discouraged me. It has been suggested that I create a Group for my business pages but I am already active in so many other groups where I can share links to my page and indirectly gain followers for my page.

Do you have an opinion about Pinterest Group Boards?

As I had been posting from time to time, Facebook is the most potent avenue for promoting your interest because of the big audience and the dynamism of the users there. I have seen some groups with thousands of member, in fact I am a member of 2 big groups. When I post something in that group, a hundred would like it and it would easily get 50 comments within the day. However, the post should be related to the niche otherwise I would be tagged a spammer. Anyway, creating a group for your purpose is one good way of getting hold of people’s attention.

This really is a must these days. Here, it is more common to put up a Facebook group for your business than to put up an official website. Personally, I would prefer it if businesses were to put up both, but I guess since everyone here spends most of their time there than on Google, I guess it is just more practical. It's also good to have an Instagram presence nowadays it seems either as an alternative or as an addition to having an FB page.

I generally love all the advice you give. Reading your content is like taking a class. I especially agree with your sentiments here. Facebook groups are very useful as a marketing tool. I've never thought of starting my own group. I've always advertised in other groups.

I also agree with you that sometimes you have to spend money to make money. Most people want to start their business for free, that's almost unheard of. The authority on working online in my country has used your tactics of being helpful. He has started several facebook groups and is always on hand to help. His sales are very high because of this.

Facebook traffic is misleading. For instance, without paid boosting, your ad is only reaching a tiny amount of the followers. However, though, on the bright side, I think boosting is less than pay-per-click traffic. Anyway, I am not discouraging anyone from getting a Facebook group or page, and I think that's a good step, but people need to be warned.
