4 marketing tips you can use before you decide to outsource the work to an agency

Most start up business owners will be doing the majority of the work from sales to marketing and day to day operations.  This is pretty typical because in the beginning, a business owner won't have much money to hire someone to do all the work for them, which is normal.  Of course later on when you're more established you can bring people on to do all the various tasks that a business need done, but not in the beginning.

Most people who are not tech savvy will be reluctant to hire a full time online marketer to handle the work of generating online leads for the business.  This is mainly due to the fact that if they don't know what the person is doing, they don't feel comfortable with it, which is normal.  But you will have to break out of that uncomfortable feeling and bring someone on eventually if your business gets too successful.  You won't be able to do it all yourself and you'll need a team of people to help you out with tasks.

You probably know that if done right, online marketing can bring in a good amount of leads daily.  It can be tough to just hire someone to do it because you're unsure of how to actually do it yourself, but I'm here to help you with a few things before you decide to bring in an authority on the subject and have them do the work 4 marketing tips you can use before you decide to outsource the work to an agency

I've done countless SEO and marketing campaigns for thousands of clients since 2003 so I have a pretty good idea of what you can do prior to contacting someone like me lol.  If you can master these 4 strategies below, you'll be helping the digital marketer a whole lot and it will just make your leads come in quicker.  And also, if you do some stuff by yourself you will really notice the importance of bringing in some credible outside help 4 marketing tips you can use before you decide to outsource the work to an agency

Here are the 4 strategies you should master prior to outsourcing your marketing work.

1. You need to understand your own data first
Digital marketing and their system will produce a whole ton of data and it can definitely be overwhelming to people who aren't use to these types of reports.  what you should do is sign up for Google Analytics and add their snippet of code to all of your pages.  Usually you can just add it to your footer and it will ad to most of your pages, it's just easier that way lol.  After that you will be able to see where your traffic is coming from, your demographics, peak traffic times, etc.  You will also want to work with goal conversion tracking so you can see exactly how many leads are coming from particular sources.  This will show you if an ad spot is working well or if it needs to be cut out of your monthly spending.

2. Focus on the traffic, leads or sales goals.
When you understand what is going on with Google Analytics you'll be able to set up some realistic goals in order to improve your website and sales.  You'll notice that focusing on SEO, on page optimization and A/B testing are going to take up a lot of your time, but it's worth it since that's what will generate the sales for you, not just your marketing efforts.

3. Test some quick campaigns
If you have the funding, which hopefully you do because the saying "you have to spend money to make money" is true, you can set up a small Adwords or Facebook ads campaign in order to bring in some additional traffic.  You will have to optimize your ads and keyword targeting to bring in the right traffic since not all of the broad keywords you'll target will bring in people wanting to open up their wallets.

What I like to do is set up 10 different ads within the same campaign and see what works best.  Usually I'll keep the top 2 performing ads based on CTR and conversions (you'll need to use a pixel for this) and then I'll ditch the rest which are just wasting my money, sort of.

4. Get some help
If you have too much pride to ask for help, you're not going to make it long when it comes to digital marketing for your own business.  Hell, I've been doing digital marketing since 2003 and I still ask people for information when I'm not coming to the conclusion I want.  Recently I was banging my head on the desk because I couldn't figure out why my super targeted visitors weren't converting into any sales even though I had 300 unique clicks each day.  A friend looked over my website and asked "Are you targeting the entire world but only offering PayPal?"  And that's when the light bulb turned on and I realized that I was getting only clicks from countries that couldn't purchase from me lol.  If I hadn't asked for help, I'd likely have spent a lot more money on something that wasn't working.

It's not worth your time to try and become an expert in every field when you can simply pay someone a few bucks to help you out.  You don't need to have a programmer, web designer, etc. on a retainer because that's pointless.  You can simply post somewhere like these discussions and ask a question then wait for an answer 4 marketing tips you can use before you decide to outsource the work to an agency

In Conclusion:
If you can master the 4 things I went over above this, you will make it much easier for an internet marketer to bring in some amazing leads in a shorter time span.  This is because you've already set up the right pages, done the on page optimization and split test what you needed.  The marketer can use all that data and skyrocket your traffic, conversions, sign ups, sales, etc. 4 marketing tips you can use before you decide to outsource the work to an agency

Asking for help is important and even if you ask someone that haves a lower professional knowledge compared to you it can still help. Why? Because just as Razzy said they can help you point out obvious fixes you are missing because you may be to overwhelmed and you aren't thinking clearly.

Doing things yourself, the online marketing part can help a lot with your budget, but overall you need to work like crazy to make everything happen. Manage a business plus doing all the online marketing stuff that is necessary can be very demanding.
You definitely need to know how to do things yourself as well as setting goals, but overall I think you should focus on the business part and leave the online marketing and the boring job to agencies or freelances.

Helping me to get better is part of the reason that I outsource jobs. I think it is nice as long as we have the necessary tools in place.

The adage 2 heads are better than 1 always works because I have experienced that many times an in every venue of life. In the office, it is common for the subordinate to point out the mistake or to give a suggestion that will better solve the problem. Even at home, there are times that our housemaid would tell me something that will clear up the matter or make me do a different way of the house chore which proves better.

Yes,it not good to jump into conclusion when you have not tried your hands on some tips to see what one can be fix before outsourcing.

Trying other campaigning strategies is very important. it pertinent that all avenues have been exhausted.

No man is. an island and no one person knows it all,so it pertinent that some times, we seek help.Don't think but ask for help let the helper decline to help before outsourcing or moving further.

Asking for help is sometimes the best thing that you could possibly do. The problem is that a lot of people are too embarrassed to ask someone for help. And the problem with that is that you will end up doing something wrong or not doing something properly and thus affecting your website or business. Everyone needs help from time to time so never be embarrassed to ask for help.

Working with smart and experienced freelancers is not really bad as long as they deliver the desired results for you in the course of outsourcing jobs to them

Nice article from one of the best that I've learnt so much from since joining seocheckout. I will have to say that it is good to try other methods of doing the work and finally settling for outsourcing the work, if other methods fail.

I think marketing your brand or services yourself in addition to the occasional outsourcing works best. After you've marketed your online presence rigorously - you can outsource this task for a bit while you recharge and come up with new ideas. After your outsourced run is over - you'll be refreshed and ready to jump back into the game.

For a website to earn, traffic is the main concern that’s why SEO is getting to be a big thing now because that is one way of getting traffic. And if you need to seek help for your traffic needs, I have to agree that you need to understand your data first. But it’s not just the data but the website in its entirety. You need to think of the where the marketing will be focused, it is on the design, the content or the other elements?
