5 digital marketing trends that every business should be trying

In today's digital society we have a lot of rising stars and some that burn our pretty quick.  These stars use trends that aren't actually trends at the time, and that is how they get noticed so much.  Look at Pokemon Go, it took the world by storm and had an insane amount of downloads within it's first couple months.  If it weren't for some safety related missteps and repetitiveness, it could have been an amazing app for years to come.  In the end, even though it's still around, the app flew too close to the sun and burned up.  The app was set up to augment reality when someone was looking through their phone, which a lot of marketers took notice too and tried to capitalize on.  It was a cutting edge trend that dwindled off shortly after Pokemon go started to die out.

But on the flip-side we have SnapChat with their expiring content.  They are so successful that they turned down a $10 billion dollar buyout from Facebook so that they could push the app in the direction they wanted.  Think of it, they have an app that deletes it's content after a certain amount of time and Facebook wanted to throw billions of dollars at it lol 5 digital marketing trends that every business should be trying

New technology is ever evolving and we need to watch for what is coming next.  Watching the technology will show us what the next big trends could be, and if we're one step ahead of the curve, we can cash in on them 5 digital marketing trends that every business should be trying

Below I'll go over 5 of the biggest digital marketing trends that we know of

1. All the visual content
Visuals are what we saw, literally, rise up in 2016 and it's going to be here for a long time.  Using visuals gives the user a clear and concise representation of the information you're trying to show them.  Did you know that visual info can be processed 60,000 times faster than plain text?  Did you also know that roughly 90% of the information our brain processes is visual?  This means that visuals speed up the learning aspect and if you're not using them on your own website, you're just falling behind.

2. Content that is interactive
Content will always be king in the search engines minds, but what about interactive content?  There is a trend on the horizon, sort of, and it's interactive content.  Basically this is where a website has a poll, content, quiz, calculators, etc. on their pages in which people can interact with.  There are many pop up news websites that have something like this, I'm sure you've been pulled off of Facebook for some random quiz lol.

Well that's interactive content!  If the user can interact with something on your website, it's interactive and they usually like it.

3. Using Live videos
I'm sure you've had the notifications that "John Doe is now Live!" and you've watched some of those videos.  I honestly dismiss them so they don't show up anymore, but I'm not everyone since these types of videos are actually working well for businesses lol 5 digital marketing trends that every business should be trying

Live videos for businesses are bringing people into the back end offices to see how the company works or showing users events that the business is sponsoring or just attending.  They basically break down that wall between personal and professional and you're bringing the client to work with you, which seems to work extremely well.

4. Expiring content
Expiring content, like what snapchat uses, causes a sense of urgency and undivided attention when viewing.  For this reason, marketers are picking up on their own expiring content techniques and they are using it for their own benefits of course.

Businesses like ours, the small to medium ones, aren't using snapchat advertising but rather building up their audience and sending out their own snaps.  It's much cheaper since it's free and you don't have to spend a minimum of $75,000 on it like you would for their advertising lol.

Expiring content will bring in your viewers and you can show them almost anything.  It can be a one time coupon code to anyone following you on snapchat or you can just talk about your deals for the next 24 hours.  The possibilities are limitless on what you can do with this type of content.

5. Beacons
This type of marketing is actually starting to take off right now.  Not many people are using it because it's new and relatively unheard of right now.  Have you heard of this before?  No?  My point has been proven lol.

Basically this is a little device that you can pre-program to send out any type of notification within a specific range.  The stronger the beacon, the large the range of sending.  What people are sending is advertisements to cell phones and you don't even need to opt in.... yet 5 digital marketing trends that every business should be trying

One of my friends bought 100 of these little beacons for $10 a piece and each one reaches up to 100ft.  So basically anyone who walks within 100ft of this beacon will get a notification to their phone letting them know of a specific sale or a new store in the area.  What he did was contact a few stores in the mall and set up these beacons, with the malls permission of course, and had people all over the mall getting notifications for the stores he partnered with.  My friend told me that the store owner said they were getting a much larger flood of traffic because of the beacons and is extremely happy 5 digital marketing trends that every business should be trying

Now you can use this for personal gain on your own stores or online shops, or you can partner with other stores and do what my friend did 5 digital marketing trends that every business should be trying

In Conclusion:
There are always marketing trends on the horizon, you just have to look out for them.  Figure out what could be trending in the next few months and see how you can take advantage of it.  Research upcoming technology and if you can use it for marketing, I'm sure you can figure out a way to profit fromit 5 digital marketing trends that every business should be trying

I'm not going to lie, I had no idea what the beacons were before you posted about it. It's actually an interesting idea and a great business idea. But how does it actually work? Surely it is illegal to push content onto someone's phone if they have given you permission unless of course, it is the government/police sending out emergency alerts to phones? Does this beacon thing use similar technology that the government/police would use?

I am both amused and surprised with that beacon that I have to admit that I don’t fully comprehend. It looks like a device like the radio signal that can connect to any receiver perhaps a phone or a computer? Pardon me but I am confused and I don’t see the benefit that we can get from that beacon. Let’s say that can intrude in the phones that are nearby but how do we use it in a decent way?

Beacons, huh? I have never heard of these, it is true. I am also curious as to the legality of these so-called beacons, and is it legal to place these devices wherever you please? Do you just carry them around on your person, and then go and sit in the mall or some other heavily traveled area so that it signals to whatever cell phones are around you? I am really curious about these. That being said, i think that the idea of using live content and expiring content is great. Both of these ideas create an urgency in terms of the content, and that could drum up surges of business.

Great,I think there are so much one can achieve with visual contents.you would be doing a World of good to customers and your business if you use visuals or videos.

A lot of people I know love to watch videos of anything than the plain text.

so one can take advantage of this by trying to use these two trends in marketing any product.

Cool tips and very educative, the content interaction is an important thing, many marketers lack and they need to upgrade their contents to be very interactive to the reader, because it's when the reader is immersed in the content due to the level of interaction inter playing between him/her and the content. They might opt in for the bid or product.
And for the beacons, it's actually a mini system, it can be done with a raspberry pi, it's actually a hack concept and will soon be banned in some countries, for me it's very wrong and intruding, it needs to be banned, because this is creeping into people's device without their concept, I have experienced it and i think it was because my WIFI was on, it was very annoying to me, hackers can use it to create a backdoor and steal people's data. It's a no no for me.

I have tried Periscope before and it seems to be working out for me for local business. I think many people get to know you this way. I also wanted to try the Facebook Live. But it seems like the feature is not much popular. But considering how the digital marketing is not that great here on the video side. I have to rely on the Facebook ads and the google adwords. I also think Facebook groups can be a good to post visual content. You can gain some good client based this way. I guess for each to their own how they choose the strategy.

Even though I have never used visual contents, interactive contents or live video, however, I have often thought about these marketing trends that are all rage. Beacons, what are they actually, I have never used, never heard. I want to check this out. I understand the importance of visual contents, interactive contents, and live video. Since people are tempted to see visuals rather than read the entire content, your marketing campaign will be more effective if you promote your product and services through images and videos. Interactive contents such as quiz, attract lot ot people because they like participating in quiz.

I like videos, but I'd probably be hiring someone else to be in them. In other words, I'm not comfortable with myself in videos, aside from some drumming ones I'd like to make. However, I do enjoy taking the lead in keyboard communication.

I am amused with the live videos. I am seeing those in Facebook but I don’t mind them. However, when it comes to business, I guess that live video is something that can attract attention of the reader. Especially when the live video is about the promotion of a product or service, it would really be viewed. One friend in the airline industry told me that their company is thinking of doing that kind of advertisement in the internet – live video about their latest discount offers.
