Which type of adwords ad is good for classified site

Hello Friends,

We are planning for adwords for our classified site. Will you suggest which type of ad will be benefit for us Display ads or Text Ads and why?

From my experience clients would rarely have a decent set of images or a separate designer to go the Display option. So I would suggest you start with Text Ads. Display ads can be added any time later on

I agree. The image ads are usually not clicked these days. And people avoid ads clicking. In case of the text ads. They think it's reasonable to click on the link. So it can be one way to think of as a click for making the people to tap on it. On mobile and desktop image ads don't work much. But text ads work lot better.

For classified website text ads will work with Ad words. From my own behavior I will always check the new classified website must and will register must if that is free for registration and will enlist product must or any services.

I don't have a classified site of my own therefore I don't have any experience of adword campaigns. In fact I have never used adword services. I use facebook ads instead. However, base on my experience of using google search, I think display ads have more advantages over text ads. Display ads easily catches users attention.

Text based ads are better for classified ads. The reason being image based ads don't perform good these days. And people are ignoring those type of ads. So if you want to make sure that you are clicking on the right ad. Think about it you are more likely to click on the adwords text ads. That's one reason you should go for that.

Text ads is also what I prefer based on my standard. When I see an ad that is image based, I tend to take a quick glance and leave. But for a text then I have to read if the content is interesting to me. But I guess it would depend on the kind of presentation for the ads in the classified site. My take is easy to read and easy to understand so that readers will immediately have an idea of what the ad is all about.

Yes text ads blend in with the content. And also are likely to get more clicks. Image ads and video ads can be ignored. But text ads usually does help. And many publishers are also making sue of the ads in that case. So yes, it's always better to have the text ads like these.

I would suggest a mix of both. Text ads are good and all but sometimes people won't notice those ads, thus limiting it's chance to be clicked. Having a full image display ad is also not recommended because people now tend to get discouraged when they see huge ads blinking or taking their attention instead of what they really looking for. A mix of both would be advisable because it's not too flashy, nor too little. And the placing of ads is also has an important role mind you.

I guess most people do respond to images more than text-based ads, but like some of the responders here have said above, a good balance of both would appeal to me, personally, as a potential customer. This is all a question of good web design and good balance. I tend to be a bit of a minimalist at my sites, and I often wonder if that is hurting me--that I do not have ENOUGH ad presence there.

Just like some of above suggestions I also think that text ads are good and much better than images ones, Readers don't like to have images poping up when they are navigating in otherwords Images Ads are annoying sometes yet Some users don't even notice that it's advertisements when it is a text ad they just click on it for more informations and you just get clicks you want. Which is why I would go for text ads.

If you need more exposure, go for Display ads.

As per Google Keyword Planner, the average monthly searches for
"classified sites" is about 1K-10K, so if you're looking for more,
Display ads should be your way.

But I will suggest you to test both on small budget to see the performance, and then scale the one that performed well.

Checking categories on your classified site and see what you are using, from there you can set Google ad accordingly.
