How do I sell a Facebook Page?

I have 4 Facebook pages for each of my sites. They only have a few followers but each post gets a lot of likes. Last night, I received a message from one person asking me if I owned one of the pages that I have. That page currently has over 1,000 followers and likes.

That person who contacted me now wants to purchase that certain page. However, I don't know how to go about that transaction. Should I just require the person to pay via PayPal? What if that person doesn't have any PayPal? What would be a nice alternative?

Also, how would I transfer the page to that certain person? Is it even possible to transfer a page to another individual?

And lastly, what amount should I charge that person for my page? Again, it currently has more than a thousand followers only.

Transfering ownership of Facebook page is done so if you make that person administrator of the page with full access to all page features, then he / she can keep you as admin too, or remove you. However, selling Facebook pages is not allowed by FB so you have to be careful what you doing, it always Facebook's property, no matter who created it...

If Facebook does not allow the selling of Facebook Page, is there a way for Facebook to know that your Facebook Page had changed ownership? Anyway, I am looking in that direction to create a Facebook Page and work on it to be popular for eventual selling. For a creative person, that may not be me, he can perhaps have 5 Facebook Pages with different themes and he can sell it one by one.

You can do this by adding the person as an admin. Then he can log in to change the password and the name to suit what you want. For the price you can negotiate to your favour.

Firstly, be careful because with PayPal you can easily just claim a chargeback and you would be left without both because PayPal may decide to refund their money and they would have changed all the Facebook details which would mean that you won't be able to access your Facebook page again. You could always just charge people to have their advertisements posted on your page, that would also mean that you can continue to earn a revenue from the page instead of a one-time charge.

I have never heard of this before, and I would have assumed that you are not allowed to sell a facebook page--this is interesting. The amount is also a difficult question; I guess you would have to negotiate that, but I would not even know what to ask for one of my pages. Interesting situation and question here.

One of my friend wants to sell a Facebook account too and we have been telling him not to do it as it may be illegal. I am happy that I came across this discussion. I will read others reviews to have a better idea.

I think it might be good to consult Facebook on how this best be done. You don't want to run afoul of Facebook, and get your account banned or something. That wouldn't be good for anyone. It may not be illegal, but it may be forbidden for Facebook.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I haven't pushed through with the sale just yet as the "buyer" hasn't replied in weeks.

I think I'll be keeping my page rather than sell it since it would be a great way to get traffic to my websites. What I'll do is to keep on getting to get more and more followers to my page to increase its value even more. Besides, most of you have hinted that Facebook might not approve of the transaction of ever they found out about it. I'll just have to wait and see. If a situation arises when I really need cash, I might just push through with the sale. But for now, I'm holding on to the page.

You may want to find out the customers through the site like seocheckout, flippa and others. This way you can easily get more leads. You may also consider adding them as analytics manager and show them the stats. So you can see that would help them buy before paying you. So that's something you can consider for the selling the page. Finding the right person would not be that easy though. You have to struggle and make things work on that part. For that reason I think selling the page would take some efforts from your side.

You can transfer Facebook page account to any users that you want but I think this thing is not valid because Facebook pages are a thing not for sale.

I doubt in buying Facebook page because the owner can get it back if they have some secret things to confirm and get their page.

Gee, I didn’t know that you can sell a Facebook Page and that there are buyers. With just 1,000 followers, I guess that is not so hard to achieve especially when you have a very active Facebook account and 5,000 friends. This made me think of creating my own Facebook Page that in the future could fetch me a good selling price. Of course, I understand that a Facebook Page is like a forum that requires regular updates and also needed a moderator for the posts.
