Should I Avail of a Paid Service for more traffic?

So I've been searching around the net, looking for a new web host to manage my sites. As I was looking for hosting sites with cheap monthly fees, I came across 1 and 1 Web hosting which offered a huge discount for the first 12 months. I'm tempted.

I tried to view their checkout page and saw two up sells. One intrigued me - list local basic. It claims to do the following:
-give my website presence in online directors and mobile apps
-give better ranking in search engines
-plus immediate one click listing (whatever that means)

The first month is free. The next 11 months would be $15 and after that, the cost would be $30. The service is billed monthly so I can opt out any time. What do you think? Should I avail of the service?

I am not sure where this service is being offered. I'd never pay for mail marketing based traffic. Because we have no clue which visitor is from which place. Also in such case it's better to go for the PPC Ads instead. You can make use of the Google adwords or the Facebook Ads. And that way you can reach more users. That traffic is more refined in that case which is likely to buy stuff from you.

I would carefully read reviews of any site I was thinking of joining. It is important that you get the best traffic you are looking forward to. It is simply too important to the overall look and feel of your site. Paying for traffic is an uknown, and I don't know how it would work for you honestly.

If the work to be done for paid traffic is SEO method then I guess it is just fine. However you should be warned that SEO work is not precise in effect that you may feel it isn’t working. Some clients of SEO specialists and even SEO companies who provide SEO work have that problem of explaining the delayed effect of SEO work especially with the backlinks and the keywords.

I purchased my own dedicated server which costs me roughly about $99 per month. I do not like purchasing website hosting from hosting companies that oversell their plans. Another thing I do not like doing is having my website linked with many other websites that the shared hosting hosts. I usually buy shared hosting because it fits my needs, and it's relatively cheap and I can get it for about $3.50 a month. But what I am finding out is that my websites do so much better when they are hosted on my own dedicated server. The costs of a server are quite high but the rewards are so worth it.

If you ever are in the market to buy a dedicated server, either managed or unmanaged (which I have) then go for it. You will learn a lot and won't have to worry about what the other websites on the server are doing that could possibly affect your own business. I think the move from a cheap off shore hosting provider to an unmanaged dedicated server was a pretty good move on my part. Please consider looking into it if you have the budget to afford it.

You should never go after paid traffic. First of all paid traffic does not convert. In other words, traffic does not earn you money directly, you will only earn when the visitors click ads or buys products and services you have advertised. However, the paid visitors do not care about the contents in your website. secondly, google does not like paid traffic. Once it finds out about the paid traffic, you might be banned.

Not true. Google adwords and Facebook ads are paid traffic. They are one of the popular ads which are converting. You can't block the facebook ads with the adblocker. So they are always on the top of the game. You can see that the adblocker has the hard time trying to block facebook ads and for this reason they are doing way better. You can use PPC aka paid ads for many ways and it does work. Google adwords itself is a paid advertising network. Where do you think adsense gets ads? It's from google adwords which is paid traffic.

Perhaps, I should have cleared what I was referring to when I mentioned paid traffic. Yes, Google adwords and facebook ads are paid traffic. However, by paid traffic I was referring to the traffic from traffic exchange sites and PTC sites. PTC visits and traffic exchange visits are not very liked by Google.

I see. Most of those traffic sites are fake traffic. Because here the other bots and the low quality users are surfing those sites. So it falls more into the fake traffic options. I think people have to find out themselves that such fake traffic based sites are not worth it. Because here one has to spend a lot of money and returns are not good at all.

Paid traffic is good but I think it could cause you a ban if they find out, unless you're monetizing your blog with affiliate program and other monetizing ways that does not have strict terms and conditions.

But if you want to combined with non paid traffic, I think you should improve on your content.Content is king in driving traffic.

I think not, because you won't even find out if it's effective or not. Better test your basic package first and after some months if you think it's not getting traffic then that's the time to consider an upgrade.

By then, If you decide to sign up to their service you can now compare if it's helping your site or not, you can plainly see results in about 15 days. If it's not helping out then opt out of it.

If you have the money to afford a service contract of 3 months, I guess that will be fair. Check it out for yourself and it is like a little gamble. But if it is successful then you may have hit the jackpot. Or maybe you can opt for a one month of trial just to evaluate if their methods can give you ample traffic. But be careful with the sales pitch because you may be getting advice and suggestions but no concrete results as far as traffic is concerned.

I think by paid traffic only PPC works. No other traffic which is paid has worked out. Social media sites provide the PPC and so does the adsense. only those work out for the contract or say even worth paying for. Not a lot of people can get into this type of the traffic because it doesn't work for them. That's what I have found out.

This same type of complaint is echoed TENS OF THOUSANDS of times throughout the web - also, it sounds like they're upselling you services that don't ACTUALLY exist or that you don't need at all - which they probably got that trick from GoDaddy (Another provider to avoid like the plague!) - if you want good cheap hosting go with kvchosting or 247-host.... Stay away from 1 and 1, GoDaddy or any of the dozens of hosting companies now owned by EIG...

I agree that all that glitters is not gold. Cheap can end up as expensive. The best thing to do online is to read as many reviews as you can on the service. if this was a physical service you would get advise from your family and friends, before you buy something online it is even more important to get reviews. You don't know who is at the other end of the computer screen and you don't know their intentions or if they know what they are doing.

If I was paying for a service that promises better rankings in the SERPs then it wouldn't be the hosting company that would get my money. It doesn't really matter what they promise. In fact if you want backlinks from directories, you'd be better off submitting the site yourself, to the directories because there aren't too many of them any more.

Then spend the money on ppc ads to get more traffic directly from sites where your ad is seen or indirectly from social media platforms which promise "wider reach" for sponsored posts.
