Flag counter for your website

A flag counter indicating from which country a visitor comes to your website will give you an idea of whether there is global interest. I have a flag counter on my blog and each time a visitor arrives I either get to see a new flag or they are added to the existing flags of those countries.

You can download it here

This looks good for the personal websites but for the professional website this may not look good. Also the analytics can be much better through the google analytics. As you can see such flag counters are good for showing off. But I think personally google analytics is more than enough. It just gets kind of harder to use other options.

I have the flag counter at one of my blogs. I like it! I think it's reflects the spirit of the worldwide web. It's nice to know that people come from places I will likely never ever visit, just to read something written at my blog. It's way cool!! Flag counter for your website

The joy of just getting back periodically and discovering either a few new flags or the number against the existing flags having increased is truly so satisfying. It is also kind of a data bank from where we can gather more information - even knowing about the flags that represent different countries.

I was doing some house cleaning with my blog and deleted the flag counter. I was going to reinstall it but first I'm going to try some other "counter" widgets and see what kind of information I can glean from them about visitors to my site.

There are always upgrades. What I have is pretty old too.
I too have a lot of cleaning to do mainly because of the main title of my blog is gardening and there are other topics in there. I will start a new blog and transfer gardening under a sub heading.

Are you able to change the name of your blog without starting a new one? It would save a lot of work and you'd be able to retain the view count and any comments you already have.

I believe that's a good feature for a website. Aside from giving you information what country the visitor live it can avoid intruders or scammers also. Another thing is that you can use that information when you need to collect your visitors addresses and their country.

I like to see those flags there adding colour to my blog (lol) That is a good thought about keeping intruders at bay. I have not gone there in a while but should be doing it if not for anything else just to check on those flags!!!

I used it on my old domain at BlogJob, but there was a period when it wasn't working properly, so when I moved my blog to Blogger I chose to use their default view counter. I'm able to see from which countries I'm getting the most traffic on their stats page, but it's not as nice as being able to see all those flags, so maybe I should try flagcounter again. I just wish I'd done it when I first moved my blog because if I start now nearly 80,000 views won't be included in those stats.

I had a similar feature on my previous blog, and it is very interesting. If I open another blog, i will take your feature into consideration ;)

It's a great little asset. Don't you think however that it distorts the theme of the site? My blog uses a darker theme don't you think it would stand out too much?

Oh, yes. I have seen those flags before on a blog and I thought it was a cool feature. It is always interesting seeing where other people are from... it feels like you know them a bit more even if that's not the case. It can be a good feature on forums too. Thank you for the link!

It looks good for monitoring your visitors geo lacation. It will afford you to know the country where your most traffic come from. It certainly is a good addition to any website.

Great thank you for the share I will try this with my websites and blogs. There are similar websites as well which offer free HTML and PHP codes for your website like visitor counters and other great tools which help a website.

For example, there is http://100widgets.com/ which gives different tools and cool format base tools for your blog and websites there are tons of great things on the internet these days.

Hi, Iamawidon't have a flag counter on my blog and I don't intend to download it because it doesn't matter from where a user comes. If he appreciates my blog and writes a positive or critical review it will matter more than its status!
Thank you for sharing your link with us!

I used to have that feature on my old blog. I think it was a feedjit widget. I have had difficulty with Blogger loading things though so I haven't tried to add any extra widgets. I am not sure if it is just my computer or if it is happening across the board.

Thank you for sharing the information about the country’s flag of the visitor but I think most of the sites that I know have that in their control panel. Pardon me if I am wrong on my assumption because I had been checking the site of my husband’s office and another 2 sites of my friends more than a decade ago and I remember seeing flags in the demographic chart.
