To make a website user friendly, recently the people has been using a cloud server which is super fast for any website. Website domain name should need to be attractive. Than website logo should be design so that any one can order for logo easily. I mean website integration with eCommerce platform. If you create your website with WordPress than- for order processing woo commerce plug in is best. The website will be looking gorgeous if you use HD pictures. By selecting attractive domain and by taking a good hosting server will give you nice website speed. Than by select a good theme from theme forest and implementation of woo commerce with your WordPress will make you happy.

Happy selling!!!

Thanks

When I want to buy items from a website, the button should be clear, precise and available next to the product, easy to understand. You can refer your website to 11Street website, I love to shop there, user friendly and comfortable.

The site navigation is I think what is important for a website to be user friendly. There is nothing more frustrating than going to a site while having something in your mind that you are looking for but cannot find it because the site navigation is bad. A good idea is to have good site maps and cookie crumbs so that the user can navigate to the top page or subsection easily. Also, organizing the websites such that products can be grouped easily and searched easily is also a good way to make a website more navigable.

I think you have to think in terms of the customer friendly and responsive design. You can have lot better conversion if you can keep the responsive design in mind. This way your design is going to be more of user friendly. I have found that most of the retina friendly and responsive design friendly can do lot better with the design. I think in case of the examples, see what your competitors are doing and implement those features. That way you'd learn what to do and what to skip.

Make sure it is clutter free nobody likes a site which is "In your face" for example. Make your points clear and what members can gain out of your services. Like what kind of logo's will you offer, Website/blog logo's to banners or transparent logo's.

The key is in proper planning and testing. Most established companies have a step in their design flow specifically designed to detect and eliminate potential usability issues.

This feedback can be incorporated already in the initial phases of the project or in final revisions. However, if you do not have the budget to maintain a group of employees for usability testing, you can check with your internal team or your own customers. Ask them to review the site and provide feedback on their online experience before launching it. Another option is to use tools that record user navigation, such as Hotjar. Installation is super simple and you have a perfect user browsing experience.

Another very important thing is to make your website or ecommerce responsive so that it can be accessed by mobile devices and other devices of varying screen sizes. This way your site can receive visitors regardless of where the user is.

Experiences that help your customers

Each experience on the site should aim to solve a problem in the most effective and user-centered way. But be careful not to overdo it. Each time you add new functionality to your site, keep in mind the purpose of this addition. What will it add to your site?

What is the value to the customer? You do not want to solve one problem and create another in the process.

Always remember that "simpler is always better" and good sales!

Before you begin always put yourself in your customer's shoes and ask yourself the questions that you want to know. So, answer this yourself: ''What type of sites do I find user-friendly?''

But overall, the things you should focus on are:
- nice design,
- easy to navigate,
- the site has to be responsive,
- add your social media contact and the general one,
- don't forget the search function,

How do we deal with advertisement here? How can I tell how much is too much? I was planning on monetizing my blog with Google Adsense but I really don't have a notion of how far can I go.

A site can be made user friendly by easy navigation which is very important, buttons of quick searches should be visible and good attention to web design should be given. Also issues of loading a next page should be made easier for users on the site, they shouldn't have to keep waiting for pages to load every time they need to access a page on the site.

First of all the website needs to be fast. Scale down images to occupy the least amount of space. Use a easy on the eyes color scheme, preferably less than 5 extremely different colors. Take care of navigation and sections, organize them well since those are going to help the most.

You can see that if you want to make things user friendly then definitely try out the googles website speed checker tool and their other framework for mobile friendly website.

My eyes get strained when the background color of a website is very dark. I don’t feel comfortable with the contrasting color of black with any other color and I usually do not pursue my intention on such a website. In fact, one personal friend had invited me to his new site with a black background that I was turned off and I messaged my friend that I wouldn’t subscribe to his site due to poor design. He seemed annoyed by my comment.

I do not like visiting website that uses dark colors or unusually bright colors. I also do not like to use dark or loud colors on my websites. If your website is primarily a content site where you want the readers to read, using white as background color and black as text color is the best way to retain the users. Seocheckout is the best example on how a website should be.

I would like to suggest that you should make your website a mobile friendly as well. Most people nowadays are now using their smartphones to surf the internet because of the portability of the device to access any websites at the touch of the fingertips. There are themes or scripts to be used to make it mobile friendly because it is very important to drive more visitors to your site.

Try to make your website simple yet informative to the point that all the information is on the form already. Do not include so many links or pages. The simple the better because most people appreciate simple things rather than complex layout or website. Add also a corner for fun like games or catchy to the eye so that it will encourage any sector or any age range who will visit your website.

Well for starters you need to establish a good design. As others have said in multiple discussions here, webdesign is an extremely important factor when it comes to attracting and keeping users. You want to have a site that feels open and welcoming with proper choices in color combinations, typography, and formatting.

The ability to easily navigate is key as well when trying to sell products. Give your customers the option to control categorization and filters so that they can easily find what they are looking for. The ability to search by rating, relevance, cost, and category is a key feature on websites which sell products. Often times when I visit a site without that option, I am inclined to look elsewhere.

Another way to make it user-friendly is by adding a chat (or bot chat), where some questions about the product could be answered according to the most frequently asked questions!

Hi there
Thanks for your query. I would like to say it is depend on many factors. But, for making user friendly website, you must to concentrate on site speed. It is first and pre-condition. Server speed also very much need for SEO factor. If your site speed slow or if your site response slow, user should go away. That concentrate on net and clean front end interface for your site. And make easy to access to any feature by easy navigation. Menu bar should be clear to understand for user. Use simple header and footer also.

I always look out for 3 thing when it comes to user friendly websites, and that is
1. The ease of navigation
2. Pageload time
3. Page structuring
every other thing is just added value. It is important for your website to be user friendly to avoid users leaving your site immediatly they come in and also help in reducing your bounce rates too.

Thanks for pointing out these points.
I will keep these advice to apply for my new websites.

Do you think colors plays an important role for the success of a website?

I think the first step is simply to assess the profile of your audience. In general terms, the well organized website with strategically positioned menus and submenus, and organized content with subtitles and quality images are also very important factors.

When the user accesses your site, he simply can not think, that is, the content must be positioned in a way that he practically accesses it automatically.

When accessing your site, think with the head of your audience. Try to identify confusing elements that could disrupt user navigation.

The speed of the website is also a very important point because if your site is slow, the user will definitely give up accessing it.

In order to make a website user-friendly, try making the interface much easier to use and dont put too much choices and buttons. Make the color and theme of the website pleasing to the eyes too, not too bright and not too dark. If possible, try making the theme appear lively. Lastly, make sure that they will be able to see easily what they came for in that website.

I agree with your opinion, honestly I am having a website with more colors and when I asked reviews on forums then more people didn't like it and they wanted to suggest to use less colors and lighter colors. I am considering this to make my website design better.

Thanks

A tag system would work nicely. I've seen a lot of websites with terrible tags, so when you search for a specific keyword, irrelevant results come out. Aside from that, keep the UI simplistic and with the right amount of buttons only. Don't have too many to look complicated, and don't have too little to look like there's barely anything that the site offers.

For me, user friendly for a website means the user does not need to think very hard in order to navigate or to find a specific function. First is the design of the homepage, that compact homepages are the best, short and consice. Scrolling down for a kilometer, so to speak, gives the user a hard time. And aside from the menu, the miscellaneous functions should be visible in the homepage like the FAQ, contact, and of course, the login and register buttons. The color combination is also one of my concerns because I get irritated with so bright colors and also with very dark themes.

The issue of having a user friendly site should be taken into account in the designing phase by the web designer (whether that is you or a hired professional). However, such an important issue often gets taken for granted.

What you need to consider making your site User Friendly:
• Navigation and orientation
• Functionality
• Help and support
• Error management and user control
• Informing about progress
• Making them understand by using the right language
• Consistency helps
• Visual clarity The importance of each of these components depends on the type, size and content of your website.

All suggestions in this thread are quite helpful, and I myself have learned a few tips from some of them.

I would like to add, that you might also want to look into the usage profile of the type of users that you are targeting with your website. Like, more advanced users with a lot of experience working with different types of websites might be harder to please, but so do beginning users whose requirements are simple, but they don't quite know how to express their requirements. Or there might also be a class of users who you wouldn't mind if they find your website difficult to use. Just a reminder, of course, that you can't make all people happy. You just need to identify which users you should be making happy.

Some notes to pay attention from my own experience:
- Avoid the terrible pop ups
- Please be organized and make a simple to use menu
- Make it easy to read and check around
- Don't make it bulky
I know, something basic but believe me, I've had issues with those while online

A few more tips:
  • Make it well organized.
  • Don't use too much colors.
  • Use readable and regular fonts.
  • Don't put too much info on a page.
  • Avoid incessant popups (this can be really annoying).
  • Avoid too many adverts.
  • Make it mobile friendly too.
I hope this helps.

Personally, I will check out a site that has easy navigation and clear terms about purchase. So to make a site user-friendly start with the following:

Let the titles be attractive i.e catchy
Navigating the site should be easily done
The Logo should be professionally done
the design of the blog should be catchy even with the theme.

Most people tend to skim web content rather than read it word for word, so it’s important to make sure your web content is “scannable.” Do this by keeping paragraphs short, breaking information up with headers/images and keeping the language simple. As a rule of thumb, keep the writing on your website at a 5th-grade reading level.
Speed
If your page takes four seconds to load, 25% of users will abandon the page. Why is that? Well, simply put, people are impatient. To speed up your website, make sure your images aren’t oversized, and the site is free of flash players and excess coding.
Good Design
Contrasting colors, good use of white space and a clear font are all things to consider when designing your website. It’s also important that your website is intuitive so users don’t become frustrated. That brings us to the next tip
...
Logical Navigation
The key to organizing large amounts of information is simplicity, and, to do that, you need a good navigation. Every page on your site should be within two clicks and the best way to make this happen is with a simple navigation.
