Is it still difficult to run an online business?

A few years ago, a lot of people were hesitant to start a business online because of high startup costs and the fear of failing. But has this difficulty disappeared in recent years? And do you think it is much easier to start a business online now? I believe that with the ease of buying web hosting, domains and the fact that there is now so much information online about creating your own website, it is much easier for anyone to start their own online business. The fact that sites now make it easier to understand how to setup hosting and domains, literally anyone with some money can start their own site.

For me it is really hard to start an online business because I can't the people who are interested on what I'm selling. Plus with all of the competitions that is doing the same thing, it's hard to be noticed. It's like your a grain of sand on the seashore. Everything thing seemed alike. Even if you have the resources to start a good online business, your still not certain if it would click or not because you'll still depending on the traffic. Fewer visit on your site, lesser opportunity for a sale to happen. Making investing at this kind of business riskier.

We have the same feeling of fear in starting an online business. But my main concern is not the potential clients but how to operate the business properly. First off, you need to spend lots of time on your website or social media account for you don’t know when the prospects or clients will knock. And handling the clients is not an easy task unlike in a physical store where you can talk in person. Chatting online is a different game for me.

It can be but it also can't be lol, Sorry if that confuses you. Depending on Your niche and how much effort you put into it each day. Say if you have an online business and your just waiting for Google to find you or anyone then you be waiting a long time. You need to put in the groundwork for your business to get established online. Try adding to directories and like I say depends on what your business is.

Try daily promote on social media accounts:

Facebook
Twitter
Google+
Reddit

There are plenty of more out there. If it is a business website you need boosting work on gaining more exposure use facebook and groups even create a page and add a call to action button. Make a business Twitter account, Come up with your own specific hashtag to brand yourself.

Try self-promote and there is always paid promotions like Facebook campaigns and so on. Even Seocheckout members take a look at the search on here like social signals, or Social bookmarks and these will help strengthen your website also traffic targeted visitors to your site. The list goes on, But I do wish you all the best and success just put in the work and you will soon see some success hard work does pay off.

I agree to the social media promotions. It is one of the most proven and tested way of promoting your online business. And also you can refer to your friends and ask for help but for sure they'll want something in return.

Making any business successful is difficult. Starting up a business from the grounds up, was never easy and it never will be. If you expect it to be easy and ''quick money'' then you shouldn't get into it.

However, the whole online business aspects have changed a lot through the years. As much as it might have gotten ''easier'' to start since it doesn't take a lot of money to begin, it is really difficult to get noticed and become relevant. You have SO many online based business now that have already established their markets and you will now enter their territory. You can succeed but it takes time, knowledge, patience, determination and many other things.

It is easy to create a site with tutorials and guides everywhere nowadays. What is hard is having an idea that is sustainable and can generate profit, if not you have to be running the sites from your pocket which in the long run is not feasible.

Well, having a good idea is not the only thing needed. You need the capital to set everything up. You need another capital to market it so as to get traction and again, you need to persevere. People just want to be the next Mark Z. overnight, it don't work that way.

Running an online business is more difficult there days. Few years ago anyone with little skills, knowledge and money could become a successful online entrepreneur, however, these days there is a tough competition. Most of the niches are already covered online and it is difficult to capture the market. The market has been largely captured by the old "entrepreneurs" and the newbies will find difficult to outwit them.

I don't think things changed that much, in fact it's probably a little harder to run an online business nowadays unless you have a really good niche. The problem is that everything is so saturated, there are tons of site copies out there that pretty much do the same thing. If you don't have a good idea I wouldn't recommend starting out.

True. The market for online businesses today is very crowded. You have to put extra effort to stand out and get noticed. With that being said, one thing you should do is put some traffic on your website or blog and get as many people as you can.

For newbies, i still think it's hard but a lot easier than before. Obviously, we have a lot of information online these days, but the downside is that still there's a lot of things which is fake, not real, that means it's hard to trust anyone in the internet business. About website designing and hosting, it becomes easier now these days. But still, you need a good niche to attract people to your blogs or websites. Hardwork is always required, either it's online work or doing a physical work outside.

Any business (whether physical or online) needs hard work to succeed. An online business actually has many facilities compared to a physical business, but that does not mean that working online is a thousand wonders. I have been working online for over five years and I can assure you that I have always had hard work, but I do not regret having dropped out of a steady job to become a freelancer.

I think online business is easy for those who have some web based persona. And they are providing some content to the users. I have realized that in such context it can be useful for them to make use of the promotion. And there will always be people who want to buy from such business users. You can see that it's not meant for managing the business properly be it online or offline. That's for sure.

I don't think it is much easier to start a business online now, I think it was much easier to start a business online in the past, for example, 10 years ago. In 2007 was not so many businesses as are now, so now is harder to find more customers than it was in the past. Since most customers activity on the Internet is very high they are more selective with the business they choose because there are too many from what they can choose!

I think that it is not difficult for everyone. I know some people who have been successful. However, when it comes to me it didn't really work. I started an online business some years back where I was selling hair accessories and souvenirs and it was taking so long for me to even get one order. I even tried to do some advertising on Facebook. Eventually I had to stop as it was not worthwhile. I guess that some people are lucky.

It can be. You will need a lot of promotion to let people know that you're out there. It's hard when you don't have any promotion or SEO tricks because your online business might get covered by other bigger businesses that have long been doing the job that they do. You can use social media ads to your advantage however, Facebook ads tend to work really well for me.

I believe it's hard to start if you have no technical knowledge. You will have to rely on other people do get the job done. Hence, plenty of research is required. I think a proper business plan needs to be created so you have a structure to understand whether the business is worth doing a not.

Starting an online business is hard, just like any other business. You have to do your home work first . Ask yourself questions as :Who are my target audience? What problems do they face? What solution can I provide for them? Can my product solved their problems? Is there any other product and company that can cater to their problem? There just the few many questions you can ask yourself. But Internet is much more easier to stay than offline

There are really two sides to this answer. The short answer is yes, it is easier to start an online business. The long answer is that yes, while it is easier to start an online business these days it certainly isn't easy to keep it afloat and thriving. In my opinion, it is so hard to keep an online business going exactly because of how open and available the resources are these days. There are many services online which can help you start your own business, and a lot of people have been looking into it. For that reason, the market is oversaturated and it is really hard to stand out. If you can't stand out, you're simply going to go under.

It's interesting, having discussed the pros and cons and possibilities of starting an online business makes me reflect on what it takes to start just about any business online or offline. The fact is the world is more populated now than it was before this also means whenever there is an acknowledgement of a going trend that can possibly result in a business frontier this idea will be pursued by more and more people every time. Such is the same in the online arena, we have existing opportunities to establish an online business and we have companies and individuals who are in constant pursuit of these opportunities. Running an online business is not difficult, however, the most difficult thing for an online business is converting the traffic to sales. Before you can drive sales for your online business, you need traffic. You can generate traffic from search engine marketing, social media marketing, search engine optimization, social media optimization. Through these traffic generating methods, you can get traffic for your business. However, if traffic does not convert to sales, the traffic number is meaning less. The main problem for online business is traffic conversion.

An online business is getting easier and easier. I have seen how some of my friends are doing drop shipping in social media. They seem to be earning good money because they have been posting about their business since some years ago. And some of them have created their own website since they think that it is better that way to get more regular clients. It's actually harder than running a physical business because an online business has a lot more factors than its physical counterpart. Things like your gadgets and computers, internet connection and speed, your website or platform, and the list goes on.
