If I were to outsource my tasks. I'd surely be outsourcing the content development part. Because that is more draining. And it's not easy to make money when you spend hours on trying to write content and building links. Most of the time you have to outsource such task which does not yield in some benefit such as that. I have learned it and trying to understand how that part works as well. So on that basis, I'd say outsourcing requires experiment. Some of the time firms may help with your requirement and some of the time you have to it yourself.

I do my own SEO. I have been doing this for many years. I was introduced to SEO through an online course. The course not only taught me to write online articles properly, monetize contents but also SEO techniques. I not only do SEO for my websites and contents, but also for clients. Since I am already offering my SEO services to clients, I may not hire SEO expert to work on my websites, however, I understand the importance of hiring an expert. If you don't know SEO, you should definitely hire and an expert, even if you know SEO, there are many benefits of having an expert to work for you. Only the expert will know the latest trends on SEO.

Maybe if you have zero knowledge on SEO then it is reasonable for you to hire an expert on whether to have him do that job or to teach you how to do the job. As I had said in another discussion, hiring an SEO expert is good for big websites only. For small personal websites like a blog, I guess it is better for you to do the SEO work yourself because of budgetary constraints.

That's true. I have never hired an seo expert and I have always done my seo work, However, I know my limitation and I cannot make my site number one. In order to reach that position, you need a professional. Like you said it is not possible to hire an expert if you have a small blog, however, you can consider hiring an expert by paying one time fees and reaping benefits for many years to come.

I do most of the SEO work in my blog and far so good I'm not doing badly with it.

I try to look out on what's new in the SEO world to emulate.I also look at what my friends wouldn't call them competition does and try to do same or enhance mine.

Hiring an expert isn't such a bad idea. It good that from time to time an expert input is allowed to breath new air and life on a blog,so with this I think hiring a SEO expert is pertinent.

Maybe if I had a forum online then I would have hired a SEO expert. So far I have only a blog which I am managing that quite well. I read some books about SEO and I have also been going through many tutorials online. The best thing is that I actually have a friend who knows a bit about SEO and he has been helping me ever since I started blogging. Without him I wouldn't have reached that far.

I think these are all very good reasons to outsource, and most of the time it is what I advise my clients since I am also not an SEO expert but since I am somewhat in that realm I always get asked about it. I think it is best because the services aren't all that expensive and the time you get to save you could just put into something more important which is often something that will just generate you revenue. Learning everything that comes with SEO might be worth it if you feel like you will be needing it regularly throughout the lifespan of your business, but more often than not, the advantages of just hiring someone will often outweigh the time and effort you'd need to put in just to get the same or even less effective results than if you had just paid someone to do the job better instead.

I actually do all of my SEO completely alone. I have never really hired any SEO experts to help me out. Everything that I've learned about this area was self-taught from the internet. Some information was obtained through video guides and some through articles. I do think that if you have many websites and you're constantly dealing with other aspects such as content creation, marketing, advertising, then it can be wise to hire an SEO person to help you with the workload. But then you, of course, also have to be able to afford their service.

I understand that some do their own SEO - but unless they are able to find out of this world guest posting opportunities, I don't see how. I mean, I don't think it's that easy to score guest posting opportunities without either a lot of money or something to bargain with. However, I could be wrong, though.

I recently started teaching SEO to a junior co-worker and I realised how difficult SEO really is and how much SEO evolved in the last 5 years. I remember the good old days of SEO when things were easy and Keyword Planner was the only tool you ever needed as well as the fact that you only needed to learn a few basic concepts about on-page optimization and link building.

Nowadays you need tons of paid tools and a huge data base of knowledge as well as personal implemented tests. You can't learn SEO if you don't practice it so if you don't want to outsource you may well learn SEO and change your profession because there is no way you'll be having success with just a few SEO techniques.

When I received the first SEO lesson, my instructor only taught about using keywords. later I understood SEO is more than using keywords, it is also related to site design , site speed, backlinks and such more. These it is never enough to work on the SEO techniques that you used to in the past, new techniques are evolving and you need to use them as well.

I must say that with the recent experiences I've had when it comes to the issue of outsourcing works to others is concerned, I have to be careful while giving out works to others in the name of outsourcing the work to others in the industry that can do a perfect job all round for me. Well, since you said it is going to be an expert that would be handling the SEO work, then I think he/she won't want to do things that would dent his/her reputation. So, working with an expert is cool to me.

I have been reading in several discussions that SEO specialists have the tools and the skills to help your website get a higher search engine ranking. However, what baffles me is the reason that SEO is not an exact science that the net result cannot be expected to occur at once and worse, no time is given for the results to be seen. With that reasoning, I have the impression that those specialists are somewhat guessing with some aspects of SEO. And that’s what I don’t like.
