Baby steps into Social Media Management

Everyone knows what social media management is and if you don't, you're probably living under a really nice rock.  It can be a daunting task when you're a newly formed business or just starting out online, but don't worry, Uncle Razzy is here to hold your hand through the process lol Baby steps into Social Media Management

When you're starting out with SMM it can seem like there are 900,000 things to do when it comes to posting the right content and managing everything on social media profiles, such as:

  • Posting the right content
  • Adding the perfect pictures
  • Adding the right links to posts
  • Posting at the right times
  • Monitoring your click throughs
  • Tracking your sales through social media
  • Figuring out what gets liked, shared and commented on the most
... this list can go on forever lol

It can get very overwhelming at first, but you don't have to worry too much.  Just get super focused on one platform and develop your profile well enough so that you know exactly what to do, when to do it and how to track the performance of your work.  It's not easy getting into social media management if you've only done posts on your personal Facebook account that only have videos of kittens playing around.  Yes, it's very adorable but in the end you're not going to be able to do the same thing for your business.

Separate yourself from your business and don't think that what you find funny, everyone else will.  Stick within your niche and post what you know your audience is interested in.  Don't go crazy right at the start, you'll want to post slowly to analyze everything and figure out what works best.  If you post 3 times to your business's facebook page and only one of them gets likes, it's due to something that you can figure out.  Check the times of when you posted, check what you posted and figure out why they are clicking.  It could be as simple as posting when everyone is on lunch or even the image you used which encouraged clicks.

Once you master one platform, move onto the next and start dominating that one while still posting to the first.  You'll be doing this until you get through all of your social profiles and are mastering everything which will bring in a good amount of traffic and sales Baby steps into Social Media Management

You can get so far down the road doing everything yourself that you might want to look into automating some things.  You can look into something like HootSuite.com and have everything scheduled over the course of a week or a month, it's up to you.  You can sit down for a day and schedule your months worth of social media posts, but be sure to not ignore the comments and people mentioning you or sharing your posts.  You need to be involved at all times when it comes to social media management, don't forget that Baby steps into Social Media Management  Treat your audience like they are all paying customers and they will return the favor by hitting that like button or sharing you post without you asking Baby steps into Social Media Management

In Conclusion:
Social media marketing is not an easy thing to do, but you can if you're diligent and persistent Baby steps into Social Media Management  Get to work social medai marketer and start bringing in that sweet traffic Baby steps into Social Media Management  It will take time to build up your profiles, so don't get discouraged if it's taking you a few months to start seeing a decent amount of engagement on your posts.  It will come and you will be able to see all your hard work is paying off Baby steps into Social Media Management

I confront with the idea "posting on the right time." On social media, it is very likely that you have friends and followers from around the world. Because of the difference in time zone, your working hours may be sleeping hours for your follower/friend from social media.
I liked the idea "Figuring out what gets liked, shared and commented on the most." We should always share the content that is getting response.

When I was starting with twitter I just used to spend hours following bunch of random people first few days. The outcome was nice as I have gained quite a decent number of people who have followed me back. There are always ways to get to people. Like for like, share for share, follow for follow. They might not be the best thing, but they will surely get you going in the start

Yes. Like a tit for tat. There's no shame in that. You must not despise good beginnings. I applaud you for being humble. Unfortunately, some people feel they are too above that.

Well, people who might feel they are above certain things, might as well be under certain things. As a businessman of any kind, you must be genuine, friendly, have patience and be out-coming. If you put yourself above your customers, good luck on your road Baby steps into Social Media Management

Majority of my friends are residing where I am so the time of posting is also relevant. When I would open my Facebook account by midnight hour, the active ones are those who are abroad and the locals seem to be inactive because they are probably already sleeping. The best time for posting when the locals are active is by 9 am or in the late afternoon. I easily get likes and reactions when I post during that period.

Posting time becomes relevant if your followers are in the same time zone. However, if you have followers from around the globe, there is no right posting time. I never consider posting time, I post when I want. Some posts gain traction and some does not. I try to share the types of posts that get more attraction.

Keeping up with your social media is another job, in addition to maintaining your websites and blogs. If you can't afford to hire extra help then automation tools like HootSuite.com and BufferApp.com give you an extra pair of hands. They make social media posting so much easier. With those tools you don't have to worry about “the right time to post” because you can set up a schedule for the times you decided were the “peak periods” and it's automatic. My friend uses HootSuite. I use BufferApp. We are both satisfied. I use the free plan. If you get the upgrade, I've heard that it's even better.

Very helpful for when you're going on vacation or can't remember to post every day. Those programs are lifesavers. Facebook even has its own Facebook scheduler for free right in your account if you make one.

I agree that getting into the social media management can seem like a big scary jungle at first but fear not! Razzy explained the required baby steps very well and if you follow them you shouldn't really have too many issues. Just stay focused and motivated - remember your initial goals and strive towards those. Just try to see social media management as something positive that can generate huge amounts of traffic and take your business to the next level IF done correctly. Don't be afraid of it.

Remember - the start is always the hardest but then it gets much easier.

I think re-sharing content definitely helps you gain some momentum. You can try that formula and see what works out for you. I have tried to promote the client pages this way. And so far that is working out just fine. But sometimes it does make me wonder if the social media management is possible when we just re-share the content. Real content is harder to even manage if you are not sure how you wish to work with it. However, I think it takes time to gain likes and shares in fact I am doing this for years and hopefully this works out again.

All the tips that you listed are great. Going on at the right time is important. I like tools that analyze web traffic and tell you what time of day or the week is best to post. That will save you a lot of stress in the long run! Resharing other content is high as well! You get to promote your stuff while someone else helps you. It's a win-win for both people

For me posting at the right time am not to sure what times as I am in the UK and with different time zones and all. Some also use buffer and other great management websites tools out there some are free some are trials but there kind of worth the money really if it helps you grown and expand business.

Thank you so much for these amazing tips. I did a few internships for other companies in social media management. At first I struggled a little to keep up with it but then I got used to it and once it picked a good momentum, it got easier. Hard work, determination, consistency, dedication and a pinch of positivity can help get the page running. I am certainly going to keep these points in mind the next time I manage social media. you are right on that step of figuring out what gets liked, shared and commented most, this helps to get to know what to focus on your next
posts, it helps to know what interests your readers and when you read
the comments of your readers or followers you get to know where you need
to evaluate. it's very important to keep checking what your readers
think about what you write.

From my personal experience, I find that many sites have the tendency to make one too many posts on the same topic. I understand that a topic may be trending but this irritates me since there is no content depth as the content is split into too many smaller sized postings. I prefer to have one good feature post instead of making spammy posts.

Those listed are just the basic steps anybody should be acquainted with, needs to post the right contents to interest people and have a follow back.Too many posts irritate or put people off, so one needs to guard against that.

Adding the right images and link or links is a big plus to the content or post. Most times I would have loved to skip a post but the picture would attract me to want to look at the headlines. So adding a clear and neat picture is a plus to a content.

This is just the right steps to what I'm finding on how to develop the skills to manage my social media networks such as Facebook and the rest. I will try to use some of the tips you listed above on that.

I like the #1 and #2 and also the last item in your list. For me, it is important that you post the right content. Avoid posting about controversial issues and indecent photos which may put you in hot water. On the other hand, posting pictures will definitely enhance the views and reactions to your posts. Since it is all your posts then you can check what posts get the highest number of likes and comments. That is like a survey of the likes and dislikes of your friends in social media regarding your posts.
