Haha, Facebook, the number one relationship destroyer! It's so stupid how much people care about Facebook. They get so overly attached to it. I do admit that if I'd lose my phone I'd panic too though. But not because of the phone itself but because of all the data that I have on it... and personal information, pictures, and so on.

The 10th fact is a very good showing of how much social media influences customers and that it's wise to use these platforms for marketing purposes.

I agree, I think Facebook can be a number one reason to ruin a relationship. It could be photos, jealousy of other peoples relationships, comments received, comments written, even purely friend requests say with an ex significant other. There are so many red flags luckily, my fiancé does not do Facebook nor does he care. We did make a Facebook together that he hardly uses just purely to separate my personal Facebook vs. For Family use.

I think trust and breaks in trust are what really take down those relationships. Facebook displays it to the world which makes it worst. Also, so many people are just flat out careless and don't understand that putting things on the internet stays around, for years sometimes.

Some people post just for the sake of posting. They do not know what they post is permanent even if it is "erased". Some even lose their jobs over what they post, too.

Yeah, it's wild. It's quite easy to be ignorantly wreckless. Deleting a post doesn't mean it's gone. It can either be found if the person tries hard enough to get it or someone has a copy of it. Got to be very careful what you do online.

It's really mindblowing how Facebook and social media has become a staple in people's lifestyle. I still can't believe people successful advertise on FB. When did the platform become such a marketplace? Social media has really become a way of living for some people for good or worse. Might as well benefit from it since that's the case.

They don't get attached, they get addicted, just like a drug addict, they strive for attention the "like" is their form of dose.

I find it curious that "Up to 23% of Facebook users admit to checking their Facebook account at least 5x a day." - Seriously, only 23%? This number has to be bigger! I simply don't know anyone that have a Facebook account and doesn't excessively check it every few minutes.

I myself check Facebook at least 10 times per day and I'm what you call the uninterested user, I rarely post anything (just a handful posts a year) and I never post pictures and stuff like that.
I guess for many people it isn't considered "checking" if they don't leave the platform in the first place, lol.

I also have many friends who are so attached with Facebook as if it is their life. One Facebook user had posted an image with a caption that says “get a life” that was intended for Facebook addicts. What they do is to roam around the Facebook Pages and share whatever looks interesting to them although most of the times what they share are nonsensical items.

I did not know the statistics for Facebook!

Here are my responses to each 10 of your points:

#1. I honestly think too many people look up to Facebook or Instagram on beauty. Sometimes it is just not practical, or people post photos with filters, and edit too much. #2. I have no problem with Facebook or social media, because my fiancé does not care. He does not use it thankfully so there is no drama there. In fact, we had to make another Facebook as a “joint” because now we’re engaged and his family is requesting to add me on my personal account. He would prefer to have family separate, so that is what we did per his request.

#3. I don’t see social media affecting me in bad way, just sometimes I have nothing to do or feeling ‘nosy’ I would venture onto social media so it could be a time waster!

#4. I have never lost my phone per se, but there has been a few scares!

#5. I am sure if people actual lost their phone, they’d panic, and be upset because now a days a smartphone is not cheap to replace! I paid upfront for my Apple iPhone 7 Plus and I sure do not want to spend $1350+ for a new one!

#6. I admit, I check my Facebook or social media when lounging or when I wake up, before I go to bed.

#7. I usually just chat with family, sometimes friends but they are people who do not live nearby usually out of the country or in a different state. I do not add people I do not know or met physically.

#8. I like to pin food recipes and crafts.

#9. I check my Facebook a few times a day and usually just quickly - there isn’t really anything to look at for long periods of time anyway on there.

$15. No, I love shopping but I do not get influences by what is advertised, or what people post that they purchased.

Since Simplymh started the trend I'll continue it.

#1 Simple hit the nail right on the head, the way people edit and over edit pictures on social media
using that as a measuring stick is a guaranteed path to
disappointment.

#2 Facebook doesn't effect my relationships I usually have strong trust in my relationships.

#3 I think that social media can be a colossal waste of time, but I enjoy it on a few occasions. It's
something to do. For that reason, I want to learn how to promote and
make money on it.

#4 and#5 Losing your phone sucks, I could care less about FB at that point.

#6 With smartphones checking mail and social media has become a task of leisure so no surprise there.

#7 Conversations online tend to create talking point in my relationships. Or calls to action.

#8 and11 I Pinterest seems so blah to me but I hear it's very useful for project building so I'd like to
learn that.

#9 I live overseas and 50% the time someone is on their phone in Thailand, from my pov, they are on FB.
It's wild.

#10 I hate being marketed toward, you have to really break through some barriers to sell me.

#12 I have no idea what google +1 is.Got to get in the loop

I've had a real situation concerning Facebook and the way it can influence people. One of my very close friends got addicted to Facebook, quite literally. She wakes up to Facebook, breathes Facebook and religiously posts at least 6-7 posts a day and falls asleep while scrolling through Facebook. I don't think the person using Facebook realizes how much it can change the person and have an impact on the other people surrounding them. It's even more frustrating when someone tries to talk to them but they're too busy Facebooking and don't even have the energy to lift their heads and listen. I never really thought Facebook could have had such an influence when it first started up. Seeing as to how it started changing my perception and behaviour, I actually started disliking Facebook. Now I go online once in every 2-3 days just to like all the posts my friend shares or she'd be upset that I don't care 10+ Slightly Concerning And Very Interesting Facts about Social Media

Facebook can destroy relationships. My friend's wife actually met another man through Facebook and fell in love with him and left my friend to this man. My friend tried his best to save his relationship but couldn't as his wife didn't want to stay with him. I even read about a case where a girl met a man she befriended on Facebook and the man ended up killing her. We must know who we interact with on Facebook. I personally know some people who are really addicted to Facebook and this is quite bad.

For me, there have only been 3 value adds as far as social media is concerned

A way to reconnect or connect with family and friends
A way to make new friends and learn new things
FREE ADVERTISING!

Advertising is a huge business expense. But social media gives you an audience of potential customers at practically no cost!

I have blogs and websites. Social media is a “friend” to small business owners, home business entrepreneurs, and work-at-home professionals.

All that other stuff about beauty and this and that? (O.o) Get a life, people!

I am surprised with the #2 that says about the effect in relationship. That 74% is disturbing. Can you imagine that 3 out of 4 users of social media have experienced a negative effect on their relationship? I am not questioning the veracity of the numbers but if that is true, oh my, social media is a bad influence for couples. I know that there are users who are looking for partners and there are also many who have found a partner regardless if they are married or not but not that many. I don’t think I can come to terms with that 3 out of 4 statistics.
