7 Online Marketing tips for people starting out

When I stared out I wish I had a list of online marketing tips that could help me out along the way.  I didn't do as much research as I should have and I just pushed forward learning as I went.  If I did happen to have some online marketing tips I would probably have been successful much quicker than I was.  By not means am I rich, but I do make enough to pay my bills and go on a vacation once a year.  So I'm hoping this discussions get in front of the right people, especially those people who are starting off in online marketing 7 Online Marketing tips for people starting out

10 Online Marketing Tips For Newbies

1. You need to be blogging
Blogging isn't just getting content on your website about your niche.  Blogging on your website is more of a lead generation tool and also a way to refine your writing skills in order to close more deals.  Blogging is not only a good way to help you with your writing, but the amount of traffic you can pull in from the search engines is staggering.  With a bunch of well written articles that are for your viewers, you will begin to see that you're gaining likes, shares and even some traffic from the search engines since they like what you had to say 7 Online Marketing tips for people starting out

2. Content will always be king
When it comes to writing, you will need to spin words of gold in order to stay in the good graces of your viewers.  Give them loads of information for free through your blog posts and your static pages, and in turn you will notice that you're getting more referrals and increased rankings in the SERPs due to it.  Of course you will need to have all of your content optimized for the search engines as well as have it easily readable for your viewers, which isn't always an easy thing to do, but you'll have to figure it out along the way 7 Online Marketing tips for people starting out

3.  A unique idea is usually better than one which has been beaten to death.
In today's world, not many people have an original thought in their head.  It's sad to say, but it's most definitely true if you think about it.  How many marketers out there are doing the same exact thing because someone before them did it and was successful?  I would say it's close to 99% of them.  The ones who are really successful are people who think outside of the box and do their own thing.  Sure you can be successful doing something that someone else already perfected, but you can strike it rich if you make your own idea profitable since you will likely not have any competition 7 Online Marketing tips for people starting out

4. Always be building your email list.
When it comes to running a website, you will always have an email address.  Email marketing will never go away because we now have third party services such as mailchimp and aweber which help you get your emails inboxed.  Building your list from day 1 will help you out immensely on day 500 or day 1,000 because you will have all those people to market to when you launch a new service or website 7 Online Marketing tips for people starting out

5. Get on Twitter
Even if you don't think you'll have a massive following, you should be on twitter posting some tweets at least twice a week.  This will only help you get seen by the search engines and possibly pull in some additional clients.  You never know who's watching your profiles and how big they can get if you're not trying 7 Online Marketing tips for people starting out

6. Build a Facebook page
Facebook is one of the biggest websites in the world, the only other rival it really has is Googles search engine and that's not even in the same niche lol.  By building a Facebook page for your website or business you're spreading out your marketing net which will funnel in sales and clients over time.  You can share your blog posts on your Facebook account through automation or by doing it manually and everyone will see it, hopefully lol.  You can also set up a PPC campaign through Facebook in order to build your audience and eventually start gaining a decent amount of clients through it 7 Online Marketing tips for people starting out

7. Reviews are what you need
Today people will trust any review they see on sites like Yelp, SuperPages, etc. because it's usually from people who have used the service or website before.  Now I'm not saying they're all 100% truthful reviews since there are competitors out there that would rather harm your sales than try to increase their own.  It's like they think by giving you a bad review they're going to be increasing their own sales by 100 a day, which doesn't happen.

You need to get positive reviews from your clients as much as you can.  Give them incentives to review you on social media, review sites, blogs, etc. and they will likely help you out if they were happy.  You need to remember that happy people don't leave reviews as often as angry people, so you need to urge your happy people to post reviews.

In Conclusion:
These are my 7 online marketing tips for people starting out in the industry 7 Online Marketing tips for people starting out  Follow what I said above and you should be on your way to success much quicker than I was when I started out lol 7 Online Marketing tips for people starting out

Good points. My top ones are: quality, unique content, and usage of all social media platforms. Like you've said, these two are extremely important not only when you're starting out but also to keep your business going.

Quality is always over quantity. Every customer will agree if you ask them. So before you start posting things or blogging, make sure that you are producing good content and not just same old one that every third website already has. You need to stand out from the mass and attract the customers to YOU.

Social media platforms are a no-brainer. It is currently, hands down, the best marketing strategy that you can do and it's FREE. You literally don't have to spend any money on any of them and you can advertise all you want. Focus on building a good followers base, try to interact with them as much as possible and maybe throw some contests - people love those.

These are definitely great points. However, I have some thing to add. I don't think it is a good idea to stick with facebook and twitter for marketing purpose, you should also use other options like Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google +, and Instagram. Pinterest has 150 million monthly active users. Pinterest users are also buyers. According to a stat I read online, 80 percent Pinterest Users who visit the marketplace are buyers.

I will go for unique contents and social media. Those 2 factors will be the best combination for people with marketing work particularly for the newbies. Unique content is not only for the SEO but for your existing clients and prospective clients as well. Even an e-commerce site needs to have new contents otherwise it will look static and not good in the eyes of the client. With social media, that is one fertile place to do the marketing of your business. All you need is the effort and creativity.

I agree with you Mr.Razzy. Content is the king. It is important to have unique and quality content if we want to be successful online. The second thing is to advertise our content through social media. Social bookmarking is the main source of targeted traffic. Search engine always prefers to rank the blog with high-quality unique content. If you want to rank high in the search engine then it is important to write the content in your own words rather copying or using the spinners.

I agree with all points, but I am not sure whether #4 works or not. First of all, you need a list. Secondly, the subscribers on your list must be the people who are genuinely interested in your contents. If the subscribers are not interested in my contents, they will never open the email, even if they check the email, they may never click the links, even if they do click the links they may not interact on the page.
Conversion rate is the most important thing in email marketing.

I would really want to try out blogging for I can write amazing contents for the blog, but my issue is that I have not seen who can really help to put me through on the tricks and ways that I can use to ensure that more visitors show on my site every day. So, if I can get it done, then I will try it out.

Blogging is not a very difficult work. You can try free blogging platforms, however, even starting a paid blog is not very costly. You can get a dot com for around $35, if you opt for a less popular extension, you can get a domain for less than $3. You can find many hosts that offer $3 per month hosting. Namecheap offers shared hosting for $14.88 a year for the first year. Once you have domain and hosting, install wordpress. It is really easy to set up a wordpress site.

I totally agree with you especially with the point on reviews, this is the very first thing that comes to mind when once a product or service is put out for sales or marketed.would be users first port of call is to look at for reviews. One has to be very careful so as not to have bad reviews because this can greatly make or mar one's financial freedom. With just one or two negative reviews, one can be in a deep mess by other users.

I agree with your point #1 on blogging. A blog is one way of connecting to people and if your network gets large, that's already a venue to promote your business especially if it is related to your blog. Maybe that is the reason why one pet shop owner was urging me to put up my own blog for pets so he can use my blog as a way to promote his business And I agree that it is easier for a blog to promote a related business.
