Using Facebook Ads to promote your website and/or services

Did you have any success with Facebook ads for promoting your products or services? At first I lost a lot of money because I did not know how to target my audience. I thought that if i choose a broad audience I can target more people. I learned the hard way that it does not matter how many people click on your add if they don't convert into clients. My advice is to do a research and find out who exactly is your target audience.

Yes, I have used Facebook Ads before and had great success. It increased my business' traffic by a large margin. But I agree with you. Always do your research prior to using any sort of ad services otherwise you will most likely waste money. You want to be as optimal as possible.
I think Facebook Ads is a really good option especially for small business's that are trying to get more recognised and attract clients.

Facebook traffic is fine for getting followers who can be used as a list. However, I'm not sure if it's the way to go for on the spot conversions. Note, the traffic is probably cool to cold. In other words, the web surfers there are not in the right buying cycle stage.

I agree, Facebook traffic doesn't always turn into more sales. I have learned that from the few ads I placed on Facebook, I got more clicks but nobody really brought my services, and I did not get much engagement from those Facebook ads, but overall Facebook ads can work, if you know exactly who you target audience is.

To start, I've had personal experience with Facebook ads, and several of my friends have as well. Facebook ads, in my opinion, are a hit or miss. I agree with idealmike's post above. Along with thorough research, you need to ask those five key point questions above. If you're still fuzzy on the what age group, ethnicity, leading gender, leading demographics, that are interested in your particular business product or service, you could potentially waste a lot of time and energy through Facebook advertisement.

I've researched all these factors, because of this, I have had general success in driving traffic to my website via Facebook advertisement. However, keep in mind that even though the CTR may be good, that doesn't mean your sales will increase. One of my friends had an excellent CTR with his Facebook ads. Unfortunately, majority of them never converted into an actual sale.

So when it comes to placing advertisement on major social media platforms (such a Facebook), a number of variables come into play which determine your total outcome.

Facebook ads work better to promote certain posts. This is called 'boosting' and yes it works. Promoting your page through Facebook ads is usually hit or miss. It's worked for me though, but boosting certain posts has worked a lot better. I've also heard from some people Facebook ads have been a total failure for them. So it depends on your content and targeted keywords really.

It’s not me but some of my friends who are using the paid Facebook Ads for their online business. However, from what I gathered, the personal ads seemed to be effective if you have the time to make regular posts. That is the free ads that I am talking about which you post on your timeline. However, there is a tendency that your friends may see your post as spam and may block you. You just have to be creative about your marketing posts.
