    I think it is more worthwhile to submit to largest classifieds, directory, blogs, forum, etc, reason being your website link

    Excluding forum and blogs because they are still valuable for SEO.

    I agree with IdealMike as it is not necessary to submit your site to search engines. Google search engine bot can visit and index your site automatically and you don't need to do it manually.

    On the other hand, it is not bad to submitting your site to search engine. There is no loss to do it as it is good to gain traffic from any search engine. It does not leave a negative effect on the website if you are having visitors worldwide.

    Unless the site is being visited by many people from around the globe, I don't see such plan working out for me at the end. I would prefer to stick to Google and look for ways to rank higher.

    The only few search engines I like is Google been the top one of all time, Bing and Yahoo. The rest is just full of spam but that is my opinion . I use to submit everywhere to all kinds when first started out but I don't see the point your just wasting your time there. Now I concentrate on the bigger ones and at first place is Google.

    It's total waste of time since we can get better and quality traffics by ranking higher only on Google. I see other search engines as complementary.

    The truth is that aside from the traffics generated from Yahoo search engine, Bing and Google, it's difficult to achieve such success by spreading to other sites for reason like having your site being spammed and all that.

    I totally agree with you.Search engine traffic is so organic and this is what a site live on organic traffic.I have submitted my to Yahoo,Google and Bing for now and I'm still going to submit to more in the coming you.Bot indexing ones site is the ultimate.

    Does this mean that if my website is getting a good number of traffic from the regular visitors, do I still have to submit my site to search engines for my link to appear in the search list? Pardon me for my ignorance because my idea was for the website to gain substantial number of traffic and the search engine will begin to notice it. That means there is no need of submitting the site’s link to be qualified for inclusion to the search list.

    For me it's only Google that matrers. It's the biggest and it's where half of my traffic comes from. The other half comes from Social Media specifically Facebook. With the sheer dominance of Google and Facebook I don't think tapping other search engines can help me more. I'll just concentrate on those two for better traffic results.
