Nice share Razzy! Awesome information. I've seen a documentary on them as well as Google. Apparently, at one point, they wanted to sell Google's algorithm to Microsoft for a couple of millions but Microsoft turned them down as Bill Gates didn't believe this "search engine" stuff will get anywhere too fast. Imagine where Microsoft will be now if they bought Google back in the day.

I believe Google holds a real monopoly over this industry and makes me wonder if anyone can ever compete with them. If not it seems a little unfair to let Google function as a whole company, lack of competition and total monopoly by being some damn rich and powerful isn't exactly the democratic way.

Just my point of view, I believe companies like Facebook and Google have reached a totally new stage in terms of how big a company can actually get, even if better ideas are born, both Google and Facebook have the power to kill or acquire those said companies right from their infancy.

Google is one of the most useful inventions of this modern age. The most useful things at first might seem insignificant but at the end they always turn out bigger than one could have ever imagined.

One of the most surprising events that can happen and I would like to see, is someone coming up with an idea that would break the monopoly these companies hold over the Industry.

I think in their leadership many good things happened. A lot of things changed. And with enough good things around, you may find that such leaders will help create new future. You may find some good developers are in line to replace them. But I guess only the time will tell you how they are going to be good in near future.
