I would just Google "top 20 search engines you must use" or something along those lines and target those. You never know.. Google may find it's "matchmaker" - causing the site to go out with a boom like MySpace.. xD

I think you can try Bing. The market share for Bing has been growing. Many people are now using Bing because of the Bing Rewards. It is unfortunate that Bing Rewards are available only to those from the US. I am sure if Bing Rewards were international there would have been more people using Bing.

You will have to target Bing and Yahoo. These are two most used social engines apart from Google. If you want to target Chinese, you can also try targeting to Baidu, which is a Chinese version of Google (not a Google company, but a search engine that is used by most of the Chinese. Google is banned in China, therefore, Chinese use Baidu. If you want to attract Chinese population, you will have to target Baidu.

When you do SEO methods for Google, you are actually doing it not for just one search engine but it applies to all. For instance, you have included keywords in your content, those keywords will have an effect on any search engine that will access your website for indexing. And once there, your link will be part of the search list regardless of the rank. In other words, what is good for Google is also good for Bing and Yahoo and any other search engine in the internet.

I think that you should concentrate on Google alone because it's the biggest and most relevant. No sense in tapping other search engines, it's just a waste of time since Google alone with its billions of users can do the job. You can try Bing if you like.
