Joint Venture.
Joint venture/Business Partner - Are you interested and what would make you interested?

If and when you're up for a Joint Venture, either when you want a partner for something you're about to do, or if you're looking for something to join as a partner.. What do you do?

A joint venture (JV) is a business entity created by two or more parties, generally characterized by shared ownership, shared returns and risks, and shared governance. Most joint ventures are incorporated, although some, as in the oil and gas industry, are "unincorporated" joint ventures that mimic a corporate entity.

I personally have been looking for business partners for the last 2 years now.. And I do partner up with multiple people each year in various projects. However, I don't charge in "yolo-style" like I've done in the past.

I'm more careful nowadays as I've been literally throwing money away by being too impulsive earlier. But because I've changed my own approach a bit, I don't do as much JV's as I did in the past, and that bothers me. For several reasons.

That being said, have you ever done JV's? - How was it?

And if you're looking for partners for something you're about to launch. What is the most important thing for you?

Andre I would love a joint venture partner for some things I am doing already and for some things I am going to be doing next year too.

I just have one problem and that is trust. I have such high expectations and quite frankly most people don't work as hard as I do. When it comes to putting the time in I'm just not sure I will be able to find someone as dedicated to projects as I am.

Yes someone can throw money at me so I have the finances to invest in my business but then I do all the hard work and they will benefit for how long?

I struggle with this because I find most people are takers and will give a little and take a lot.

I give a lot and I do things for myself and I just don't want to share anything with someone that doesn't deserve it.

It makes things a little tough for me.

Hi Devil's advocate here. I'm just curious about a jv. If I give someone money how is that not pulling my weight? I had to work at my job in the real world to get that money. As the money man I could just hire someone instead of a jv and keep the profits. Now if you (meaning anyone) have the money and skills then why would you (anyone) do a jv. Dont say you dont have the time so you need someone cause if you have the money too you just hire someone like i said. There is 2 sides to every coin. I'm off to go hire someone.

I have sole ownership offline and online business. However, I am interested in joint venture or partnership business. Since I am always owned my business alone, I understand the difficulties or running these business. You are always lacking extra hand to work and you are also always lacking funds.
As long as your business partner has knowledge and skills on the niche and he is sincere, you will always succeed with your partnership business.

I've not had a need to be in a partnership with anyone yet and in as much as it is the type of venture that I might have to look up to in the future, I still do not see the reason I should rush it. I must also ensure that the papers are signed so that we avoid issues in the future.

I don’t think I will enter into a business venture with a partner. Not anymore after a business partner had done us wrong. That high school chum of my husband was a scheming devil that we never expected him to have a hidden agenda of putting up his own similar business and pirating our major clients. That was a neat lesson to us so going into a joint venture is already out of our system.
