Autoresponders. What would be a good one to start with?

Hello Freelancers,
Recently I've been asking questions about blogging. Anything from what to do and how to make money from it. - I'm eager to get even more recommendations, suggestions and ideas. It's very useful!

That being said..
I would probably have to go with an autoresponder, as I would probably want to build a list. Right?

I have used aweber and getresponse in the past.. - But I don't think I'll go with something I have to pay for when I start.. It feels like that would be a pretty dumb choice. Like throwing money away because I have nothing better to do. - Which I do.

I do have better things to do, and other things to do.. And I would probably like to go with a free alternative for starters.. - But it feels like there's literally thousands of options to chose from..

So here I am. Waiting for your suggestions. - What do you think? Can you recommend something decent? Autoresponders. What would be a good one to start with?

Best Regards,

I actually really like MailChimp when they don't ban me lol Autoresponders. What would be a good one to start with?

A feature that is pretty awesome is that you can pick canned responses and edit them to fit your needs. This way you can have it customized to the users name, email, address, etc. depending on what information you collect when they're signing up. That's a pretty standard feature for most auto responders though. Another feature I really like is that you can schedule your emails to be sent out whenever you want. You can automate it for a super long time if you want, like an entire year, by setting up scheduled emails based on when the users signs up. What I like doing is setting it up to send a "Thank You" email to my new sign ups so they can see they'll be getting emails from us most likely. I say that I won't spam them, but what they don't know is that I already have at least 7 emails set up to be sent to them over time lol Autoresponders. What would be a good one to start with? So after the first email I'll send out the second email 2 or 3 days after they register to ask them how their experience was on my website. Now I actually don't care, but I'm getting them to notice my website again and they can click through to my pages via links in the email lol. The next email will go out roughly a week (7 to 10 days) after they sign up and will give them a coupon code to come back and buy something they need. This email works pretty well because you get it out fairly quick and everyone loves free stuff Autoresponders. What would be a good one to start with? After these first few emails I'll have the next ones set around 10 days apart from each other and they will just have basic stuff in there talking about my niche in hopes of getting them to click through Autoresponders. What would be a good one to start with?

Mailchimp does allow you to have a free account up to 2,000 emails/subscribers, so you can definitely test it out easily to see if it's the platform for you or not Autoresponders. What would be a good one to start with?

Thanks,
Razzy

Hmm.. MailChimp seems to be a very good option then! - But why do they ban you? - What do you do to get that kind of treatment?

Oh btw. Is it easy to transfer your list to another autoresponder at a later time, in case I find something else I want to try? - Or would it be "locked" somehow, to mailchimp just because I used their free version or something like that?

I mean.. 2000 subscribers.. That's a huge chunk of people. - If I get 2000 people that are niche targeted and truly potential clients.. Then 2000 subscribers could be everything you need to go from rags to riches in a few days too actually. Even though it's not likely. But yeah, it could potentially work like that.

I got banned because I scraped a list of webmasters and added them into my mailchimp account lmao Autoresponders. What would be a good one to start with?

Yeah, 2,000 subscribers can go a long way as long as they're targeted Autoresponders. What would be a good one to start with? I've had a bunch of 100 - 500 lists and they would pull in a big profit for the day if I blasted out an email to them lol. One time I had a list of 400 people and shot out a "newsletter" letting them know we had a few new services, and I then profited $900 Autoresponders. What would be a good one to start with?

Andre this is a great topic. I have to agree with Razzy here that Mailchimp is pretty good. I love the fact that you can use them for free up to 2000 subscribers and I think 10 000 emails a month?

Anyway they are a great email autoresponder to start with. The thing is that it is really important to start gathering information as soon as possible and when you first start blogging you won't be making an income for a little while, but you can start getting email addresses from the visitors you get.

Anyway I am using aWeber, I feel that they offer a superior service and they have more features but they cost a lot more. I used Mailchimp nicely though until I hit 2000 subscribers and then I changed a little while later.

Thank you Lynne. Yeah, aweber was good. I used them in the past but as I've never really built a list like this in general, I don't really feel the need for an autoresponder that cost me money.

I mean, it doesn't really matter if it cost me $75 or $10 per month. It just doesn't feel worth it when I'm just about to start, as I'm starting from zero so to speak.

But 2000 subscribers seems like a ton of people actually. Just imagine to have 2000 niche targeted people. 2000 real potential clients.. That could potentially be life changing in a matter of seconds. - So that's awesome!

Yes you can build a decent list with Mailchimp for sure and by the time you have to pay you will have enough subscribers to make money anyway. You can then move so easily. I found Mail chimp was so easy to export my list so I could upload it to aWeber.

That is the route I would go for sure.

Mailchimp is great and was one of the only tools I used to send emails. Here are some great alternatives to Mailchimp though: http://blog.capterra.com/top-10-mailchimp-alternatives-small-business-email-marketing/

Also, do you have a list yet? What is your end goal in terms of conversions? Do you want to use email marketing only to get more views for your blog or do you want to actually sell a product?

Because, if content is all you have to offer, for a fresh blog, you don't really need a list in my opinion, at least at first. The list will build itself as you will get more and more readers and encourage them to subscribe to your email newsletter.
