I got a question for the member IdealMike earlier and it got me thinking how you can launch a product, business or service but not actually be live just yet. People have been doing this successfully for years and it still works today as long as you do it right Setting up pre launch pages to capture clients before you even launch.

What this is, is basically a capture page where you talk about your product, business or service and entice people to sign up to get notified once you go live. Big SEO people, dare I say "Gurus", do this all the time when they're trying to build a list of buyers before they actually sell anything. Wouldn't that be nice to launch a service or product and fill all your slots within a day and have a super stable income?

This isn't as hard as it sounds, you just need to take the right steps.

  • Second: Be sure to have a capture form that gets the users name, email and phone number. You can use something like mailchimp or aweber in order to collect all the emails and have a system to send out a bulk email when you're ready to launch. Have 2 capture forms on your page. One of them needs to be above the fold near the top of your page so people see it as soon as they get to your page. The other has to be near the bottom to capture all the people who actually read through your pre sales page. You can even have 2 different form codes with the same fields at the top and bottom. I would assume the people who fill out the bottom form would convert at a much higher rate because your ad copy pulled them all the way down the page and they didn't second guess their decision to sign up. The top form might get more emails but that's from people who sign up for anything just to see if they get a deal or free service lol.

  • Fourth: Start your PPC advertising! I love this type of marketing it really is one of the best ways to sell a product or service. You basically give a small sample of the service or product in a video or review weeks or months before its available. This creates a buzz around the item or service and gets people talking about it and its release date. People will pay attention more so if you have an incredible launch party or sale people just want deals they don't care how they get them lol. This is a great guide to get yourself going with this marketing. This is very simple to follow and i love how you incorporated wordclerks into the mix to help get that site going as far as traffic. Thank you for sharing this its a good reminder for me and im sure others will benefit from this as well.

Wow Razzy thank you for explaining this process so beautifully for a pre launch. I've been wondering about how it is all done because I am always hearing things about a pre launch but nobody has ever really explained how to go about this.

I am wondering now about the website I want to launch next year and whether I can implement something like this. I guess this could apply to any type of website... plus I would be gathering email addresses which would be really nifty to have when I launch my new business idea.

Good strategy but SEO and Marketing Gurus are doing this because they are already "famous" they know people are willing to pay attention to them if they throw in an "incentive page". Don't know how will this can work if you start out from scratch.

Great points, though, good tutorial, I would want to see such a campaign in action when t first starts, building the actual list may be easy, how do you decide how long you should stay in the "incentive stage"?

For me, advertising your website is the most important part of the procedure since you will only get viewers or visitors by letting them know that you have a website. My suggestion in advertising a personal website is to tap your social media connections. When you have friends there who are dynamic enough and supportive as to spread your advertisement then you are on a good footing regarding your new website.
