Setting up free service websites in order to make sales.

So I've been working on a marketing scheme for one of my websites to generate sales and I was thinking about doing something that I've done in the past because it works very well. What I like to do is set up websites that offer free services, which are automated, in order to build my lists and generate sales.

Now you're thinking "Wait, you said a free service? How are you making sales?" well that's pretty simple. I don't sell anything on the free service website actually, but I do have banners linked to my sales pages on other websites Setting up free service websites in order to make sales. That way I can market these free service websites independently and make a sale on anyone who clicks through to my other website(s)

The trick to doing this is to find out what people really want in your niche and if you can afford to get it done easily and cheap. What I like to do is think of a service that I would like to see, for free, and then I'll go over to themeforest.net and codecanyon.net to see if there is anything on there that has all the features, or more, of what I want done. Usually there are some good things on those websites that can get your wheels spinning and you can even contact the designer for some custom work. A few times I've done this and the programmer has charged me pennies compared to what I thought it would have cost Setting up free service websites in order to make sales. Other times they want a ridiculous amount and I have to back off to see if I can find a programmer somewhere else for cheaper.

This does take a lot of time to get everything going since you'll have to do an individual marketing campaign for your new free service website. But in the end, if you did it right, you should be able to sit back and watch the traffic come in because people love sharing free service websites on social media and forums Setting up free service websites in order to make sales. So your traffic becomes your marketers in the end Setting up free service websites in order to make sales. You will have to hit the website with an SEO boost every couple months, but that's pretty normal with any website Setting up free service websites in order to make sales.

Wow that's clever, build your own free service website and re-direct the traffic with banners to your paid and money making website.
I wonder how do you get the traffic on the free services website in the first place? Do free services have a lot more searches compared with paid services on any specific niche or do you need to find the right match and glue everything together?

I don't want to push you into giving us all of your secrets but I do want to hear more about your whole process.

Oh that is a cool idea Razzy. I suppose you would rake in more money with your banners than you would make if you had for example Google Adwords campaigns on that website right?

I am just wondering though, if there are website themes that will often do exactly the thing you would like to offer visitors for free then how much competition would you have to fight off and beat in the search engines to get the amount of traffic you would need to make some money?

I suppose though that most people that use one of those themes may be charging for those services?

I have tried this, but have not had much success. I think people tend to think free product or service websites are crappy, low quality services or products and tend to stay away. This is how I figured my website was. My website was a free website, much like SharedCount, in which you could check your social network stats, such as Facebook Likes on a link, Twitter tweets for a link, Tumblr posts for a link, etc. The service used the social network APIs, and displayed the data. It was entirely free. However, what I noticed was, is that the website didn't seem to gain the customers for a real paid service i was promoting, i think they figured since the site was free, it was only created to promote this "premium" product. So with that in your mind, you use a website that is free, but it wants you to go to this other website to actually purchase something.

You need to be smart about it, otherwise the visitors will just think the tool, service, app, or whatever it is is only there to make a few bucks elsewhere. Sometimes, i may add, is that visitors would actually use the contact form and say something like "You should remove the advertisements, they are a nuisance".. but they were small 468x60 banners, and like 2 125x125 banners.. not much a nuisance as those animated banners, or autoplay videos.. never understand that .. but anyhow..

Good luck though, hope you have great success!

When we had our retailing of computer supplies business, we provided free service for a checkup of devices particularly the printer and the monitor (not the CPU because that requires a technician). But the most popular free service we had was the checking of viruses. During that time, the anti-virus software was not yet a standard fixture in the computer so you can imagine the infection of computers which was common. We spent for that free service but it definitely gave us a good reputation.

One thing is that when we offer free service to the people out there, it is going to make us popular and our business looked at in good shape. It is never easy, but as long as I am concerned, this is one sure way that we can get to reach out lots of people out there about the things that we do.
