The buyer gave me a negative rating. What can I do?

There may be times when you have done the best job as a seller and yet your buyer provides a negative rating. It is useful to understand why your buyer would take this course of action, before over-reacting or accusing buyer of anything.

First deal with the buyer and try to resolve the problem. Maintain your calm during these dealings.

To avoid the Negative feedback, Please Try to maintain Some Rules:

-Complete Order in time
-Provide a neat and clean report
-Try to give Extra service to impress the buyer
-Always have a pleasing and professional manner
-Maintain a friendly and courteous tone when asking buyer to remove negative rating
-Offer a nice incentive to appease the buyer if he will remove negative rating
-If all else fails and you know you are in the right, contact support to ask that order/rating be reviewed and removed.
Thank You The buyer gave me a negative rating. What can I do?

Thank you for your contribution RICKY, I appreciate it.
Negative feedback for a product or service is an unfortunate circumstance of being a seller. It's sad but it's true. These things will come and go, no matter what you do. I covered some of this topic a while back with some insights.. Feel free to check it out: How To Deal With Negative Feedback?

What I shared within that topic is what I did myself when I received my very first negative rating, and it was an unfair rating too!
Perhaps it's not the best way of dealing with negative ratings but at least that's what I did myself.

Best Regards,

I have had very few cases where I got negative feedback on seocheckout, and I am happy for that. Besides, in these couple of cases, I found support from administration. I suggest that sellers always do their very best when delivering a service. When you do your utmost and you are absolutely safe that you are not in the wrong. Should for some reason a buyer rate you negatively or even reject your work, you can then be in a position to ask for a reason for that. If he is not willing to share a proper reason with you, you can then contact support staff who will surely look into the matter.

I haven't had any negative feedback here yet, but I have not yet made a lot of sales yet either. I am sure that if I do make a lot of sales one day that someone will give me negative feedback,it is just the way of life isn't it?

But thank you for those pointers on how to avoid negative feedback, that is very valuable advice. The most important thing like you say is to provide a quality service, give more than promised, go the extra mile and be professional, friendly and helpful. That will certainly decrease your chances of getting negative feedback!

Thanks for the tips but even if you do all that that doesn't guarantee you'll get a positive rating, I actually had one or two people that gave me a negative review even though I over delivered and acted as nice as possible, they'd still left comments something like "Meh, good enough" - but with negative reviews.

Some may edit their review if you contact them and ask them nicely, maybe even offer a small bonus for doing this but some won't respond back and you'll be stuck with a negative review, as far as I know support can't do much about it because we are talking about the seller's "honest" and real opinion regarding your service, it's the seller right to leave positive of negative review and you can't do anything about it. Correct me if I'm wrong but I Remeber contacting support about a similar issue and them just provided me with this answer and frankly it makes sense.

LOL yeah I gave IdealMike a thumbs down.... seriously. It was by mistake though, it was late and I was so tired I could barely see my screen... shame I think he must've had a heart attack after that great service he delivered.

Luckily it is very easy to change it.

Amazing tips you have given above on how to ensure that, as a freelancer, you have smooth dealings with your clients which may result in getting a better rating from such customers. Building up a good relationship with the clients will always bring about positive ratings and even recommendations from such clients in the future.
