What steps you have to follow to write the perfect article?

First thing first, choose your topic wisely and establish exactly what points you want to touch in the article. Usually, the topic has to be narrow enough and the subject has to be quite evidently.

RESEARCH! A well written article has to be researched for more than 5 minutes. Be sure that you have time to read sufficiently about the topic. Internet will be your best friend when it comes to find out information about a subject but you don't have to limit yourself to it. Use books, magazines, newspapers or anything you seem fit and feel that is helping. The quality of the article will be determined upon how much you read and comprehend the info from your sources.

You have to specify from the beginning what exactly are you writing about. Otherwise you will write just a bunch of words without actually saying anything. On some blogs it might be ok to do this, but yours it suppose to be an informative one with quality articles so avoid doing this. You have to be concise!

Do yourself a script and establish a storyline. For example if you write an article about "honey" you should describe what insects are responsible for it, where do they bring it, how do they bring it, how you collect it, what nutritious qualities it has, what are the application for it , who does it sell it and where.
Don't write useless information about the product, instead of 500-600 words crappy article better a 300 well written. Be determined and focused.

Do not write your article using complicated phrases and words. Be clear and understandable for all categories of people. Keep in mind that not only Oxford students will read it.

Great post and advices, thanks RaduV. I am not the best in article writing, but mainly because of all these things we have to take care of. Think of this and that, compare to this and that, take care of how Google will take it and rank it, use this and that tools to research etc etc etc...

What happen to real simple blogging? It's allready like whole science when it comes to article writing, so i guess in near future there will be 4 years study on some college to become article writer What steps you have to follow to write the perfect article?

That's why I LOVE SOCIAL MEDIA sites, where in few words and nice image i can say much more and spend less time and effort to write something simple but meaningful

If you want to survive in this market, i believe simple blogging is not enough anymore. Or it is but then your results will always be under those that follow the guidelines. I know is getting harder and harder but, like in any field you have to keep up with the progress and play by the rules if you want to have some positive results.

Nobody is forcing you to write using anchor keywords or maintain some keyword density in the article, on the page, bold some words, add pictures and so on but you have to be aware that someone that is doing this tricks will be placed in front of you.

Indeed, posting on social media can be much easier but keep in mind that there is so much useless content there that is really hard to read a good article. Personally, i skip 95% of the articles that are posted on Facebook because the lack in format and the language is either to simple or sometimes the author is using a really hard to read way of typing and I'm getting bored.

I agree with you that it is important to keep on page SEO in mind while writing otherwise you will be left behind big time when it comes to rankings.

I make use of social media marketing but I have to agree with you that your posts are wading around in an ocean of content isn't it? Ideally you want people to find you through organic search and the only way to achieve that is great quality content that is well researched and well written, plus on page and off page SEO.

I am realizing more and more that you do need to be an all rounder when it comes to online marketing. Just focusing on on thing is not going to do it anymore.

Pretty awesome post and spot on What steps you have to follow to write the perfect article?

When I'm writing up an article, blog post or content for my websites I'll do a lot of the above. I definitely agree with the research prior, I do this all the time especially for clients that I'm not 100% sure what their work revolves around. Just posting jumbled up content to their website might make it look like they don't know what they're talking about when their traffic reads it, and they'll be seen as less of an authority. Your customers will be pissed off if they see this so it's best to do the research than just wing it lol.

When I'm writing something up I'll always lay out the key points I want to hit within the post. I'll usually write down bullet points and when I'm writing I'll try not to stray from them too much. I've noticed that if you begin to stray from the bullet point you'll actually leak into other points that you are suppose to talk about later and it could make your post or article confusing. Doing this can actually shorten your post or article as well since you're just briefly going over a section you wanted to go into detail later on.

If the post is going on my blog or website I'll always make sure it's super high quality. I write pretty well, but even I make mistakes that can make me look bad. I'll always wait a day to publish a long post because I like to re-read everything the next day to make sure it makes sense. The post could make perfect sense when you write it up, but if you wait a day and go back to read it, it could sound horrible and need plenty of editing. This has happened to me plenty of times and I was always glad that I had some patience and waited before I posted.

I find it sometimes very hard to just stop and publish an article, every time I finish and read the thing again I start editing and improving things.
Guess it's in my blood, I need to optimize everything I "touch".

On the other hand, don't really think there is such a thing as a perfect article, but we can try don't we?
Also, you said nothing about studying similar articles or maybe your competitors? I find it only natural, but yet again this might be a SEO reflex.

It happens to all of us, I suppose. You know that we are not native English speakers so it's a bit tricky to express ourselves in writing. In my head everything sounds perfect but sometimes, what I'm thinking is not what I write.

Quite often, I write a full paragraph five or six times before i post it, because at first I don't like a word that I've used, then I replace the word but then the sentence doesn't sound as I wanted, then the whole sense of the phrase is lost and so on,

Well I did mentioned about researching the topics we are writing about so I thought that it's clear that in this you include articles on your competitors as well.

First of all you need to be well conversant with the subject. If you are not you need to spend some time researching. Chances are you will find plenty of articles on the same topic, and if you read some you will be able to get a better insight as to what you can write, while ensuring that you are providing accurate information. It is also important that you visualize how you will be formatting the article, such as if you will be including any headlines, bulleted or numbered lists. The finalized article, and where you want to go needs to be at the back of your mind as you write.

Great advice there RaduV. I like what you said about using simple words and phrases. It reminds me of a book that I read, oh wait a book that I tried to read. It was My Booky Wook by Russell Brand. It was positively awful because he used such complicated words. I am English and it was honestly unreadable. Combined with the fact that he had so many references to British things that nobody in another country would ever understand and you are left with an unreadable book that is only targeted to one country...

I got seriously annoyed by that. If I am English speaking and I cant understand what has been written then the writer has failed dismally.

before you sit to write, you need to decide what kind of article you want to write: is it an online article, or an article that will get published on print publication. Is your article do it yourself kind of article, or an article that provides information. Different kind of article needs different skills.
Here is the drill down for online article
Use a descriptive title, it is best if you can use search term as the title, if that is not possible, use keywords on the title
Use multiple subtitles, your subtitles also should contain keywords
If possible, present bullet list.

very good advice. Decide what article to write, do the research, list out the draft and post it.

I admit that I am not that good in writing articles but my writing is not bad either. Until now, I am a writer in progress. Anyway, my main tool in writing articles is the outline. It is a list of items that will constitute a paragraph or so. When the outline is short that means I have little information to write so I need to make a research. My usual research is interviewing a resource person via email of private message. I seldom go to the internet for research to avoid committing redundancy. The items in the outline is prioritized to have a guide in the flow of the article. That's my way of writing a perfect article... at least perfect to my impression.

A good title and content will attract more people to your blog. That's the reason why I don't post on my blog on a daily basis. I normally post only once or twice per week. I normally research as much as possible on my article and I try to think about an attention grabbing title. At times I also have my articles reviewed by someone else before posting.

Nice and valid points.Writing a good article needs one researching on the topics so as to come up with a valuable, interesting and useful piece. The write-up must be self-explanatory.No use of heavy sounding words and no beating around the bush.A good article must be well edited and straight to the point.

I like the steps outlined in the first article and I have also learned from it. When I write articles especially for clients, I always start by doing research especially if I have none or little information about the topic. I then write short points that will help in building paragraphs without living out anything important.
