What do you think about Chan Zuckerberg Initiative?

Chan Zuckerberg is the name of initiative created by Mark Zuckerberg the CEO of Facebook, and his wife Priscila Chan. They both are very popular names, and I’m sure that everyone knows them, or at least you should’ve heard about them specially if you use Facebook.

What do you think about Chan Zuckerberg Initiative?

The goal of Chan Zuckerberg initiative is to bring scientifics and engineers together in one mission, to develop tools that will help people to prevent, and cure all diseases over the next 10 years, they also have promised to invest $5 billion into this initiative, which is really a nice investment if you ask me.

Definitely it’s a big, and amazing initiative, and hope that they will build something that people needs, and finding new ways to cure all diseases.

Why is that guy have the same shirts all the time? Seriously, also man boobs. Lol.

Anyway, cure all diseases, well, that's what I call BIG GOALS. Ok, so let's say they'll find a cure for all kind of illnesses in 10-20 years. What then? How much will this "cure" gonna cost? Who is going to take advantage of it?

What impact is the cure going to have on the Earth's population and of course, on the Earth's environment?

I think they're going a bit too far. Maybe, JUST MAYBE we should first start to figure out how to educate and feed most of the world's population and only after that we can worry about curing death and exploring space.

PS: I never liked Zuckerberg and his agenda for the past couple of years.

He follows Steve Jobs's clothing style. It was known to wear the same black mock turtleneck, blue jeans and New Balance sneakers all the time. From one point of view it's quite efficient and good way of saving time. Probably this way he feels more comfortably.

Regarding their initiative, I salute them and I hope that they will achieve their goal but it sounds a bit Science-Fiction. It's a big goal and when you make this declaration you assume a big responsibility.

Cristian asked some really good questions. How we will benefit from it, how affordable will be and it will be available for all people or only for some?

Keep in mind that we are now facing troubles with over population. What then? If nobody will die or live until 90's, then what? Someone will accelerate the space exploration and colonization as well?

LOL it is like a uniform and it reminds me of my father. He has a specific set of clothes for work and for after work and weekends.

His cupboard is like military style...all the same clothes lined up. All his socks are the same, all his jerseys are the same, all his shirts and tshirts.

I also think it is quite nice in a way. No need to worry about what you will wear every day. No need to worry about shopping much either. He just sends my mom to get some more things when something needs replacing.

I think it is great that he has this initiative even if it is maybe quite a large goal to achieve.

Here's my take on all these diseases that the human race are battling with. It has to do with mother nature. When the population of one species gets too much nature takes its course and tries to maintain balance.

Anyone can clearly see that there is not much balance with the human race, we are causing huge damage to the planet and the environment. I think all these diseases are Mother Nature's way of trying to cull us.

I am quite certain that even if all the current diseases are cured there will just be more to take their place.

That's great. It is a very optimistic venture from people who can afford to stimulate such research. I do wish that something came out for the benefit of many people from this, especially in the medical field.
