Importance of local SEO and local business reviews

Local reviews are incredibly important and you should ensure that you encourage customers to post reviews about your business on review sites such as Yell and Yelp. Make sure to also not forget to get people to post a review on your Google business page.

It used to be really easy to get a link to your Google business reviews, but a recent Google+ update left the links broken.

One thing to note with reviews is that you should never buy them as it’s against the terms of service of all credible directories as it is, in theory, false advertising.

Links

Anybody that knows anything about SEO will know that high quality contents and inbound links (backlinks) are still one of the biggest ranking factors. Regardless of whether you’re doing international, national or local SEO links are a necessity, especially in competitive markets.

When doing local SEO you should aim to add as much local relevance to your links as possible. To do this you can do guest posts on local business blogs, get listed in local directories, sponsor local events and much more.

Hopefully I’ve made a strong case for including local search into your marketing strategy with this article. Unless you’re already a nationally recognized brand, local SEO is going to be a necessity if you want to generate more leads and make more sales with your website over the next few years.

Make sure to stay committed with your efforts as it’s not an overnight fix, but when done correctly is one of the most sustainable ways of generating business online.

Thanks Anwebservices Importance of local SEO and local business reviews I am planning on starting another website and it will be local so I am very interested in learning everything I can about local SEO.

I do have another local website but I set that up before I learned anything about SEO so this is going to be an amazing way to learn how to do things the first time. My other website I knew nothing and made a lot of mistakes. It is a nice website but it still needs a load of work done to it!

I started working on local SEO for one of my clients. The Google business page update were my first tasks o handle. I've contacted Google and updated every aspect of the Google Business card. I already started to contact past clients asking them to give honest reviews, do you think this may be a problem for Google?

I personally don't think so, especially since all the people contacted were past or current clients. I'm going to take it slow, though, don't force it by having too many updates too fast, a couple updates per week should be safe.

With a business that is based locally, it is important to have good reviews of your business especially when it is an online business that is dependent on delivery. My experience with deliveries is sometimes disappointing that’s why I am impressed whenever I would come across a review of a prompt delivery of the ordered goods. And that review will stick to my mind.
